I think the trailer is a joke made to trick us all. The movie will open with the actual Tiny Tina blasting through the screen and maniacially laughing, saying "You thought THAT was me?!"
@@Vuntermonkeypersonally I doubt it, I don’t think they would risk jeopardizing their movie and make people not want to watch it. There is too much to lose with that play and little to gain compared to just releasing the actual product which would excite people far more. I sadly think this trailer is just as it seems unfortunately, I hope you’re correct because it could be awesome but I don’t personally think so, good response though!!!
It suffers from 'Guardians of the galaxy' syndrome.. like jesus christ, transpose GotG 1 characters over it..

This just feels like some weird Borderlands fan fic
Four hollywood stars cosplayed as their favorite borderlands characters and then they made a movie from the footage they made while they were drunk at a hollywood party. That's what we have here. Nothing special at all.
Kevin hart is only playing Rolan because it pads his Ego.
Kevin hard only plays the same character in every piece of media he does. Never changes
i means ill admit he plays a LOT of the same characters in the movie, this one is no exception but i have seen him play other movies where hes more of a coward, so i can't say he only plays the same character over and over, but i agree in the middle ground that he plays a lot of the same character!
Did they even play the games? Of course not. I will eat my words if any actor speaks up about having played the game before the part, but this is no where, CLOSE! To how borderlands is. If they don't start the movie with marcuses storytelling or any of the iconic bordelands intros and title cards then it's not borderlands and they are too afraid what the "MODERN AUDIENCE" would think. I rather they animate it then do this shit and get the real voice actors to make an actual film to make it enjoyable with the iconic visual style it was.

Ironically if they didn't take it serious and treated it like an SNL parody it would be a lot better with this cast. Especially if there's third wall breakers mentioning Tannis' age or Roland's height.

They literally could have hired the claptrap voice actor or the guy they replaced him with after not paying him for the voice acting. For significantly less money than Jack Black.

@Slennister yeah I completely agree. I was just being sarcastic, saying it should be enough. It seems like that's how the movie studios/directors or whatever think. Just throw a super liked, memorable character on screen, have someone famous play them and box office gold in their eyes.
One thing sums it up: Eli Roth. This is a guy that takes video game properties and makes the worst movies about them. He's a hack banking on love people have for the subject of his movies. He himself does not have that interest in them.
I like just about every actor - love Cate Blanchette! - but everyone is wrong. The world, as a character, is damn near spot on! I could have cried when they introduced Tina. That's a tragedy. All that said, Jack Black came the closest to character (I would see him as someone interested in Borderlands, however, hire the real voice actor, always). I did take a liking to Jamie Lee Curtis as Tannis.
Never go and see an Eli Roth film. It won't stop him from making bad video game movies but you will have done some good in this universe.

I know it sounds like gripes or nitpicky questions but the trailer feels like a slap together snl skit rather than something that’s at least faithful in some way

the actors aside. The fact that one of the writers, because we need more than ONE these days, went through the hussle of deleting his name from this project because he won't stand for this "product" is a far greater problem to me.
If that is true, then that would be devastating to hear. But I wouldn’t blame the choice he made either, because I really don’t think this movie will do well :(
@@Slennister someone smarter than me was lookin out for that movie (because in theory we could have nice things from time to time) and he took notice of the writer change in the middle of the movie project and the writer missing from the subtext to this trailer. He made a video and talked about the meaning of a writer leaving mid project and then deleting his name. He said the writer had to go to a writers guild specifically requesting to be deleted from the project and that guild gave green light. My source is the youtuber "David Hain" - fair warning: his videos are mostly in german language but his information seemed legit (sadly)

The actor of Lilith from the first and second game could have been in it and It would have been fine. People that aren't well known actors could have been fine.

