I have spent the majority of the month of February watching these damn videos from the every beginning.
Christ, this guy's work is mind numbingly brilliant. I'm still totally awed by every piece of art on his site. And the most astounding thing is, he produces masterpieces so effortlessly. Feng Zhu is to art what Bruce Lee was to the martial arts.
Splitting it up in silent demos and podcasts would be great.
podcast idea is so good!
I suggest you do the podcast on a still image and post it on UA-cam as well
so that people on UA-cam who are totally into design cinema won't miss an episode either
Podcast would be great Feng!
Love the podcast idea!! :)
Been waiting for so long! Glad to see the next episode.
And a podcast would be amazing! A lot of us listen to your videos while drawing and working so an audio format is great.
The podcast seems realy interesting :D
Could be nice to talk about what do you think about the desings of this or that film, references, ideas :)
yey! new episode! long time no see :)
As always an Exceptional and Professional Instruction, Thank You!
Man, all the years I've been following Design Cinema I've been DYING to know more about this topic! Thank you Feng!
I think the podcast is a great idea! I love seeing you paint but if I have to choose between a podcast or no content at all then the choice is a no-brainer.
For the series to continue I believe the most imporant thing is that *you* enjoy making these, so do whatever you think works best!
Pod cast will be awesome, we can listen while doing some work. thank you for all the hardwork
Thanks Feng for another wonderful video. That final painting is dope.
No need to apologize for any delays. If podcasts help make Design Cinema easier for you, then do it! But I love listening to you speak while you demonstrate on screen. Love FZD and thank you Feng :)
I like to play your videos while I work, just to hear you talking about design, production etc... then, yeah, podcasts would be great! :)
I'm calling it! Feng Zhu's new business is a game studio and he's working on his own video game!
Congrats on the company, and welcome back to UA-cam! Been missing your lectures and demos on here.
Perfect video to start the day with ! Thanks Feng!
Podcast YEEEHAAAA
nowadays I just setup the camera in blender to the right focal length , block in elements of the scene using modified primitves and then do a quick cycles render and screengrab : afterwards I just proceed to photoshop for resize and painting over it all.
That said I only do that stuff after I understood how perspective works and how to draw it the classical way, that I learn from Scott Robertson's book. Cause I think its important to understand it first.
This is the BEST EVER VIDEO OF FZD.
Feng, whatever you decide to do is great.
Real time drawing? Great
Sped up drawing? Great
No drawing at all? Great
Podcast format? Great
No design cinema because you are busy? Also great.
I would hate for you to feel like you HAVE to do an episode, because surely it will reflect on your enthusiasm that we love so much!
I think the majority will agree. Don't pay attention to some unthankfull people that raise the alarms whenever you are delaying with an episode. :)
this is the greatest! we missed you so much!!!!!!!!!
SOO HAPPY YOU"RE BACK!!!! I was sad about no episodes for so long :(.... Very happy to hear you've been busy getting things done for yourself though. Hope you aren't working too hard :D. Thank you for the upload good sir, I eagerly await the next!
Pleeease do the podcast! Interacting with the rest of this community is something I've always wanted to do. This would be so inspiring :)
so refreshing to get some solid fundamentals of drawing, perspective and picture making . wish we had more of the advanced foundational stuff. thanks
Thanks for the videos. Always look forward to the awesome content you produce.
omg, Feng thank you!! i work as a professional and I had so much trouble lately placing the camera. It helped me a lot !! :)
certain subjects might be difficult in podcast format as having a visual reference really helps in understand what you mean and remember it.
what you do in this episode is amazing. you prepare so much beforehand so even though the video is long every second is valuable.
I''d still listen to them, however I'd prefer one of these great videos once a month to a good podcast every week.
at the end of the day this is all free so I can't complain, keep doing ur thing Feng and good luck with your new production company!
Awesome Feng Zhu! I couldn't wait any longer!
I would like frequent podcast and maybe one or two Design Cinema every few months where the topics in the podcast are applied.
Excellent video! I would like to see both the podcasts and the demos rather than choosing just one. I think variety is better.
Thank you for design cinema. Much health in 2016.
i would love podcast, that is awesome idea. Thanks for this episode, been thinking about camera position since one of your early episodes when you mention it.
Finally a new one! Thank you, Feng!
Love the idea of podcasts!
I'm up for podcast. yeah! can't wait to watch it! Awesome episode!
One of the most important lessons!
Great episode! Get well soon Feng.
I know its old clip, but I discover your channel short time ago, and Im really enjoy it :), thank you!
Podcast idea is great, and for sure there is a lot of topics that can be mentioned without using any visual help, but still they are a lot of topics like camera placement, where you can't tell everything just with words. So I think it would be the best option to just mix everything and do some time in a while a traditional ep of Design Cinema :) And something like pure podcast or like google hangout with doodling on a screen to add value to what you say would be a great compromise of knowledge and time to produce.
