Also another cheap hack for your suits. When it rains & you don’t have a suit bag handy. Just use your trash bag & cover your suits up with it to protect them from the rain.
Noooo... Don't fold the shoulder pad the other direction... it has tailoring built into it and it forces the shape the other direction and can damage the shape of the pad.
If you paid $150 for a cheap off the rack suit at Walmart, fold it like that and then steam it in the bathroom. If you have a MTM or bespoke suit that cost you $5K and you fold it like that or god forbid, hang it in the bathroom to “steam” away the wrinkles, that’s a crime against humanity and you should be tarred and feathered. Either step would ruin the construction of the suit (unless it’s a linen, unstructured, unlined fabric.) There are layers built inside a suit - shoulders, lapels etc that would get absolutely destroyed - by steam in particular. YT can be a blessing and a curse at times… advice like this is scary. Maybe he means well, but no. Just don’t.
I don't know why I'd never thought of this, but hanging your clothes while you are taking a shower is so freaking genius.