This isn't made for Borderlands fans, they expect you to be there day 1. It's for the larger audience that doesn't know the franchise so it's churned through the Hollywood machine with most likely alittle modern propaganda and made to please investors and mass audiences. And they blew the cance to have Marcus ask if we want to hear a story. 🤦♂️
i figured it'd be a dumpster fire since it's an adaptation of the games made by someone who's either never played them or didn't pay attention at all.
nobody was cast properly (although i agree that krieg and claptrap look fine), and the writing is so far removed from what the games do that it feels like every other modern movie written by the same band of 5 guys who barely know how to write anything.
almost none of the costumes match too. Like you said at the start, Lilith is missing her tattoos and it looks like she's wearing a cheap wig, and she's so much older than character should be. Cosplayers do a better job lmao.
also, the background music and general presentation of the trailer makes it seem like a wal-mart version of guardians of the galaxy.
and the ending of the trailer is so fucking awful that i physically felt my soul leaving my body.
you forgot to mention Tannis's age... I mean she was probably around late 30's early 40's but Jamie Lee Curtis is way over that...

Don't you just love when you invest hundreds of hours getting intimately familiar with a story and it's characters over 3 videogames, just to see some shallow, corporate executives who've never heard of it and could care less about it, or better yet, despise the fans themselves, hijack that beloved story and use it to masquerade as "fans", themselves, so they can shank you over and over until every last coin has fallen from your pockets, before moving onto the next story that they realize still has life left in it?.........AVP, Tomb Raider, The Witcher, Borderlands, the list goes on..... I used to hate Hollywood. Now, there is nothing but apathy....they are exhausting.
What part of the 3 borderlands games was congruent? None of the characters are. The Game has a simple plot, There are people that want money, so they hunt vaults and kill monsters while meeting new characters and enemies along the way, Fuck me man even the Main antagonist of each game is different. What exactly is the issue? this is a movie BASED on a game, The characters are obvious to their Game counters (as much as this dude wants to piss and moan about a production company choosing to hire recognizable actors in order to pull in a larger audience) So please Piss and moan just like sonic, just like mortal Kombat, just like Bloodrayne. You know who ruins Video Game movies? Fans of the fucking Games. Y'all need to learn to take off the "Nostalgia Pants" and put on the adult ones, maybe they have yer balls in 'em. *I.E Stop going into Movies with expectations and just enjoy the fucking thing or don't watch it **-We don't always get what we want-*

I find the music from the trailer jarring. It feels like they tried to clone Guardians of the Galaxy. To me Borderlands and Borderlands 2 did not take themselves seriously in universe but were made with proper seriousness. This looks more like a cheap Marvel rip off to me.

none of the character were mis cast, they got exactly who randy wanted for each role, it was just a big ego jerk for him. i doubt randy gave a damn about the movie, he just wanted to meet his fave actors/actresses. they guy that played Apollo son in the boxing movies you show would have worked better, the spend more on the cast then they did on everything else combined.
I am am more upset that the technical is literally not a technical and is instead a fricking SUV with "windows". We don't ever see any vehicles operating within a planets atmosphere with windscreens in the borderlands series. They might as well have used Elon Musks fricking Cyber Truck while they're at it, now that would have been some hilarious ironic humor as that vehicles release is just as much of a dumpster fire as this movie is going to be.
Danzel Washington wouldve been a better choice for roland instead of kevin hart.

its a Jumanji re skin which I understand, they want a commercial success, and tbh im amazed they got such a big cast for the film seeing as borderlands isnt as widespread popular as the die hard fans think it is. Lilith is too old and that really is my biggest bug, roland with edris elba would have be a good shout too.
I agree for the most part, although I did state in my video that Idris Elba would be a better pick than Kevin hart, it was more like a honorable mention, I don’t think he’s the best pick mainly because he also doesn’t fit the age range for roland, idris is in his 50’s, Roland is in his 30’s I do think the other younger actors in my video would suffice just give, it’s just unfortunate because to put these characters in light would be hard to find, the market is just too low for people who look like the characters and can act like them too, great take though overall!!!!

