    What is smart with your design approach is the way you speak about global languages of products, indeed if you look how architecture and even military stuff follows cultural sign. Societies have always the wish to design stuff which can fit to their identity, culture, traditions and even environment. Congrat !

    Feng Zhu thank you so much for taking the time to continue this series! It's so enriching to see how different pieces of artistic quora come together to form an ordered whole.

    It’s a fun exercise to watch this and then watch Gundam Hathaway, which features so many of the things featured here, like the material combination stuff being in the intro of the movie, or military/mechanical design being in the middle. The 3D and 2D design in that movie are amazing and feel real. It features a luxury space cruise with real life technology, beautiful HUD and cool military designs.
    The Martian is another movie I feel really puts together a lot of good design.

    These design ones have probably been the most helpful ones yet. It's hard to find good information on design with strong visual examples

    Once again Feng thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to do these videos. I'm currently struggling with a project I'm working on and your suggestions might have put me on a path to solve some of aesthetic issues. Laziness in research is something I need to fix. Looking forward to the next one!

    U should also read " The Swarm" ! It´s pretty heavy (1000pages )but it´s so frckin good. It shows a whole nother view on life in scifi. I think no movie or game has adopted that yet.

    i like the freedom of scifi because just about anything goes. I'm former military (automotive) and worked in aviation. Also familiar with the design process from commercial design graphics courses. (non-digital). Tells you how old i am...

    it is just gold, for everyone, look how much value Feng Zhu managed to produce, it is valuable and entertaining for both of us, and this is what I really think it should be done in this way. it really is refreshing and inspiring for both of us, Feng and we are both learning, progressing, but exciting and happy.

    Very interesting insights in this topic. I'm planning on creating a sci-fi Story myself. Therefore I started reading tons of books and websites about cosmology, astronomy and stuff. I also want to read about sociology and astrobiology. lots of research.
    But I find it hard to follow on screen because of you scrolling back and forth so much. It's confusing and tiring over time. But I'm interested in the next part.

    Apple and Google will eventually build their own military, Google was acquiring its seventh robotics company not so far ago: boston dynamics, a military-oriented one.

    not everything is apple, not everything in UI designs originates apple, always apple as examples sounds like someone is a serious fanboi, doesnt help to the topic though, i have no idea what youre talking about and what scifi has to do with apple

    Feng does not actually teach at his school! He barely shows up now! Ask students currently in term - it's verified.
    Pass this comment so that less people get scammed!

      Feng not being there every day as a full time instructor is actually reflected on the FZD website! And aside from that, all the other instructors are more than capable, and have extensive knowledge to share if you're willing to learn :)

    • @zoraxbrooks
      @zoraxbrooks 7 років тому +13

      scammed how? what did you expect? for feng to teach everyone? he's got industry work to do, just because feng isn't the one teaching doesn't mean the ones that are aren't capable, feng's not the only competent concept artist in the world you know... i've never gone there but that's not enough information to base your opinion on.
      Also i'm pretty sure even feng has said it himself that he doesn't teach there that much any more.
