Hey, you made it this far! Thank you for watching, make sure to come back & say hi before you leave... its not safe to go alone... - Ігри
This is also mirrored when Tyrael tried to gaze into Chalad'ar and found it overwhelmingly depressing as he saw within it, the sum of all things... which inevitably lead to death.
I never interpreted him as going “insane” just that his Wisdom brought him to the inevitability of death for all beings so he concluded “Death” was the only escape from the eternal conflict…..but that’s just me
No he lost his mind, imperius wouldn’t have let you kill him w/o contesting you If the thought his brother was still in there
@@cooperblackwell1392 Imperius is basically a roided up redneck on angel dust, what he thinks is completely irrelevant
It's not just you. I always thought he was still wise.
@@armandaneshjoo Because he really was. Who says he's not? A fallen angel who tore his own wings? A crazy warmonger Imperius? Really?
@@Kalendir Articulate.
Kinda sucks how most of the powerful angels in Diablo Lore are not capable of leading their side to victory
The story isnt over yet my friend (says someone who hasnt read the books anyway)
Literally... Tyrael becomes mortal. Imperious loses to diablo and mathael turns dark AND THE REST ARE UNACCOUNTED FOR. The fuck ??? They're so bad ass and even the animated cinematic made them look so dope. Shame they can't be a fucking team. Underrated comment
...and he gave his heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly...for in much wisdom is much grief, and whoever increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow...
That kind of true, from my own experiences.
I always interpreted Malthael's "madness" as him finding an end to the Eternal Conflict by becoming the Archangel of Death, seeking to being a trye permadeath to Heaven and Hell's leadership/forces. We are never the problem, as mortals and Nephalem. It's the Burning Hells and High Heaven that are the problem. Clearly D4 showed us this, as did D3.
Hope we find out about Tyrael in some Diablo 4 DLC or something!
I dont
The angels will hardly sit at the side lines through the entire game. 100% the high heavens will do something and probably have a DLC. Perhaps as our opponents.
@Spazzosity good for you everyone else does
Id like to actually see Diablo in d4.....since its named after him.
@@dracula2749why? Hes in ever other one. Their finally putting in lore thats so much better then just adding just diablo. No one would play. Im sorry if diablo was the main boss of 4 id quit. The lore is so much better. Stop being a simp. I wanna see the prime evil itself with all of the lesser n primes fuse.
I liked more when Malthael was actually right.
Cause if Tyrael's sword of Justice cannot touch him... why it cannot touch him if he is just reflecting his own despair?
Yeah, because what he did was actually just from an archangel point of view. That is, eradicating evil (impersonated by demons and their offspring, humanity) when it was weak and could really be wiped out. If not for nephalem, he'd actually end the Eternal conflict - and Anu's dark side would be defeated for good. No Lilith, no Diablo IV, Inarius happily drinking beer with Imperius, Diablo's balls hanging fron the Diamond Gate, Burning Hells no longer burning and used as a storehouse. Happy end! Yay!
But "no, Malthael", "you're insane, Malthael", "let's not kill demons, Malthael, we should be more inclusive and tolerate them".
The sword didn’t touch him because he physically wasn’t there to begin with. Had the sword actually touched him, it would have been very different than what we saw.
@@H240909 Yeah, well, whatever. That's not the main point, anyway. The main point is he did nothing to be considered insane. Damn, Imperius did much more insane things. Or Tyrael. Or literally any other character.
@@Kalendir Yes he did
@@H240909 That's not how Tyreals sword works... He's the literal embodiment of Justice and his sword reflects that. The sword passed right through because Malthael is an arch angel doing what he believes to be good, and right. Malthael had no evil intent in his heart so the sword passes right through.. IF there were any humans with a purely good and just heart (doubtful since half demon) the sword would pass right through them as well.. The sword is basically justice itself and it judges with it's blade... if you're evil it will cut you down, if you're not it will simply pass right through. If malthael wasn't there he wouldn't have been able to take the sword or kill the others with his weapons. The first two that got their heads lobbed off wouldn't have happened if he wasn't actually there.. he also wouldn't have been able to physically take the soulstone.
One could say he drank the grimace shake
The writing team for diablo is incredible
The book of Lorath and these bits of lore? Ofc
The story in act 6? Not so much
@@FloundBlacky we'll see. that's the problem when you end before the story is complete. it feels less than satisfying.
@@pieking4 That and for some reason almost all of the charackters make REALLY idiotic decisions and Mephisto plays them all
@@FloundBlacky’m not sure that the characters are acting like idiots, but rather they just resolved themselves to tackle each problem as it approaches. They (I think rightly) saw Lilith as a threat, and even though they knew a graver threat was looming on the horizon, they decided to deal with her first, or else lose everything that mattered before that graver threat arrived. I think that in trapping Mephisto, they have a hope to delay the inevitable, but I think all of the characters are very much aware that the fight isn’t over at the end of the final act of the campaign.