Just based on the trailer, I'm okay with Tina's casting but you're right, I had the same thought: the rest of the casting is all wrong.
They are all miscasts but seriously was Idris Elba busy!? He'd be an AMAZING Soldier. He was in one of the Fast and Furious movies too right? He's voiced knuckles so we know when likes video games he's the perfect fit! Kevin Hart ain't it man... I mean maybe he could have voiced clap trap but then again I never understand why Hollywood takes away prominent voice acting roles away just to give them to some random famous person.

what i cant get past is that the characters themselves are being made for comedy. in borderlands the comedy is very present, but its present because of context. never does roland make a joke abt something dumb, instead, something dumb happens to roland and we watch him react. there arent suicide jokes TOLD in borderlands, your PLAY suicide in roland, and that's whats funny. nothing abt the idea of jumping off a cliff for money if all to funny, but actually doing it, while playing as dedicated vault hunter is hilarious, and being able to gank the system and get the money anyways is great. i think the movie might have great propwork and story but it misses the humor. this is why the humor in the gam was allowed to be so ranchy, because outside of claptrap, it wasn't the characters being ranchy that made things funny, it was the characters being placed in ranch situations, with ranchy psychos with ranchy enemies and seeing their reaction to it, wich is part of your own reaction if your playing as them. here though, their gonna make the characters themselves dragged down to the level of idiocracy the jokes are.
you could have such stupid shit happening like diamond ponys and clap traps ass saving the team, or streamers as villains, because the heroes, the anchors of the story arent the same, they are respectable people you'd want to look up to or be, they are honorable and logical and have real characterization, that way we can laugh WITH them, not at them. it isn't three stooges comedy, its stand up and our mc is in the wild and twisted crowd fighting off the horrors of the comic on stage.

I think that alot of players will watch the film, but i don't think that peopple watching film will be ever play, because this game is have his own sens of humor which is distinct from other games. It's not for eweryone.
You know why this is happening? because every live adaptation has failed. No actor wants to do it. That is what I think.
100% agree with all you said. Casting is a complete cluster fuck in this movie. I knew one of the concept artist for the original game. Crazy bastard put my gamer tag in his personal thanks in the ending credits. This movie is an insult to everything that team achieved with the original game.

I honestly couldn’t agree more. Not that it justifies the movie but with “multiverse aspect” maybe that’s why all the characters are casted…the way they are…changing their individual personalities. I hope Tanis is still eccentric and mad but with all the other changes…I doubt it. Yeah nvm it still hurts saying that.

I guess they tried to mimic the Guardians of the Galaxy vibes for the common people. These movies sell regardless of if they stay loyal to the franchise or not. The common folk will watch it while we, the fans will most likely not watch the movie.

Yeah, this is gunna be a pass for me. Loved all the borderlands games, and you are 100% right, this is totally ruined by the standard hollywood bullshit. The castings trash, the characters are totally wrong, and just shows once again that hollywood are great at destroying established franchises with fanbases. Once you try to "mainstream" something, its trashed, totally.
I personally think Idris Elba has the perfect demeanor for Roland, he's the same build and has the same snarky humor.
Literally a glorified guardians of the galaxy with elements of borderlands. They also needed to start from borderlands 1 and have the events from it and do it canonically
Honestly I’m not opposed to that, even if they went out and branches their own chapter and added in things that amplified the original creation I’d be okay with that, I mean that’s part of what makes borderlands borderlands. Each game they have (with the exception of tiny Tina’s wonderland and tales of borderlands) have had a stealth based classes, a brute, a soldier, and a siren, they may use different characters but typically stick with that formula, if this movie was to use that type of idea of re-using concepts yet making them different, I will still support that over this movie, but I do agree with you overall, great take!
How Lilith looked throws me off instantly. And everything else does not seem right. I understanding the borderlines art style can make irl look or feel slightly different. But this is not close. Going to be a sad skip

Honestly not a bad take, I agree with most of what you said with the exception of Tina/claptrap, I’m sure they have their reasons for having claptrap trap as jack black, but I really feel like it would save money just hiring the voice actors to do that role, as for Tina, it’s a hard market to find anyone else, but I still don’t think that the current actress is a good pick, atleast with out she presents Tina :(
They absolutely love to destroy the IPS that we grew up with and it's absolutely insane that they chose a 50-plus year old woman even the doc that's being played by what's her name oh I can't even think of her name but the gray-haired lady who's not supposed to be gray hair supposed to be brown hair and not that old I don't know why they decided to cast to the oldest people on the planet to play young people well I know why it's the same reason they've done everything else the people that write the stories to death they don't care Hollywood is always done this the only time they didn't is when Marvel first came out but after their success they decided let's just destroy every IP we can get our hands on whether it be Marvel DC Star Wars countless remakes that they've done on every other thing under the sun and none of the stories are any good unfortunately and much like you I've been playing this game since the beginning and when they showed Kevin Hart I was like that's not rolling and definitely when they showed the siren what are we going to do I mean I'm not going to go pay to watch it I'll just wait till it comes out on TV because I don't think it'll be worth it

First time I saw the trailer, I thought it was a joke. Then the horrible realization that it is real set in. No hype for this crap fest. Not a fan of Kevin Hart at all. Find his humor to be annoying. No chance I'm spending my money on this.

