Loved your reaction. Pink Floyd is my all time favorite band and they are so profound and ahead of their time. Gorgeously talented band of handsome young men in 73. Going to check out your other videos. Thank you.
Your friend Bev totally got it and was visibly enthralled - I seriously suggest "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" which is sooo beautiful she is going to be utterly mesmerized & happy, in a musical hypnotic state of pure bliss ! [ I'm deadly serious ! ] - The song is dedicated to their close friend & founder of Pink Floyd - Syd Barrett without whom there would be no Pink Floyd. He took too much LSD and became lost in his own mind for years in a mental institution. He was a beautiful young man. During recording that song, he turned up after many years, literally just stood in the doorway, a sad shadow of himself barely recognizable and a total shock to the group. The lyrics depict this. The whole album is basically dedicated to Sid, & 'Shine On' ....is the opening track. Sid has since sadly passed away. [ Listen to the song "See Emily Play" - It was a hit single with Sid on vocals ]
I was lucky enough to have seen them back in the early 80's at a stadium. Best show I've ever been to. And at night with the stars above and the light show just blew me away.
You're right. The members of Pink Floyd were really young at the time (Wright and Waters were born in 1943, Mason in 1944 and Gilmour in 1946). It's unbelievable how they wrote the lyrics and made great music. It's phenomenal! Listen to their work and you will surely become their fans. Every song has something to say ...
Nice job, ladies. Thanks for not Interrupting the song, or talking over it - i get all the reactions i need from face and body. During the play, words just get in the way.
Interesting about your comment about the prism. The album actually had a black wrapper over it and the prism wasn't revealed until the wrapping was removed.
It always makes me laugh that pink Floyd were dismissed as dinosaurs in the late 70s and early 80s by music press in UK. 40 years later pink Floyd still going strong. Love seeing people discovering this band for the first time like these lovely ladies.
Hi Cash, hi Bev 👋 ( "Bev" is my aunt's name, btw 😀) I always loved Pink Floyd, and this is one of my favs ! I always thought they were incredibly creative and ingenious as artists, and their albums stand out for me beyond the rest 🙂🎶
Wasn't always keen on Roger Waters' lyrics, he was a bit political, but Dave Gilmour is a hero. He also 'discovered' Kate Bush, so that's another essential musical vault to plunder.
I grew up with this music. I resonate with others here that listening to the album in its entirety is a must, and wine wouldn’t hurt. If not for your channel, do it for yourself. First time watching a video from your channel. I enjoyed it. I’ll be back.
Pink Floyd is one of my all time favorite bands and I have been listening to this album for 40 plus years. I literally get chills every time I listen to the guitar solo in this song.
I love the part where it says about home, home again, i like to be here when i can and the dalmation wanders past as if to say ‘yup’. You two looking fabulous, greetings from Scotland x
In '73, they were in their 20's (I was too). Pink Floyd in concert was like no other and I am fortunate to have seen them 3x. In concert, their light show alone was worth the price of admission. You can experience that with videos from their album, "Pulse". Your reaction to this was priceless. Thank you.
Today's mysteriouso quiz question is how can two young ladies interested in music reach the age of "29-Again" without having this album in their record collection already? I'm completely dumbfounded. One of my first vinyl purchases as soon as I got my hands on my student grant money in 1980, along with Beatles, ELO, and Fleetwood Mac, and quite a few others. Better open that second bottle of wine for me - things always make more sense after the second one! Glad you both loved it.

