Thanks for the info.
And yes, hope Chuck stops smoking!
dud there is more to life than worry about someone quiting smoking , a MR . KAREN we have , Hmmm WHAT do to u say to the DRUNK/ BUZZED driver's OR people on there cell phone while driving ? NO MORE KAREN"s in this WORLD ,
Can not believe other dealerships are charging their customers for the DCT on their very first oil change, and this is way your channel is well supported for giving out great advice.
THIS is why Chuck is THE MASTER TECHNOLOGIST of Tech Tuesday! Technicians are button pushers!
Pulled the last video? I watched about 1 minute of it. Don’t let other people bother you. Your doing a great job. Keep it up.
Yes Rick keep up the good work...
Thank you again
Pulled last video because he realized just how childish & ignorant he sounded. The vids have gone down the toilet. I am DONE with this guy. He doesn't belong on this venue...(

Thanks for the informational upload video Rick very helpful to us, you are doing a wonderful job keeping it real the best you possibly can and some things just out of your control, we appreciates your hard work and dedications to keep us laughing all the time it’s not easy, thanks Rick.
Thanks for all you do Rick. You're the BEST! We're especially grateful for the GM updates and service info.
Rick, thanks for this important update on the 1st service visit. I found it very helpful and it will be useful when I take my C8 for the service visit. Keep these updates coming along!!
Continue to love your videos....yesterday was great concerning your frustration and as you explain things you sit in your own new rapid blue beast. 💙 appreciate the first service info....will do yearly as I will take years to reach 7500 miles.
Awesome video Rick!!! Don’t let those haters live in your head tent free sir! You do such an incredible job in the Corvette community! Loved the epic prank video Sunday!!! Your videos bring a smile to many who watch! Keep being awesome!
Here My Buddy RICK , was out doing YARD work 2 day ! , but now RELAXING the #1 CORVETTE , Person in The World ! TY RICK >................................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Again Luv the Info & Content As Always ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Mechanics are amazing, I admire anyone that are able to work on these cars.
Mr. Conti,,,very interesting vlog🤔 Rick I didn't know that's what needs done at service intervals!! Rick,,Stop Dreaming and Start Driving 👍
Rick thanks again for doing what you do to continue to bring this all new C8 Corvette into the spotlight as it truly deserves. I attended my first ever car show yesterday with my local club Adirondack Corvette Club in upstate NY. Unfortunately my 2007 Coupe did not place for a trophy but the black Zora shirt I was wearing from attending your send off pat party was recognized by two people that came up to me and asked me where I got it and sparked great conversation about this channel. Keep doing what you love to keep those of us that love this car informed.
Great video as always! Hope to see my beautiful ride pic on here soon!
Awesome stuff Rick. Will always back you no matter what you do !!!!!
Great info, will save for future reference. Thanks Rick, you are the best.
Awesome as usual !!!
Hi Rick, always enjoy the beautiful rides.🚘👋👍👌
Thank you Rick for providing us with that know how
Thanks for shout out with MY Beautiful Rides. Good luck on finding the Pace Car
Great to see you back to normal today. You were stressed out yesterday. Don’t let those Neg comments get to you. Ignore those folks. Great advise on the trans oil change. Hope you are right about BG going back to work. Still at 3000 since feb 12th.
Good information on the oil change and transmission filter replacement Rick on your 3300 mile driving. Don't let the other people with negative points of view bother you Rick all us corvette owners stand with you. Great ride segment have a great day Rick. Tom from SC.
Great information. I still have not decided on a local dealer to do my service. You armed me with great intel to make sure the dealer I work with knows what they are doing. Thanks again.
Great info Rick...good to see Chuck and Nate! 👌👌👌
Great information Rick. Thanks
Rick, I loved the last video, I must admit that you had me going. Please don’t let the haters get next to you, for each negative comment you get you most likely receive 100 positive comments. Reflect on the positive ones not the negative ones, when those numbers are reversed then you need to be concerned, until then, continue doing an OUTSTANDING JOB.
Hey Rick just received my official allocation for a 2021 C8... now its a hurry up and wait ✋ lol ☺
Rick, I was surprised to see you getting out of the "mule" Corvette. Good one. Now, I hope you've learned your lesson: NEVER DO ANYTHING THAT MIGHT EVEN REMOTELY DAMAGE YOUR PRECIOUS CORVETTE.
Wow. That was some great rides!
Great as always, Don't listen to the "haters", I think you are doing GREAT work and certainly did in my case in getting me a car.Good info about the service and the fact some Dealers will try to charge you for it. Sorry you hurt your car making the camo video but you can get it like new again. Use it as a learning experience. Love you man.
I want to stop thinking about corvettes. Get it out of my head until the day I get mine. I’m stuck at 3000 for months now with all these shut downs I just wanted to forget for awhile. Im realizing how difficult that really is to do. Lol.
Good to see Chuck back on your Vlogs.....just remember it's Chuck "Tech Master" Metts! LoL.........love your Vlogs buddy! Stay positive always!