I doubt the majority played the game. I’m sure they had to learn a bit about the game but I can’t see more than maybe 2-3 people in that movie that would have played the originals so it’s hard to say

Pretty much couldn't agree with that more overall design and locations look fantastic! Just the main cast couldn't be more further from what should be and what needs to be , definitely could find cosplayers that could do a better job Just like everyone else says. Lilith needs to be in her mid to late twenties, Roland is a tall silent soldier, The only one that I'm probably willing to let slide is tannis. I could probably go on but yeah going to watch the movie and judge it As it is. but they really could have done a lot better than this 😣

The thing is Moxxxy, Tannis, and Lilith are all supposed to be hot and young, none of the cast for those people are that. Also, it's not a borderlands property without torque or brock.

I am so goddamn happy you did this video. I am a borderlands fanatic and I have been so depressed and complaining about this movie to everybody and nobody either cares or agrees. I HAVE STUFF TO SAY!!!!!!! First off: lets get the Lilith out of the way. She never hated Pandora otherwise she wouldn't have consistently lived there for years. She was much girlier. She didn't style her hair in a flip. She has a asymmetric bob that hangs over her eye. Borderlands 2 she wore the exact same outfit as 1 only you can tell she was involved in some explosion that tore half her clothes off and blew her hair to the side. in 3 its back styled down. AND WHERES HER TATTOOS?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Where's the lore about Sirens in general they're kinda a major important key to the plot 2.Arrianna Greenblat was DEFINITELY a miscast. My reasons include she really didn't give a shit about the borderlands franchise, decided to design Tiny Tina after Margot Robbie's Harley in hopes Margot Robbie would notice and cast her in Barbie. the movie she REALLY wanted to do. Tina was a badass but she wasn't stupid or argumentative. She was very smart and in the trailer Roland saying roll up the window, Tina would have responded "yessum soldia' man! Right away....rolllllling em up.....herrrreeee wweeee gooo" "Tina!" "OKAY OKAY Its I'm rolling it up! sheesh" Not "I DONT WANT TO" and then scream "ITS IN MY MOUTH!" She's melodic. She's clever and she has a very VERY horrible history of loss and going insane from the isolation. She had imaginary friends to keep her company usually made up of weaponry. Whenever Tina is on screen in this trailer she's yelling at someone or acting like a little shit. 3. Roland......Keven didn't think he was right for the role but Eli was like....No....you can do this I believe in you.... he would make a more believable Salvadore than Roland. Its insulting to the many black actors who are right for the part just to have a A listers name on the roster. 4. I whole heartedly agree psycho looks great but Im not expecting to be pleasantly surprised if we would be able to hear his internal thoughts while the actor voiced the psychobabble. They'll just not have him say much of anything and fine. 5. THE SONG FOR THE TRAILER IS SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Every trailer to a borderlands game GAVE ME CHILLS. they had hard techno and screen grabs that flashed along with the beats. Personally the Pre-Sequel moon dance trailer was my favorite. MY CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION: people from Hollywood need to STOP thinking they're are more talented than a team of artists and trying to rewrite and redesign things from a genre and try to make a movie out of it and then try to sell it back to its community which lets face it they're really attempting to just pawn it off to everybody else who doesn't know better. FALLOUT, the new show on Prime was the first time I have seen ANYTHING do a 100% perfect adaptation of game to live action I have every seen in my life. MY LIFE. EVERYTHING was perfect from plot to characters to props to casting, to the fucking soundtrack man. And guess what I have not seen 1 bad review, the fallout drying franchise got a resurgence in players, i know people who aren't gamers love the show and even take interest in the games after the fact. Borderlands would've been so much better if it was about Vault hunters seeing an ad from wherever planet they're from, calling for heroes to locate alien technology in a barren planet. On the way to Fyrstone, they each get some interception in their echo devices, a strange woman is appearing before their eyes, speaking without moving her lips.Ethereal. Offering guidance to the vault. Have the first game get summarized in the first 15 minutes of the film, discovering poor lonely Tannis on the way who always had my favorite Echo logs. SO FUNNY. And then she reappears in Sanctuary later, all the way to the destroyer battle. Flash forward to a scag getting hit by a train. on the train are four new vault hunters and we can have all the characters there in the order they're supposed to be. Roland obviously is gonna die early. Mordechai and bloodwing will be there. Brick and the slabs will be there. Tannis goes into horrid detail to her torture and having to witness her ceiling chairs being subjected to torture too. Let Handsome Jack be the ultimate villain, have Angel betray everybody and then revealed to be a siren. GIVE US WHAT WE WANT. STOP CHANGING SHIT WE DONT LIKE IT. The source material is perfect! You want to make your own movie with your weird band of "vault hunters" then make one just don't put the Borderlands name and loosely use the characters from it and expect it to get a good reaction. Im already pissed BL3 writing seemed to go downhill and they REALLY screwed up canonically with what they did to ALOT of my favorite characters. Like....Lillith was telepathically talking to us....but that all had to do with Angel's ability to control technology and was hooked into a mainframe-like system while charging the key. So that's why she lied and said she was an A.I. because she talked to everybody via their echo device....but whatever okay. Lilltih is telepathic now. And they seemed to have dumbed down my girl Tannis. She wasn't clever or fun to listen to. She actually was annoying me. And the actress they miscast to play live action Tannis that Appears in your mind when she phones you.....what was that thing? They have the ability to update Angel's appearance making her look more like a computer program almost like they were saying...."guys....this is what's happening...." so why cant they fix Tannis's face?! I don't get it?! Sorry. And all the articles saying this trailer NAILED the Borderlands vibe piss me off. NO! NO IT DOES NOT CARL FROM E-SHIT MAGAZINE! But hey bright side is this is gonna slowly fall into obscurity and a REAL Borderlands movie is gonna come out and people are gonna talk about it like.. I agree 110% about the casting, with only two exceptions, Salma Hayek as Moxxie, and I think Jamie Lee Curtis is great in her role. Recast everyone except Jamie Lee Curtis, redo the script, film a new, proper movie. Was really excited about this movie... Until I saw the trailer... Definitely a stream at home once released to the various streaming companies.