One of the best selling albums of all "time", for good reason. DSotM stayed on the charts for years longer than any other album. 68 now, I was 20 when it came out. Album rock on the radio at that "time" meant that it often got played start to finish, as it was meant to be experienced. Today, people's attention spans are just too short. Very few people give anything enough "time".
Quoting Wikipedia (for those who are reading this in the future) "Upon a change in chart methodology in 2009 allowing catalogue titles to be included in the Billboard 200, The Dark Side of the Moon returned to the chart at number 189 on 12 December of that year for its 742nd charting week. It has continued to sporadically appear on the Billboard 200 since then, with the total at 958 weeks on the chart as of July 2021"....."One in every fourteen people in the US under the age of 50 is estimated to own, or to have owned, a copy."
This album was in the top 400 worldwide for 741 consecutive weeks!! Update: correction, after further review it was in the top 200 for over 740 consecutive weeks from (March 1973 to July of 1988) .
I really want you two to pack a bowl and put those headphones back on and listen to this entire album, beginning to end, the way God intended it. I would put that video on repeat!
Well Roger Waters wrote the lyrics… But then I guess he was also dealing with Roger. Really though, the interpersonal issues weren’t showing yet at this point.
I have only seen Pink Floyd LIVE once in my life. The concert was absolutely amazing. The sound system was set up in a "surround sound" format that i have never seen or heard since. The light show was unlike anything i had ever seen. They had a huge round screen behind them and the imagery on the screen was timed perfectly to the music. They started out by doing 3 songs from "Wish You Were Here". The lights went out then and after a very brief pause you could hear a very distinct heart beat that got louder and louder and then the alarm clocks kicked in. They played the WHOLE Dark Side of the Moon album cut for cut. It was an INCREDIBLE experience.... easily one of the very best concerts i've ever seen and I've gone to a LOT of concerts. :-)
The relevance of this song as I get older is unbelievable. I tried to comment on your channel before I'm afraid I messed it up so I'll try again. I've been first went down the Pink Floyd rabbit hole over 40 years ago and Thanks to 2 wine loving girls it looks like I'm never going to escape. Many thanks.
To me it seems weird to read lyrics while listening to music, especially if hearing a song for the first time. It detracts from the spontaneity of the listening experience. Maybe I'm the weird one, because most reactions seem to do it. But I much rather just hear the lyrics as they are sung. With good music, you are meant to be lost in the moment as you experience it, it seems to me. So it's hard for me to understand why anybody would want to listen to music that way, while reading ahead in the lyrics.
Glad you enjoyed Pink Floyd ladies, fantastic album, I’ve grew up with this band, now retired and still listen to them nearly every day. Beautiful dog in the background, please listen to more Pink Floyd albums, you won’t go wrong. Kind regards from Scotland 🏴 Johnny
The main theme of this album being: “WHAT DRIVES PEOPLE CRAZY”, guides the interpretation of each song. (BREATHE); If the performance required in life can drive people crazy. (ON THE RUN); If the frantic rush of life can drive people crazy. (TIME); If the fleeting aspect of passing time can drive people crazy. (THE GREAT GIG IN THE SKY); If the inevitable end, (death) can drive people crazy. (MONEY); If love, or lack of money can drive people crazy. (US AND THEM); If the differences in class of people or the power grant to them can drive people crazy. (ANY COLOR YOU LIKE); If the illusion of being able to choose can drive people crazy. (BRAIN DAMAGE); If the many rules of life and all the previous points can drive people crazy. (ECLIPSE); Since our influence in this world comes down to what is within our reach, then even though the brightness of the sun may be eclipsed by the darkness of the moon. But anyway, (I'll see you on the dark side of the moon).
Song was written pretty poetically, but its David's Guitar work that is bad to the bone. David said that he like his sound to be like a sonic razor blade slicing peoples ears, and thats what rockers dig about the whole album. The dude can jam on the 6 strings. Lyrics, nah....Guitar heck yeah!
You have to do the Pulse live version of Comfortably Numb. Despite everyone reacting to this, and I as a Floyd fan, should probably find it a little clichéd, it is one of the finest performances committed to the archives, by anybody. You had better get a case in.
Yes, please listen to the entire album. I was 11 years old in 1973 when this album came out and had just gone to my first concert when my parents asked me if I would like to go to another concert, this time it was Pink Floyd in Jersey City, NJ. By the end of the night I wasn't the same kid who had walked through those gates. It was truly, truly life altering. Over the years I've traveled thousands of miles and even went to another country to see them an additional 15 times (in one form or another, with and without Roger Waters and Roger Waters solo 2x). Their music is, I don't even have the words, phenomenal? And their shows are the best live concert show you could ever see and hear.
Could be interesting to watch a couple suburban moms or grandmas react to *Tom McDonald* music & see the conversation it starts especially in today's politically correct, woke cultural climate

Ah, listening to Floyd stoned maybe with a cup of coffee is really the best.
@@lewstone5430 yorkshire tea....lol.....
Their music has a hypnotic quality. Long instrumental passages are not a signal for you to jabber about it.

