I love the irony of how the old lady facing down death right in front of her is the one having to comfort JD through the process. I love scrubs and I love how it can be funny as well as very deep.
Mrs. Tanner: Sweetie, I'm seventy-four years old, I'm ready to go. J.D.: Yeah, but with dialysis, you could live another...eighty or ninety years. Mrs. Tanner: I think you're being a little irrational. J.D.: No I'm not. Mrs. Tanner: Everybody dies sometime. J.D.: No they don't.
after 4:00 i start balling like a baby. i love her.she seems like she would be an awesome friend. someone who just asks are you okay? and gives you a hug. i need someone like that in my life.
She is ready to die. Sometimes I feel like that when the pain gets too much. On the other hand I don't think my dad was ready to die age 52. From cancer.
Gazza 4 whereas my mum at 55 probably was (but she'd had a stroke 4 years before and had been living with the tumour for 6 years, and had one removed 12 years before) (and couldn't see or hear and could barely move) it's 8 years in March and I miss her everyday
Nope, its not the Jeff Buckley version, but it is the same song. I'm apparently retarted though and for the life of me cant think of who sings this version.
It was episodes like this that made Scrubs such a special show.
She died of cancer recently. Rest in peace. :(
Everything Kathryn Joosten was in, she was amazing. I miss her as an actor, and she seemed like a pretty great human being.

Did you ever go on that picnic? Make sure you do.

I love how they didn't make her being on dialysis into a pity party like other shows or the newspapers do! Very good episode!
As an RN I love this scene so much. I hope I'm as peaceful when my time comes.

I almost cried at this. I barely cry at TV show but this brought tears to my eyes. I love scrubs and the lesson's it teaches me about life.
Fucking Scrubs and it's fucking touching emotional content!

You're welcome. Glad it helped you. This was originally uploaded for a friend's med school project on how doctors deal with patients dying.