Thanks for the episode! it was really helpful! :)
YES!! FINALLY..I thought you'll never make the video again. Thank you, Feng. :)
Yeah definitely one of the most important vids for sure, more of stuff like this!
podcast would be a pretty good idea, but thank you so much for spending your time to show us your knowledge
Very good Idea Feng! We'll take whatever we get :D Thank you for Design Cinema !
Thx for the new episode!
I like the idea of podcasts because, you put so much (drawing) knowledge in all design cinema videos (I watched all of them several times), that "just only" talking about things on short time bases is even as good as recording a drawing video, if not even better because you could share some other knowledge too :-) (like this video here about camera placement).
thanks Mr. Feng for this amazing stuff
Great Episode , the podcast idea is nice one, really looking forward it!
This and the cov episode are so helpful
Wooo Hooo!!!!! New episode, I am so stoaked!!!!
Thank for sharing! Also, Podcast is a very sweet idea! Nice Work!
Spider Chicken King 👌 nice.
I needed this lesson so badly thanks man, all my projects seem to be 50mm lens and now I can explore with a bit more knowledge.
However if you ever do a follow up video then it'd be nice to know more about grids as you covers slightly in this video
Really liked the pod-casting idea! That would be really cool and if the information would be given just like this episode was, I believe there would be no complaints - lol I even wrote some notes on the subject of this video. Thanks for all the effort put into Design Cinema and good luck with your project :).
You could do a podcast livestream and upload it to youtube after. A livestream with either you painting clientwork or just a cam and answering questions and talking about certain subjects. Just a podcast would be awesome too!
I like the idea of format change for Design Cinema. Sort of like LevelUP design talk.
I was waiting for you to approach this topic for so long! Thanks for sharing
About podcasts: personally I think that depends on the subject of the podcast. If it is about some generic talk, something more about theory subjects where the screen/Photoshop is not important then it woud be good. If it is something more tachnical, where you demonstrate a technique or a workflow then I would like to see the screen capture too, even if it is prerecorded with voiceover. These are just personal preferences. Whatever you decide, keep up the good work!
Thank you so much...this was a lot of help for the camera science.
When generating ideas during the making of a painting, at some point you need to extract elements from the painting and draw them out to be modeled.
It would be really cool to see a Design Cinema episode about that, in which you take an old painting, maybe done for another episode and then show the process of extracting a precise design from it. Just to drop an idea!
Great topic, really going to enjoy this one. Happy New Year and thanks for another great year of Design Cinema.
Thank you for this video! I would love to know more about the use of camera angle and storytelling in design! :)
Feng where you been, bruh I been needing this. Lol great episode as always
sounds great, sharing of knowledge is much more useful.
Thank you for this! I would love to see an episode on storytelling via camera placement and more of a director's approach to the subject. Maybe go over some screencaps from movies and discuss why did the director choose this lens, angle, composition, etc.
Thanks for these, podcast is awesome too.
Thank you for this video, this is great! Would love to see a podcast, no doubt it will be great :) Hope you get well soon, and happy holidays!
I really appreciate these videos/ tutorials, I really look forward to learning helpful advice. Thank you for taking your time to share what you know.
oh my god stop apologizing about drinking coffee/tea and coughing, 90% of us here are huge fans of your work and we are extremely happy to hear you :) we don't mind if you cough, we are happy that you took time to record this even while you're sick :P
Hey Feng, happy new year - I wish you all the best for your new projects! Thanks very much for another great episode. I have actually been wondering a lot about camera placement and how to choose different views and perspective grids, so please do more of these!
With regard to a new style - although having a demo is awesome, I agree with what you said about just talking being useful, so I would be really keen on podcast-style episodes with the occasional demo.
whoooh, a new fzd!
Welcome back! Podcast idea is pretty good... I know Bobby Chiu does a livestream regularly, where he talks about the process, industry, mentality and importance of structure and focus etc etc... He discussed all of this whilst drawing a character on screen. So I think the podcast is definitely achievable.
Oranges, Lemons high vitamin C should clear that cough! :)
Thanks for uploading feng :) Hope the podcast videos will have you doing some art too.
Feng podcast would be really Killer.
thank you for being back ^___^
Woo! New design cinema!
Podcast idea seams awesome
Podcast will be awesome!
Podcast is a great idea1
Also, it allows us to draw while listening to it :D
legendary content, thanks for doing this!
I support the new ideas!!!!
podcast would be very interesting indeed!
What are your thoughts on someone switching creative careers? For example, industrial product design to concept art design? How do two individuals from these two fields think and observe differently and how to switch more smoothly?
Podcast is excellent idea
Great episode! Thanks for taking the time to make it! I look forward to the new format if it makes things easier for you to produce. Also, I'd really like to see more videos about camera, mood and things that take this subject a bit further. :)
Podcast ! oh yes, really good idea.
YES!!!! Thank you, Feng!!!
yeah man podcast sounds great
Podcast is awesome idea! Both thumbs up :)
Yeah, podcast seems nice!
omg, thank you so much for this priceless information. feng! I bow before you, I hope someday in real life. :)