I never enjoyed a “reaction” video this much, good intelligent comments from two beautiful ladies, greetings from the UK, well done - thank you!
AN ABSOLUTE MUST HEAR CLASSIC WITH AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR US ALL,,
RALPH MCTELL "STREETS OF LONDON"
Nice job, ladies. Thanks for not Interrupting the song, or talking over it - i get all the reactions i need from face and body. During the play, words just get in the way.
Purchased this album when it first came out at the head shop, was 15 I liked the prism on it that attracted me, then listened to it, fan ever since.
Interesting about your comment about the prism. The album actually had a black wrapper over it and the prism wasn't revealed until the wrapping was removed.
It’s so great to go back and listen to these masterpieces with nice headphones.
It always makes me laugh that pink Floyd were dismissed as dinosaurs in the late 70s and early 80s by music press in UK. 40 years later pink Floyd still going strong. Love seeing people discovering this band for the first time like these lovely ladies.
What makes you think this was their first time? There's no indication of that.
Hi Cash, hi Bev 👋
( "Bev" is my aunt's name, btw 😀)
I always loved Pink Floyd, and this is one of my favs !
@@davemac1197yes, I kinda know what your mean here.....
@Paul - I would certainly say "chippy". At least one on each shoulder!
Thank you for tuning in and your comments...The Dal says a lot of things🐾🐾🍷🍷
The Dark Side Of The Moon, one of the most profound albums ever, much love from the far north of New Zealand!
Enjoyed your take on this song. Definitely a song that has always made me think about life when I'm listening to it.
Indeed🍷🍷
I found out about Pink Floyd in 1980 and figured it was WAY ahead of its time. Love it just as much to day.
With floyd you always have to ask why . Everything they do has a connection , it’s called Time so they test our ability to just take time and listen
In '73, they were in their 20's (I was too). Pink Floyd in concert was like no other and I am fortunate to have seen them 3x. In concert, their light show alone was worth the price of admission. You can experience that with videos from their album, "Pulse". Your reaction to this was priceless. Thank you.
Lucky you🍷🍷
Today's mysteriouso quiz question is how can two young ladies interested in music reach the age of "29-Again" without having this album in their record collection already? I'm completely dumbfounded. One of my first vinyl purchases as soon as I got my hands on my student grant money in 1980, along with Beatles, ELO, and Fleetwood Mac, and quite a few others. Better open that second bottle of wine for me - things always make more sense after the second one! Glad you both loved it.
Yes...totally agree...we must have been "otherwise occupied"...lol
@@cathydammeyer8399 - ah, Miss Spent Youth!
Agreed. 'Dark side Of The Moon' was my first record. Bought when I was 15 in 1974. Paid for with my lawn mowing money. Been a life long fan ever since. Got all their albums even their earlier ones.
@@785boats - I remember getting The Final Cut in my final year at Uni, and The Wall was previously released when I was in Sixth Form at school. Seems like several liftimes ago!
@@davemac1197 Another brilliant album. Now have another listen to it, and feel all those memories of the time come flooding back.
Ladies! A toast to you both! Loved your rection, I grew up with Floyd. X
I was a junior in high school when this came out. Seems we always listened to it around 4:20.
The first time I listened to this album I was lying on my bed with the speakers at my ears and when the alarm clocks went off I flew 5 feet off my bed. First time listening to your reactions so please send me more.
You 2 lovely ladies look like you weren't even born when this was released, bless you both, please adopt me👍❤️🇬🇧
Check them out live.
Pulse concert at Earls Court 1994, I was there and you won't see a better gig for the music light show and general composition❤️
Lol...thanks🍷🍷
Two beautiful ladies listening to my favorite Floyd song.
Agree🍷🍷
I'm 62 and I am looking forward to more of your reactions I have truly enjoyed myself first-time watcher
Thanks and hope we meet your expectations...we know we won't please everyone...just being fresh and honest🍷🍷
This album was in the top 400 worldwide for 741 consecutive weeks!! Update: correction, after further review it was in the top 200 for over 740 consecutive weeks from (March 1973 to July of 1988) .
Pink Floyd should not be critiqued because the songs should NOT be interrupted. Thank you ladies.
I really want you two to pack a bowl and put those headphones back on and listen to this entire album, beginning to end, the way God intended it. I would put that video on repeat!
Good suggestion🍷🍷
Made a new fan today. Thanks for kicking my morning coffee off properly today ladies!
"It's fascinating to know what they might have been dealing with"; Roger, they were dealing with Roger Waters then haha, cool reaction vid, thanks
Yes...thats exactly what I had wondered!!!
Lot's of kid gloves got used, for sure! 😁
“Dark Side Of The Moon”…..Floyd’s masterpiece.
🍷🍷🍷🍷
Kind regards from Scotland 🏴

(ECLIPSE); Since our influence in this world comes down to what is within our reach,
then even though the brightness of the sun may be eclipsed by the darkness of the moon.
But anyway, (I'll see you on the dark side of the moon).
Love the music and I love you ladies reaction. Great work!

Really appreciate your comments🍷🍷
Song was written pretty poetically, but its David's Guitar work that is bad to the bone. David said that he like his sound to be like a sonic razor blade slicing peoples ears, and thats what rockers dig about the whole album. The dude can jam on the 6 strings. Lyrics, nah....Guitar heck yeah!
What's really cool about the song "Time", it plays at a half-tempo of 60 beats per minute. I've always wondered if Pink Floyd did that intentionally.
You have to do the Pulse live version of Comfortably Numb.
Despite everyone reacting to this, and I as a Floyd fan, should probably find it a little clichéd, it is one of the finest performances committed to the archives, by anybody.
You had better get a case in.
Yes, yes, yes. You'll see how the band has aged with the rest of us. David Gilmour guitar solo- incredible! 😀
To fully appreciate the Pulse version, one must listen to the studio version first. The studio version is magical. The Pulse version is spectacle.
I am 68 and have listened to Pink Floyd forever and still do. Their music and their concerts are like no other. Enjoy ladies. Their collection is all very interesting and unique. Harmony is within their music.
Thank you and great comments🍷🍷
.......listened to this album in 1974 as a 12 yr old for the first time......didn't have any headphones so I laid down and put both speakers near my ears..........oh my........AMAZING.........so much going on in this album, and all of it absolutely brilliant.
Great song chose, ladies. You won't be disappointed, It's a truly fabulous song by the legendary Pink Floyd, here!.
