I have a Cadillac XLR roadster that has adaptive cruise control, I love it and would love to see it on a Corvette.
I had adaptive cruise on a 1995 Lexus LS430. All modern cars with adaptive cruise control have the conventional cruise as well..
My 21,000 Toyota Corolla has adaptive cruise control. I wish the Vette would have it when I finally get one. I love that feature, and I will drive my Vette a lot.
Brakes on my C8 have squealed since new. Took it to Chevrolet and they didn't know what I was talking about. I am going to look up that service bulletin and try again. Love my C8 (red mist tintcoat) best Vette ever.

So glad my C8 does not have the adaptive cruise control! This is a sports car. A drivers car. You are in control and the less intrusion the better. I think this car has the perfect balance of the drivers aids it should have. Thank you Tadge and team.
Whatever. It has AC,power seats,stereo,power steering, list goes on. Draw your arbitrary line and feel good about it but it's arbitrary. Corvette is a grand touring car not a pure sports car.
No adaptive cruise is why I'm not bending over to get one. Just like regular cruise you can still just not turn it on when you want to be the one "fully" in control, whatever that means in a modern car with fly by wire throttle, full computer controlled tuning,electronic controlled differential,and on and on.

This last Saturday, I was going to look at a 02' c5 coupe, with 61k miles....
what happened,...that Corvette wasn't there...but a 2002 Hypersonic metallic grey C8 LT1 with red seats and optional wheels, just arrived...with use car values on the rise, I negotiated a deal, trading in my 14' c7 3Lt convertible, an 04' c5 z06, & a 99' c5 convertible... I'm really glad I did....no more Snap Spinouts....was my first concern... she's a beaut...I will be driving this one so much more....Happy 66' Birthday present

Great vlog Rick. It has been, and continues to be a great way to learn about the C8! Watching your vlogs from the time I wanted to see what the new C8 was going to be, to ordering one and hearing about the delays and what to expect next. To after market parts, and now learning about the breaks and DCT filter changes keeps me in the know especially since I'm about 4 months behind you on maintenance. I need to get my car into Chuck to have the tire pressure sensors checked. They won't re-set after I blew my front passenger side tire in September. Keep the Tech Tuesdays coming!
I wish texh Tuesday was a separate channel. I'm still waiting for my c8 to be built. After it delivered I'd like just seeing Tech Tuesday.

Tech Tuesdays are great. Thank you for your time on this. So the squeaky brakes are caused by the amount of copper grease that they put when your c8 was built ?

It’s nice to see that Coughlin finally sprung for some new lifts for Chuck and Nate, those old Car Max lifts were hideous, they should’ve gotten the high speed battery operated Rotary’s though, up in 22 seconds!!

I had my Dealer perform the above service and the squeaking stoped. Unfortunately it returned within a few hundred miles.

Thank you for clarifying that but I would like to know why there is no auto dimming headlights? The headlight them in stalk since a little further away than Other vehicles. It seems like it would just be a convenient feature

Tadge’s answer doesn’t make sense. Cadillac I believe has both. No one uses cruise control in heavy traffic.
Awesome video today Rick!!! Love the tech tip on using a little copper grease to quiet the squeaking from the brake pads “chattering”. I wonder if that’s true with some brakes on other manufacturers vehicles as well. Saw the damage on the rim and all I can say is “ouch”!!! I hope jumping your car isn’t going to have any adverse effects down the road on you and your C8 (manly for you! Cars and parts are a lot easier to replace!). Really enjoyed the rides section in today’s video! Still dreaming but one day I’ll be driving!!!

There's a stealership in Statesboro ga. Franklin Chevrolet. They have 3 of them on the showroom floor and each one is $25k-$30k over MSRP. That's sad bc someone will pay that.
Hello. I have a 22 c8 with z51 package and it is making the noise from the rear brakes. Does this apply too for rear brakes? Thanks!
So it’s covered if it’s under warranty? Mine is a 2020 with 23,000 miles, do you think it will still be covered?
What law? There are a number of vehicles with both and have been for years. Please please please add it, it would help my life significantly (I have a disability that makes it painful to be constantly on & off the brakes such as during rush hour traffic, but frankly all on-road driving. Also, could you consider auto brake hold (when you get to a red light and come to a stop, I can take my foot off the brake)? Thank you.
I would like to be a fly on the wall, when you explain too your wife about your repair of your new corvette. Lol
she already knows and was not happy at the expense, quite crazy but I was all in on this one

Rick , please don’t jump the car anymore , just drive it and enjoy it ! It Costs too much to repair these beasts ( and way to beautiful ) . We love ya brother , don’t want anything happening to you .
Viewership levels must be falling off. Robert Craig Knievel had the same problem when people got bored.
I had the same problem but just on the rear brake and did the exact same repair with the same product, but after about only 600 miles the brakes were still squealing. I did the same thing for the second time and the brakes were still squealing after about 600 miles again. But the third time, I reversed the brake pads, for example I took the inside pad and I put it outside and the outside one I put it inside so that the grain of the pad is the other way and since then I have done 5000 miles and there is no more squeaking! 🤯🦻😁
These fixes always makes me nervous! But for a pro like Chuck it is nothing.

Call me skeptical about the bent wheels, with an impact like that the front end of that car would be all tore up.

Even a Toyota Corolla comes standard with adaptive cruise! The explanation on why the C8 doesn't have adaptive cruise sounds like marketing BS to me. The truth is that Chevy was trying to bring the C8 in at a very low price, so they cut a few corners. So no adaptive cruise control, ugly standard wheels, sub-standard engineering to keep the rain out of the engine compartment and front strut towers, etc. These deficiencies stand out on an otherwise stellar car. Heck, I bought a C8 as well!

Another great video thanks. I have a squeak noise inside my HTC usually on uneven roads. Could it be the pins from the roof? Need to lubricant them ?
NOT PINS..I had same squeak,open top and the moldings on windshield and top need to be cleaned and lubed....did mine and fine every since

Like the vid thanks can you leave car in track setting all time or will that wear out tires quicker.
What do you think track mode actually does? Tire wear depends on tire inflation, wheel alignment, road surface, how you accelerate, how you steer and how you brake. None of which are directly affected by the little control knob near your right hand. However, the little knob is somehow connected to some driver’s brains, causing them to accelerate faster, steer more aggressively and brake more severely while driving in the “track mode”. It is up to you. The manual explains track mode by the way.
It must be comforting for mechanic to deal with wheels and brakes instead of that mid engine hard to access motor and transmission.

I drove a car with adaptive cruise! last week. It SUCKS no way would I want that on any of my cars.
I literally hate adaptive cruise control.
It is hard to believe a car that was just introduced couple years ago and so expensive don’t have adaptive cruise. Cheap.

Rick approximately how many miles when your squeaky brakes started? A big no for me on adaptive cruise control. Next thing you know will be autonomous driving. Buy a Tesla if thats what you want.

Show us "what we have to do" to fix it? Ridiculous that a 60k car can't leave the factory in the year 2021 with something as silly and primitive as this being an issue. Come on GM.