I remember reading some comments by author Larry Correia and his talk with some Hollywood bigwigs, when he had sold the movie or television rights to his bestselling Monster Hunter International series: the main character in the books is Owen Pitt, who is six and half feet tall, has the build of a power lifter, and mixed ethnic background. And looks pretty ugly. The general idea is that in spite of being quite intelligent he mostly gives the impression of being one of the dumb muscle types. About the only big name Hollywood actor who might sort of fit the description is Dwayne Johnson, if he had hair, except he is a bit too handsome. So, Correia had a lunch with these types while they kept throwing ideas as to which actor might want to and be available to play the character, and none of them looked at all like the character in the books. I think one alternative was Jake Gyllenhaal, and most of the others were prettier and shorter.
It hasn't happened, btw, and may not happen, according to Correia. Hollywood seems to be in the habit of buying rights they either never use, maybe to keep them out of reach of competitors, or will use only maybe decades later when they maybe need something, and no, they pretty much never are faithful to the original source, mostly just using those as a sort of jumping off point. But Correia got money, so he doesn't seem to be too disappointed. Anybody who has read the books however is - well, if we got even a sort of faithful adaptation anyway - because those stories would fit the big screen or the small very well. A little bit like the Supernatural series, except with a big commercial companies equipped with lots of firepower doing the hunting, with government approval, and getting paid to do it, even if all of it is kept secret and the government, or governments, everywhere, have special "Monster Bureau" departments helping to do that.
The only thing that would save this is a reveal within the movie itself that the trailer is for a shitty retelling in-universe and the actual cast and writing is completely different. Like the play episode in ATLA.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind that at all, it definitely needs the redemption!

