      I was at 7ng/ml vit d level a few years ago and it was the worst. No energy, mental fog and more. My doctor told me to take 1000 IU for a month to see what happens - that didn't work of course. I took matters into my own hands and started taking 30,000-80,000 I.U. per day after reading "healthy in seven days" a book translated into English from a German doctor. Over the course of 2 weeks I took over MILLION I.U. and that brought my vitamin D level to 97ng/ml. Had some issues, as I didn't take k2/magnesium in the regimen and had to balance that out afterwards but I was feeling soooo good! Since then I always make sure my vitamin D is at least 40ng/ml and I haven't got sick again yet. That was back in 2015.

    I've been taking 50000 IU's weekly for the past 3 years (11/2018) and my recent blood work (9/8/21) showed 46 ng/mL (standard range of 30-100 ng/mL). My vitamin D levels have been hovering around 41-55 ng/mL every 3-6 month when I get my blood work. I'm a stage 3 cancer survivor (thyroid / throat) and my doctor put me on vitamin D3 supplementation. I've been in remission for the past 2.5 years. I'm in my mid 50's.

      I take 15,000iu of D3, per day, with K2. I too found out about the importance of vitamin D, right after cancer. That was 7 years ago. I use the "Sports Research" brand, because it's made with coconut oil, instead of alfalfa. My numbers are typically in the 80'sng/ml. I'm 58 now. A surprise benefit has been that I no longer get sick. I haven't had a cold/flu in 7yrs, and I used to consistently get the normal 2-4 per year. When people at work are getting sick, I start taking 50mg of zinc every day. I do the same thing (taking zinc daily) if I start to feel like I might be catching something, and I'll bolster that with 6 fresh cloves of garlic, minced, and blended into 3 scrambled eggs 1-2 times/day. Once the eggs are cooked, it takes away that spicy hot effect of the garlic, and it's almost completely not noticeable.

    I normally tell people how important vitamin D is. I fell sick for months with bouts of depression and anxiety, muscle pains, lack of concentration, a whole lot of health issues. Doctors kept telling me it was school stress and bla bla and even tried to prescribe me anxiety and depression meds. After doing my own research, I found out it could be vitamin D and iron deficiency and asked for a test, again I was discouraged from taking the test but stood my grounds. I indeed was very deficient in Vitamin D with low levels of Ferriton. Just a week of taking a high dose of vitamin D and some iron pills my symptoms disappeared. Have been supplementing on D3 since then.

    I'm amazed at how much 'long covid' symptoms seem like those of severe vitamin-D deficiency. And, how doctors everywhere seem equally bewildered about what to do about them. I gave myself 8,000 iu of D3 for 8 weeks and brought my 25 (OH) d3 levels from some unknown place in the basement up to 45 ng/mL / 113 nmol/L (you must fight with your GP to get a test). Then on Dr. J Campbell's talks I learned of K2 and gave myself 200 mcg/day. Here's what happened: a. sleep went to normal; b. all day napping and fatigue disappeared; c. skin like red alligator went like baby; d. a never-ending post nasal drip and cough I had for YEARS disappeared; e. muscle, joint, ligament aches in legs went away, almost; f. I got to turn down a hip replacement offer and instead am walking 4 km a day (a different wrong doctor); g. funky peripheral neuropathy, in places too many to list diminishing nicely; h. bone pain for years in shins is gone; i. frequent urination is much improved; j. sensitivity in teeth is gone whilst brushing. That's not even all. And, if you've read this long post the time you've spend is far more than any doctor has even been willing to listen to. I suppose you can't blame them. There is no way you can convince me that they aren't getting bad guidelines from medical associations and health authorities at the highest levels all over the world.

