Those old real American trucks have more real material in them then three modern ones. They posess more soul from the hands of real Americans who built them too. We need to get back to this for more reasons imaginable not just for production shortcuts and robot lines but teaching everyone what is life , resposibility and values of a trade and unity to a majority of People that have lost this.
That is beautiful. I used to have a 72’ 1110, with the 392 engine. It sure needed lots of work done to it & at the time I didn’t have the money like I do now to fix it up like I wanted. I was under the impression that I was able to leave it parked in my grandparents driveway. My grandfather & their neighbor pushed it out into the street, was parked in the same spot for more than 72 hours, & was eventually towed. I didn’t know the tow truck was already there & was not able to save it.
Love that people are tak8ng old school 4x4's and putting modern parts in them and using them. Old Bronco's, Blazers, Scouts, Suburbans, Willys Wagons and Pickups and full size trucks and old Jeep Wagoneers and Cherokee Chief's. Watching them pull restored campers is so cool, makes for great times at campgrounds. Seems campgrounds arevthe new unofficial classic car shows.
Learned to drive in a '66 Travelall. They were good vehicles. Mine was a 1 in 10,000 LEMON. Real high-maintainence clunker. Junked it in '79. Lotta good memories though!
I'll hopefully be trading my OBS F350 for a 73 IH 1010 equipped with a 4bt cummins and hope to join the journey of slowing restoring it in my own type of way! Loved the video and you guys did an amazing job on the ole truck!
Love the vids and the work Sean and Team...keep it up...can't wait to get mine in there! I especially like the Anything Scout badge...are those for sale?
Definitely not saying this is the right thing for everybody, but it does undeniably change the experience. I own a scout with an stock IH drive train and one with a modern drive train, each have their place. Thanks.
Love the Travelall - We had three or four of them when I was a kid growing up (no 4X4's, just rear wheel drive). How difficult was fitting the swap into this truck?
People who buy and restore these have loads of disposable cash. Even if you can afford the car these guys charge ridiculous amounts to restore it. Now add on an Air Stream? Great vid but sad working folks cant afford it.
Hard to please everyone but we feel we offer resources and information for all types of incomes.. Whether its as simple as buying new/used parts from our website to work on the rig on your own, to going all out and restoring it. We leave it up to the people to decide what they want to do with their Scout, we don't tell anyone how to spend their money.
I know this is a year old but I have a 72 1210 4x4 which is basically the pickup version of travelall. It has 38,000 original miles always been in the family since new. The 345 in it gets 10mpg if your lucky and it only guzzles premium it will blow apart the spark plugs if you put the cheap gas in it. IH engines are notorious for poor fuel mileage .
@@resolutelane2175 I honestly don't know probably champions thats whats in most of the machines. To be fair It only did it once pulling a john deere A on a trailer up a hill. It doesn't detonate unless its working hard. But im not about to push my luck on a machine that gets driven 500 miles a year max.
You guys do great work. Beautiful trucks.
thank you!

Getting back to the roots. Simple times.

@@wyattnyfeler7270 I gotta wait for my stimulus unfortunately.
thanks for this video and thanks for this nice restoration
Had a Travelall through high school and college. This video made me misty for these times.
Good times no doubt.
Awesome, awesome, awesome. Street is neat but farms a charm!😉
Me gusta la camioneta una International Harvester Travelall 1971; está muy bonita; saludos.
Awesome truck I says!

I hope you covered the underside with the toughest skin, because going back East is a rustbucket waiting to happen.

Beautiful Travelall.
Thank you for your message reply and you most welcome to UAE
Love it
thats one nice ride love i h
Nice - I am doing something similar with my 66 1100a. I may bring it out for a LS and Axle swap. Be next year till I get around to it. :)
Beautiful rig big IH fan have several, not a big fan of Chevy in ih like to keep pure but at least you didn't use ford for swap. Good job on build.

Awesome 👌
Nice Chevy truck.
It is what it is. Stop by sometime and drive one, then you can be justified in your distaste.
What year of front and rear axles did you use for this built
Will you be offering LS swap engine / trans mounts for the Travelall /Travelette? Thanks!
Unfortunately, at this point we don't have enough demand to put in the R & D to make production mounts.
@@anythingscout , thank for the reply ! Also, thanks for posting videos of your excellent builds!
What about an online pdf we can download and use you're schematics?
I like this but for towing I think I would’ve went with a 5.9 Cummins or a 7.3 Powersteoke.

There's lots of room in there and its not too bad. But its not a specialty of ours and took a fair amount of custom work.
Form follows function, not built for bragging Wright's!
What did you sell it for?
Hey wait a minute. That have another gas tank on the front right passenger side isnt it?
How did you fit disc brakes under those tiny rims?
My 1972 travall 2wd came with disk brakes
j turned 16 n got the 71 harvester passed down to me
What side mirrors are those and do you sell them?
Those are our Retro side mirrors, unfortunately we no longer have them available in chrome. Only black.
that 1971 IHC Travelall could use a overdrive transmission....
You say keep it stock yet you threw a Gm engine in it. Just goes to show some people dont know how to tune them old engines.
who doesn't know how to tune them old engines?
what R U asking for it
This was a commissioned build for a customer and is not currently for sale.

Maybe work harder, or a career change. It's out there if you want it bad enough
The IH 392 can easily get 14mpg. What does it get now with the L99?
Better. But it also has 120+ hp.

@@ohlookadragon what kind of spark plugs are you using? I use autolite 303s and they last for years and thousands of miles on regular gas