I feel like every video I miss on the first day gets taken down lol. Great video Rick and tons of great info here.
Nice Video thanks for sharing I go tomorrow morning for my first service now I know what to ask and say thanks to you
Thanks for sharing. I have just over 1,000 miles on my 21 Z51 Convertible ( I took delivery in December of 2020). I hadn’t decided when I was going in for an oil change but I knew that I wasn’t going to wait until 7,500 miles.
Great info. Wish I had a Chuck and Nate in my local garage!
Awesome video! 👍👍👍🚀🚀🚀
Very informative....THANKS
Another great 🎥💓👍☕☕
Thanks Rick for uploading My ZO6 AKA Bull Masta...And don't let the Neg comments get under your skin. Have a great week.
Great information Rick I saved this video so I could show it to my Chevy service writer in case he tries to charge me for it
its all mental - some are instant gratifiers, myself and others are delayed gratifiers; i have been
waiting for my ordered C8 HTC for 15 months Without Yet Taking Delivery - Old Fred - CT (76)
Rick never let other peoples negativity bother you you do an awesome job!!
Hey Rick! I see you installed the front radiator grill screens! Don't worry, your secret is safe with me!
Man enjoy life Rick and corvette
Great video, I would have done the track/performance fill.
Had my car serviced a week ago and the filter was on back order, along with the front lift replacement cap. I got the call on Thursday both are in now and I have to go back to have the DCT filter service. I'm thinking about having the additional quart of DCT added even though I don't plan to track, I did get kinda of spirited around the IMS Grand Prix course a few weeks ago. Car looks great Rick and glad you finally got yours! When every in the Indy area let us know.
Two videos in one day, the legend over here.
Thanks , this one was scheduled!
Really enjoyed this how to service vlog! Wonder how many dealers put in old screws. I’m driving to your dealership for my first oil change dct filter. I m sorry about the mess up with your vehicle! Those sort of issues really pxss me off. Ryan had to say “oh Dad, mission control we have a problem”. Hang in there!
In November, 2020 I bought my 1st ever Corvette, a 2014 Z51 3LT A6: Crystal Red Tint Coat with Kalahari leather interior. It's an absolutely awesome machine and so much fun to drive!! But, since the wife has been showing me pictures of and commenting on the colors of the 2022, I'm Giving serious thought about selling or trading it in. I'm already getting sellers remorse!
I’m definitely coming in for my service! Yes, 1000 mile round trip but at least pros will do the job correct!
Great information Rick.. hopefully my local dealer will do the same 🤔😳👍.. I wasn’t impressed with my first oil change 😔
I just bought one
2023. Good to know
Me too, bought mine on 12/24. 2023 C8 LT1 with Z51 package. How do you like your C8 so far? I love mine.
Great info on the first service Rick. I really wonder how many people paid for that DCT service that was free.
🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍
Really good information Rick! Given the complicity of the process, I wonder how many technicians at the local dealership actually follow/know about it...
Rick great channel if you own or getting a c8. I know you have the beautiful ride segment but the rest of the "other"generations are missing the love. People get tired of eating a peanut butter sandwich every time we tune in. Mix it up. Thanks. C6 G.S. 13. Owner.
RICK
BIG THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND REPORTS
can the dct filter even be changed without the car being on a lift looks like it would be tough without the car lifted
I drove my c8 from south west Florida to the Ron Fellows Performance Driving school and had to have my first service on the road.I took it to Henderson Chevrolet to have it done. The next day I received a phone call stating they had overlooked the trany filter and could I come back.To make a long story short when I got home my local dealer did the work and Henderson Paid the bill to my local dealer[$204.73 filter MSRP].There is a dealer with integrity.
Approximately how much would this service cost If not covered.
I see everyday is Christmas at Chuck's work place.
I was driving on the highway with my wife, and she said, “Hey, you missed a right!”
I said, “Thanks babe. You MRS. Right.”
Hi Rick just to let you know about a product to get the adhesive off your car Try product Rapid Remover I had removed some clear bra off my vette and had some residue and the stuff worked great I bought it of amazon have a good day
My new c8 with only 150 miles scratches easily i have to use compound what gives
How about a video on that neat DCT filler tool your guys used there?
Can you add the 2 quarts of transmission fluid required for track use through that same fill port on the side? WOW, that would be so much easier.
Yes you can. I did it this weekend. You have to buy the Dodson DCT oil fill line. Once installed (very easy) it took me 5 minutes to add 2qts with my power filler.
I liked this video, I'm at 3000 status, and I hope to get my C8 by August. I always click on your video to get info. I was wondering about the first service, thought I had to do it at 500, but now I know.....thanks
I’m at 3,000 also hopefully we get it in August it depends on the stoppage at the GM plant.
@@timharris3832 How long ago was your initial order? I placed my order with my dealer on March 10, 2021, so I haven't had to wait too long so far....lol
@@jamesw9892 no way that’s crazy mine was November I ordered from MacMulkin but I live in California.