The casting is all so bad, I expect the trailer to be a switcheroo-gotcha. When the actual movie comes out, the actual cast and dialogue will be different.

@@Vuntermonkeyvery few directors would make that choice, there is far too much to lose at that point, to hire very expensive actors like that only to have them be “gotcha” characters, they want to make profit from this movie, and seeing it from an objective perspective, it would be unreasonable to see this be a gotcha, but I do appreciate your opinion on the movie, it’s awesome to see other perspectives!!!

I am not a fan of any of the casting aside from tannis and krieg. I am mostly ok with tannis cause jamie lee curtis tends to do a lot of video game/horror conventions and cosplay and got into them and video games in general due to her son. So I am willing to bet she has at least played the games or did her reasrch to understand the movie/character to some degree. Krieg I am fine with the actor like you said they just need some slab of meat to play him and the costume looks fine I am just confused how they plan on having him in the movie without maya someone I think is core to his character.
I fully agree, I also don’t see why they chose to use Krieg instead of mord/brick, I’ll give them benefit of the doubt but with how they casted, I’m not sure how it will turn out, thanks for the comment. Much love❤

WELL I did'n't even know that Borderlands was a video game BUT your a purist and the Film company would rather have an audience volume of 10 - 15% of the mass market rather than 10% -15% of a much narrower market , i thought that kevin hart figure would have been better played by Eddie Murphy , if your going to have a fast talking hip kind of guy , the character played by Cate Blanchett could have been a young unknown BUT Blanchett is a name and an oscar winner , the same with Jamie Lee Curtis an oscar winner and a denizen of Halloween , Trading Places , a Fish called Wanda etc etc , names mean a residual market MIGHT come and see it , the same with Jack Black he's a name and you get funding for names BUT to make a movie true to the game you probablly would'nt get the funding , so no funding NO MOVIE (that's probably alright by you , but once the train is running it needs to wash it's face so names and special effects first (plus paying ELO for the music ) and a film for the purists unfortunately comes way down the list. FINALLY I LIKE THE LITTLE GIRL (She's cute and sexy , which is another reason to cast her I AM WAY TOO OLD FOR HER but i can look as probably many other men of my age would do , OK that's my take on this , if i get even 3 or 4 replies and comments I will be chuffed (that means happy here is England )
I appreciate the response! also hello from America! but as for the video i agree with your comment for the most part, i get the strategy that they are going for getting the big names in here, but my issue holsters itself in the idea that "if you're gonna make a movie based off of a game, atleast base it accurately or dont base it at all" as someone who looks at it as a fan rather than the masses, it saddens me. BUT i do believe it would be an alright movie for the general public, i just thing they should have went for a different topic of a movie, rather than a movie based off of a video game only for them to not try and show their respect to it, but thank you for the comment.

Roland is a quiet, simple almost shy person who doesn’t get any sort of humor. Tiny Tina scares me. She supposed to be a multi level 6 dimensional character who buries her pain and lost through just being off the wall crazy. Tina is legit crazy, piss on her would phase her more would probably laugh at the prospect before killing the closest bandit she could find.
I'm extremely worried about Krieg. I mean, he is most likely just gonna be comedy relief Which I understand. But learning more about Him I don't wanna see him Just as a brainless meat head And that's another thing how he speaks Are they gonna actually do it or are they gonna have him speaking normally sometimes?

What an amazing response! And to be honest, I’m not sure how they are going to treat krieg in this movie adaptation, because before he was our loving brain dead psycho, he was really well articulated and well spoken. I’m not sure where the timeline will be at but I hope they do it justice!

That’s totally fine! I simply disagree with the actress choice because it seems that she didn’t show off the proper personality of Tina, she didn’t come off bratty like Tina, rather she came off almost like an annoying sister, especially in the car scene, but I thank you for your input!