I prefer the Diablo 1 & 2 lore before the big shift/retconning of the Sin War books. 3 and 4 have some bad writing in the bigger sense, but I still like the smaller details of the world.
Mathy just needed to sit down and chat with Lorath, the true chalice of wisdom.
Shows how strong Dr. Stranges Mind was if he saw over 14million defeating futures in a minute and remained hopeful that they could pull off just the 1, maybe the time to think about the odds didn’t sink in since he was blipped out.
Anyways I love Diablos Lore and I do hope Inarius is transformed into Lucifer for DLC content, would be an incredible launching pad for more DLC or Diablo games to come.
the reason he went insane was...."You all have phones right??!" that's why he did it
El'druin knew it was the right thing to do.
Lorat’s voice is so over the top husky that i can no longer understand what he is saying.
Malthael never went insane. He just didn't act in a way that was beneficial for humanity.
Malthael saw D4 price of the game and microtransactions...
That wasn't funny.
@@HuffDaddyYT funny enough to make you comment to defend ur precious little billion dollar company instantly tho

@@brunohommerding3416 who asked
@@brunohommerding3416 Ask Dead Space 3 how well it worked for them.
Where do all these book of lorath readings come from?
Probably the audiobook version.
Millennia of warfare he saw despair… so in other words weakness… All the angels seem to be infected by it. Inarius went simp, imperious went angry with power, auriel got captured for a little while and every angel just about gave up instantly. Sure demon worship is probably bad, but why bend the knee to weakness? Just playing devils advocate with this.
Auriel being captured and nearly cosmued by despair affected all angels because she’s hope itself and unlike us humans who get hope from our emotions they get from Hope herself.
I've got to say this video is quite lazy.
You've got literally 10 seconds of content, followed by an audio clip for the remainder of the video.
No thoughts given, no input, no theory.
Slap a cut scene over it and ta-dah.
Wait a minute…..Lorath himself narrates the book?!
Right??
The reason Maltheal goes insane is simple it’s because of the creation of sanctuary.
He found my porn collection and decided that humanity as a whole needed to be wiped out.
..... sorry about that guys.
Hashtag Malthael Did Nothing Wrong
Why he went insane? He discovered tiktok and couldn't find the right ingredients to make his new favorite dish. Lol
Ah, I thought him finding out TikTok was already enough of a reason for going full loco and murderous.
@@Dudedontdodrugs :D
@@DudedontdodrugsBeat me to saying it
to me, Diablo Lore in general makes no sense, because it first states that there was one great being and this being divided himself in two one of pure evil and one of pure good and they fought till death and from the corpses heaven with angels and hell with demons were created. So both beings are incomplete and completely "enslaved" to their nature and thus they keep fighting giving origin to the eternal conflict.
But here is why they make no sense to me, they make these stories about Angels feeling envy and anger. how can they feel these emotions if those were casted out as part of evil? it makes no sense. but they only make this, they don't make stories about demons feeling compassion, etc.
Exactly cuz demons dont feel compassion and they destroy. Angels get infuriated. So angels become lesser "demons". Especially in due time. Thats why leader of angels the Valor Imperius is full of hatred. The brightest angel of them all also became the darkest angel of them all. Are they all enslaved to something? Yes they are. To physicality, it is natural.
I don't think he's a bad guy tbh
Easy answer: _Heaven's a lie_
We literally go there in Diablo 3.
He knew the nephalim would be the death of the angels, so he became death itself...
.
.
.
Just kidding. Angels don't die right?
I mean have you seen Inarius lately.
They can die, but soon will reincarnated into a new Angel with a blank paper. So kinda different like demon who basically will respawn after death with the memory they own before.
@@Ilyas-ty6cy Thank you for the clarification! I always wondered that!!
@@Ilyas-ty6cy Thats not fair .Why demons can keep the memories they own before.
@@garfyhe1727 Well, that something that should be asked to the creator. But something that clear is, the Archangels never get killed in the Eternal war. While Demons and Prime evil die a lot. Also Angel as individual in general is ranked higher than demon, The reason Demon can match Angel military might because they have huge quantity. Yeah Demon race is diverse and their form, size, and power is can be different for each member, but angel power level and their form are Consistent for each member.
Malthael did nothing wrong. he wasnt insane Tyrael went insane
This.
From angel's pov, he was just finishing the Eternal Conflict. From human's pov, he IS insane, but only because humanity thinks angels usually like them. Which they don't, hence the confusion of Lorath, calling Malthael "insane".
But Tyrael - now Tyrael should've understood. But he didn't because he lost it when the Worldstone went "kaboom". Everything he did afterwards was actually crazy.
Inarius did nothing wrong
@@cherrycola4476 Sure. Except EVERYTHING.
@@Kalendir only mistake he made was killing Rathma. Take it or leave it.