Did the ceramic coating help protect it better vs if you didn't have it.
I just saw this corvette 😳😳
Do they make a Magnetic Drain Plug for the C8? If so, is it wise to use one?
Need to look at oil level about every fill up or so to make sure it is ok for 1st 1500 miles or so. Just make sure car is not eating oil.
In this video, he used different access to top up the tranny fluid.
In a newer video shows him taking the bumper out the air filter, so
I'm confused
I think you should have mentioned that one should pay for the first service - just the engine oil and filter, GM will also include a free DCT filter change and top-up with an engine oil/filter change at 7500 miles. Most people will wait until the 7500 miles as the DCT change is about $650-$850 at the dealer. Why would you not consider their pocketbook when suggesting service?
If it is free means it is very important
Whats your answer Rick to my scratch and rub problem ? Just because I didn't go for optional paint im scr3wed
Rick. What grille covers do you have and how do you feel about the whole grille cover controversy?
When topping off the transmission fluid the only fluid that came out was what in the filter container right so why did he put more fluid in why didn't he just add fluid to the DCT filter can
I was forced to get my first service due to the 2 year rule. The service manager gave me 2 quarts of transmission fluid. This is a small dealership but trustworthy for sure. I think he did as a favor. How in the heck would I top it off?
Launch control = 0-60.. 2.65secs...can be better!!
It looks like they didn’t run the GM required flush program BEFORE changing the DCT filter! Major screw up no?
More service videos to come I hope. That was nice. Just did mine this weekend but added the extra 2 also.
So when u fill the extra 2. U have to fill in the back under the air filter housing is that correct ??? Y did the mechanics filled ricks transmission underneath where the filter goes ???
@@craigjesso3976 They filled his in the service side port as you should. They were just replacing the amount of oil they lost from the just the filter change. You just fill it completely or top it off until the oil comes out of the port and put the plug back in and clean it up.
I have the Dodson oil fill port so I can just drain the oil and simply hook up my adapter and pump in the desired amount which for track is 13.6 which is 2 qts over over. I don’t have to install the extra 2 from the top side under the air filter which is a pain.
@@NoMatter78 yes it is a pain as I watched a few videos. I didn’t see any videos the way u said maybe u should post next time. Thanks for information
Hi!
ok i have a selfish question do have an educated response to how many c8 are left to be built
I will share something that I will never do. I sprayed a clear bra shield on the front of my car for a track day. It was a disaster to get it off. I probably will get it Xpel wrapped.
You didn’t mention if you did or didn’t add the additional two quarts of transmission fluid. I know you have no plans of tracking your car but was wondering if it would be a good preventative measure (I would assume that the extra fluid would allow the transmission to run cooler) considering the problems some people are having.
I'd like to know this as well.
What's DCT?
What did the kidney say to the other kidney when it failed?
Urine trouble now.
Can a typical C8 owner change his own spark plugs?
Where is my C8 Z06? LOL
Rick do you have a super secret GM service department head/person, (a name, a phone #, an email, etc.), that I can have a dealer contact to confirm they are supposed to do the DCT service the 1st time along with the 1st time oil change? I'm at 5K miles plus, (29% on the oil change meter), and have checked with 2 of the nearby Chevy dealers in my area and in both cases the service department managers have said NO FREE 1st time DCT service...only the 1st oil change is free. I've even showed them some of the official documentation floating around the forums stating that they, (the dealership), gets a $200 or so credit for doing the DCT service...they said don't believe everything you read on the C8 forums. HELP.
Last video wasn’t needed. It spoke for itself. There will be jerks that troll you.
You are a salesman! Get the thicker skin! You are better than that!
Rick, do you know about the problem with water collecting in the front strut towers, and the need to add covers to the towers to keep the water out... was this issue only with the 2020 models, and was it fixed in the 2021s? If you're not aware, please forward this question to Chuck. Thanks. Love your channel.
Did you take down the video from yesterday?
yep, I am sure the goons saw it, appreciate the TRUE supporters here and moving forward, not backwards, thank-you
@@RickCorvetteConti I'm glad I got to see the video you were genuine and shouldn't be ashamed of anything you do
Did a snowflake call you to take the other video down?
Rides looked amazing...how about a change in the music. Freshen things up a bit.
The dapper parallelogram computationally squeeze because sweatshop psychophysically calculate regarding a present digger. brainy, cute banker
Disappointing this video didn’t get into the needed detail of removing and installing the trans filter. It has lack critical information on where the fill plug is and how you fill it, like what filler “thingy” was the mechanic using to inject the fluid.
Very disappointing.
I really like your channel but I have since found out that my corvette life your on his channel list (THAT IS BAD) he has the worst corvette channel ever and can't support anyone who supports him
whatever dude....he is a nice kid......have a great life!
How about editing your post so it makes sense. ‘that my corvette life your on his channel list’ ???