Bad thing is that I'll still end up buying the movie. That being said, they really should recast the whole lot. None of them make sense for the characters. I'm pretty sure the voice actress for Tiny Tina has done screen acting before and wouldn't mind playing that part. Scarlett Johannson would be a better fit for Lilith, though there maybe someone better for her.....hell, even Jennifer Anniston could pull it off. Keven Hart is no tough military dude like Roland is. And, I don't even know what the hell Jamie Lee Curtis's role is. Damn. Now that I think about it (other than Tiny Tina) there's not a role in that footage that's not filled by someone who's 50+. The only one that should be is Moxxie and my jury is still out on the actress they picked for her. I got nothing against older people (I'm damn near that age myself), but they're not anywhere close to the characters. I even tried squinting my eyes really hard and still can't picture them in those roles.
Ashly Burch is the VA for Tina and shes 33. Tina in 3 is 19. Could get the voice perfect but I don't think she could pull off 15-16ish. But given the casting...
Actually scratch that. And get her brother in to fix the writing. He was in for 2 but not for 3.
Thoughts on my recast picks: Michael B. Jordan for Roland, Karen Gillan or Scarlett Johansson for Lilth, Mary Elizabeth Winstead for Tannis. Ashly Burch for Tina.
Heck, Cate Blanchett might work for Moxxie. And that puts everyone but Ashly/Tina (who gets a pass) within like 5 years of their characters.

They arent making this game for the 1million borderlands nutriders to watch and barely make any monies just to keep some MtnDew Chuggin Neckbeards happy, They are making a movie for E v e r y o n e. Not every fan of the games hates the movie, and the people that have never played the game will see this movie and probably pick it up. THAT is the point of this film, Not to get Fans of the game to watch the movie then log on to borderlands to play it. This was NEVER stated to be a Game movie, It was always meant to be a Movie Based in the Borderlands universe. Shit Y'all can accept Multiverse's in Marvel and DC but god-for-fucking-bid
im confused on where you think that for them to make it this way that it wouldnt be for anyone that isnt fan based otherwise, even if they made it lore accurate, character accurate, and humor accurate, it wouldnt ruin the views on it, it would just be a net gain, it would still be for "E v e r y o n e". and sure, im sure there will be people who pick the game up after watching, but i promise you once they invest the money, time and effort into understanding the game, they will see the defining difference between the movie adaptation and the game series, i also dont think it's require to be stated that a movie is supposed to be repurposed for a video game or not, the point of the matter is that its borderlands the movie, they obviously have quite a bit of lining between the two, as for DC and such, most of those to get bashed, and when they dont its because they dont mess up nearly as badly compared to this movie,

They outright said that They picked parts of the Story that they liked and used them. Dude is bitching about a video game that over the course of itself has had different Characters EACH AND EVERY Game with very few of them Like Vaughn and Moxxie Showing up throughout the Games.
@justineseman3741 I understand it’s in a different universe within a a storyline that isn’t set in stone to the actual game, I mention in the video that I’m looking at it through as someone who grew up on this game, seeing a game altered to a movie to this degree is saddening, they made it for the masses, and not for the fans, if they were wanting a movie for the masses they could have very well made a movie that wasn’t brought by a game in the first place, they knew that making a movie that started out as a game would cause this issue, there are a lot of series/movies that can both be made to appeal to the masses and the fans and so it very well (I.e, the last of us) I really don’t think hiding behind a comment of “it’s not the same universe” can really justify how terrible of a decision they have made trying to turn a fan based game into a masses targeted movie, and yes have only seen the trailer, but I said in the story that this is only the trailer, and I’m simply going off of it, please understand that directors don’t need to switch the movie setting at all to appeal to masses and fans, they did this decision and it was wrong to most of us, thanks for the comments, have a good day!

I agree, I typically wouldn’t mind an age difference in movies but when you can physically tell they are YEARS apart from the character they’re trying to act as, it pull me out of the story, but I hope she does well because she’s been to conventions and such, I hope she did her studying!

@@dariusfox7486 I doubt it, it’s one thing to change an appearance of an animated character, but it’s a lot harder and pricey to replace the cast of people, and make them redo takes that the old cast did, and change the voices to the new people, I doubt they will sadly
At least with the trailer, Amazon did something right with Fallout. They seem to have paid attention to the lore and other details. With this one, I say if you're not going to do it right, just don't.

i disagree. i think that because of how theyre releasing it and have already stated its not part of borderlands cannon but instead a new story that it could work out. i know a lot of people arent going to watch because its not their characters that they wanted to see but i think it still has an ability to be a good movie.
