    One thing people rarely talk about is how fasting changes you as a person. I started fasting for weight/health, but after every long term fast I notice my goals are different, my habits are different, my values are different. Fasting is a metamorphosis for the body, mind and spirit.

      The reason no one talks about it "changing you mind" is because there is no factual evidence that would support that. We can measure how people feel but that will most likely be up to placebo than the fasting.
      Fasting is not a metamorphosis. Its a good physiological and psychological trick to loose weight and not feel hunger. A lazy person wont become productive cause of fasting.
      If you want change there is a higher chance youll change. That is due to you and not the fasting.

      "Fasting I a metamorphosis..." Which it's objectively not. You also miss credit fasting for being the cause which may lead to stupid people on UA-cam thinking it will solve their problems. Which it won't.
      You shouldn't make unfactual objective claims if it's your own subjective opinion...

No food Mon - Wed and eat clean keto Thurs - Sunday. I was a little sad that I had to eat after the 30 day fast. I never felt better. Depending on how much carbohydrates you eat before a fast you can get depleted as soon as 12 hours or less, depending on if that meal the night before was low in carbohydrates. Keto also is recommended before a fast to get your body fat adapted prior to a fast and makes dealing with hunger easier.

    I fasted 6 days and was losing 3 lbs per day... I ended up losing over 85 lbs in a little over 2 months. Fasting absolutely works great and you feel amazing. Your body turns on some sort of survival mode and you feel so awesome. It makes you realize how much the shit you are eating is making you feel terrible. (at least for me)... Unfortunately, You will gain it back as soon as you start eating, unless you intentionally change your diet.

      What did you drink during your fast?

    • @calholli
      @calholli 3 роки тому +1

      @@jamesthompson5717 Nothing but water. Just water. -- and one multivitam per day. Every now and then I would intuitively toss back some salt, not sure why, I just felt like It would be nice to get a punch of taste in the mouth.. But then later I found "snake juice' (which is basically just salt water) -- and realized how true it is, he knows what he is talking about... I had just found out my girlfriend of 8 years, and two kids-- was cheating on me with more than one guy. she's always been morally degenerate, and a loser in that way--- so Its really my own fault for every messing with such a whore. You can't like what whores do and then expect them not to be a whore.... so anyway, I as emotionally destroyed during that time, so that is really what was driving the fast.. it just started out as a day or two of not eating just by emotional turmoil.. But I already knew about "the man that went 383 days without eating" (look that up)-- and I seen how easy it was to not eat for those first two days. SO i just decided to intentionally keep going, and despite my emotional destruction, after a few days, I felt physically amazing. I could tell that my intestines were completely washed clean and it felt great, actually being "Empty. You real feel that lots of things turn on, it is actaully certain genes turning on as you adapt to your new situation. When you have a lot of fat, it feels very healthy-- and you have plenty of energy to burn. I was losing over 3lbs per day, every day.. Even on the 6th day, I didnt' need to eat, I could have kept going; and even after I did eat, this long fast and weight loss motivated me a lot to keep eating well and that's how I kept losing even more weight. I got down to 194 from 285 lbs at my biggest... That was like a year ago now, and unfortunately I have since gotten back with this woman for the sake of my kids-- and I've balloned back to 250 lbs, because its a lot harder to lose weight around her, she cooks well and feeds me all the time. lol.. But also, gives me head a lot, so I become even more complusive, and eating just becomes another pleasure. Being with her makes me stay filled with regret and constantly brings me down and its hard to get back to that "motivation and hope for change"--- but my kids are happy, they have both parents, and we get along just fine... so this is my path for now---- I tried to do another fast, I made it 3 days, and quickly gained it back-- so its just a matter of pulling myself out of this hell hole of felling sorry for myself and jsut DOING IT> The fasting part is easy to do, its just the will power, compulsion, desire for pleasure and lack of motivation to do it that its hard to overcome. Its hard to fast and do good in your life if you don't give a fuck.

      If you feel dizzy add salt to the water.
      Start eating small portions after the fast. Especially when you fast longer than 3 days.
      Refeeding syndrome can occur after 5 day fasts so be careful and eat just a bit after the fasts.

    Question: I know it sounds pathetic but could you give advice on how to deal with being ugly as fuck. I feel like I can't express my true essence to people because my face doesn't represent it. Not to mention attracting any female. Isn't physical attractiveness an integral charasteristic of what God made to be a man? I feel like shooting myself everytime I look in the mirror and all motivation to be the strongest version of myself vanishes because my internal voice conflicts so strongly with my physical essence. I also have severe joint pain and cannot build muscle. I've been robbed of the most basic level of what it means to be a man: the physical level.

    • @nikjoel5502

      If anything it sounds like you need to change your internal. It’s negative and conflicting. You said “I can’t express my true essence to people because my face doesn’t represent it”. You have an ideal that you’re holding onto in your head, of how person A(“true essence” acts. But internally you view yourself as person B. You need to change your internal dialogue first. The world is a mirror of your thoughts, conscious and subconcious. Once you change your thoughts you will change your life. Stop labelling yourself as “ugly”. That sounds simple. To just stop right? How about you change your perspective, beauty and ugliness are mere opinions, time changes and so do your looks for better and for worse. Lastly, from your last sentence “Iv been robbed”. You’re playing a victim role in your life, like life owes you something and you have been robbed. The best you can do is to see the cards you’ve been dealt and play the best damn game you can play with those cards. That takes more courage, to accept and own what you cannot change but use it to your advantage. In conclusion, take control of your life and your emotions(there are many tools to do this). Step 2, meditate go for walks clear your head get off social media for a few hours and listen to your thoughts, are they negative? Confront them, understand them, change them. Step 3, don’t take other people’s opinions to heart, people are to busy focused on their own insecurities and issues to care about yours. And if they do point something out, again it is just a reflection on themselves. Take care and be kind to yourself.

I haven't seen anyone talk about a fast schedule this intense and wonder what others think about it, what are possible side effects. I will be taking vitamins and vitamin B complex with my meal, heavy in protein as well. My goal is to lose 20lbs more so it isnt something I am doing long term.

      You can definitely lift during a 72 hour, I do. I would suggest that this is not a time to PR on any lifts you are trying to lift heavier, as your body may not have the glycogen stores to fuel you. I use a kettlebell and perform ladders and rungs of presses, pulls, squats, swings, and carrying the weight for grip/work capacity. Very efficient way to keep your body's natural movement patterns while burning fat. Make sure you have a decent meal before you start, eggs+steak or fish+avocados, lots of fat to fuel you for that time.
