I enjoy my 12pk Albrecht Durer pencils best, filled by the 12pk of Caran D’ache Museum Aquarelle. I also love Inktense for a punchier look. Actually, I have quite a few brands that came in subscription boxes. ALSO, how did I miss this video?? Whispa doing well. Woken me a few times, on this her first night, shouting for Emma, but I just woke to her lying on my hip - progress!! ❤️🖌️🎨👩🏻🎨😻

I'm a glazer whether it's with watercolours or pencils or watercolour pencils. These work incredibly well for that technique..
I do a light layer first up by scribbling on a caram d arche palette placing cools and warms and values. Let that dry completely.
Then I'll slowly build up values and intensity colouring very lightly and wetting small areas at time and washing my brush regularly. Until I'm happy with the saturation.
Then I will go through and apply my darks to get my darkest darks and will use the whites wet pencil on dry to improve my highlights if they need doing.
Then I'll add any extra details that need to be added.
I get amazing botanicals with these pencils using this technique. Subtle, detailed and almost photorealistic.
Like you said they will suit different styles.