    • @4EverTrying
      @4EverTrying 3 роки тому +4

      @@MultiChrisjb I agree that pharma is dangerous (I never took meds except when I was under the direction of my parents when I got sick), but advising people to mega dose on D3 is not safe either! If people aren't absorbing D3 sufficiently, that is a sign that they need to fix the problem of why they are not absorbing it, NOT TAKE MORE! If your body is not absorbing it, it's not absorbing it for a GOOD reason. The little backstory presented in this video that viruses are blocking D3 receptors is cute, but that is just one side of it. The body's cells have been cohabiting with bacteria (bacteria do the dirty work of viruses . . . viruses reprogram bacteria to do their bidding) and fungi since the beginning of time. Trying to "fight" viruses and bacteria is the WRONG way to view things. If the body isn't absorbing D3, it's because the person is malnourished in other nutrients. If their gut is damaged, they are malnourished in protein and/or salt, sugar, etc.
      It's too complicated to put the same label on every case, but long story short, pharma is bad, but we need to be careful what we replace pharma with. Supplements are UNNATURAL just as much as pharma is. Am I supplement fan? More than you can guess from this response. But with the same token, I know how dangerous supplements can be (especially when you are recommended to take such a large dose of D3 FOR LIFE. Saying that someone cannot overdose on FAT SOLUBLE vitamins is nonsense, as FAT SOLUBLE vitamins are stored in the body for later use.)

    My GP told me to stop taking D3 supplement for a month when I got the blood results, in a pandemic! Neadless to say I ignored the advice. Doctors need to bring themselves up to date on this issue, they are badly misinformed by the authorities, run by old men who have been bureacrats for too long and refuse to learn anything since they already know everything!

      If you were actively taking vitamin D while checking its level, you got fake results. You need to take a break for at least 10 days before testing to get anything credible. And putting off vitamin D supplementation for even month won't really do anything bad to you - as it takes long time to increase its levels, it takes long time to decrease as well. Also, while being very important for immune system, it's not like having heathy level of it makes you bulletproof to microbes, unfortunately it isn't any miracle cure, just one element from collection of important ingredients to healthy life (and even if your body is in perfect condition, poo happens).

It's the best to get Vitamin D (Hormone D to be accurate, as it's not really a vitamin, but hormon, a stecosteroid to be more specific - read more on wiki, it's stated there as well) from direct sunlight and/or from foods that are rich in it.

I have always been low on vitamin D3 and that came with a tonne of health issues, including catching covid-19 twice; weak bones and muscles; every season I caught the cold; chronic inflammation in my respiratory system; post nasal drip; stuffed nostrils etcetera. All these ailments have improved and this is just my first purchase (bottle). My biggest surprise was with the post nasal drip and nose congestion; all that is gone! Bone and muscle aches are gone! Soon, am going to find out what my vitamin D 3 levels are, and am thinking the numbers are going to be good because I feel great throughout my entire body.

      Add a zinc supplement to D3 and K2 as MK7 for a super effective prophylactic against covid-19 and it's numerous variants. 5000iu - 10,000iu of D3 and 100mcg of K2 as MK7 and a 100mg zinc capsule a day is all one needs to be pretty much immune to the effects of the virus.

    I’ve been on an average of 10k IUs for years, more in winter and less in summer. No problems whatsoever; no colds, no flus, no kidney problems, and great bone density. The only issue I’ve ever had regarding this vitamin is how freaked out my GP gets whenever he asks what I’m taking and how much. Every time he voices concern I offer to have my vitamin/mineral levels checked, just to be sure all is well. Funny thing is he NEVER orders these labs… and I just go on taking my normal dose every day. Thank you, Dr. Berg, for sharing your wisdom about regaining and maintaining quality of health.

      Same here. I tell my doctor the dosage (10K IU /day) and he immediately says it’s high. Even said could lead to all kinds of complications. But when pressed, wouldn’t tell me what that could be. Ordered the lab work once just to confirm he was right. The levels were normal and he never brought it up again. 😆

I had been pre-diabetic but reversed that with KETO & IF, dropped my blood pressure to normal and lost 55 pounds in the past 7 months. I still have 25 pounds to go as my BMI is still 29 so I didn’t think I would increase my level as fast as I did. I started taking 1 10000 IU per day in December for COVID/FLU prevention and my level has gone from 80/ml up to 133/ml. I was shocked! Calcium was also up by 4 points on my CMP.
