Malthael, oldest know-it-all brother. Auriel, the calm middle sister that tries to solve everything diplomatically. Imperius, hot headed violent youngest brother. Itherael, Cold Headed intelligent older sibling. Tyrael, heroic younger brother. (I know they all have the same age, but that’s how they act.)
Lore explanations can be rather monotonous and hard to follow, you do a great job presenting it an engaging and humorous manner. Appreciate you Rhykker!
So, piece of advice - DO NOT EAT OR DRINK WHILE WATCHING THIS LORE SERIES - especially this video. Dear god, the part where Malthael abstained came up almost literally killed me, because I happened to be eating and nearly choked. GDI. The bit with Tyrael was great too. Glad I held off on the rest of dinner for the duration.
Dude I'm usually pretty critical of your news related stuff but this series is really good. Thanks for the content. Your "you whippersnappers" voice was amazing. well have to get you in to voice act our game
Cant wait for part 7 to come. Theres still the binding of the three Prime Evils in the soulstones by the Horadrim. Or even Tal Rasha containing Baal. Please do upload the next one! I am loving this lore series you are doing.
Watched Part 1 to 6 in a row. You have an incredible sense of comedy/humour. It's subtle, sometimes a single word or effect and the most important is that it ties extremely well with your script. It's easy to just chain-joke for 15min, it is way harder to place them within a tale. Looking forward to watch parts 7-8-9 later today. I'm now just waiting until 2nd November to start playing Diablo 3 on Switch wanting to dive into the elements of the lore you refer to. Great job !
Mendelns death isn't in any lore books that I'm aware of. He found the Priest of Rathma, took on apprentices, and lived a full life I assume. Xul, the necromancer in Diablo 2 is a priest of Rathma. The necromancer in D3 is also a priest of Rathma that was ordered to go out the dead that rose from the falling star back into their Graves.
Damn you Rhyker! You cannot do this! Letting us grasping for breath while waiting for the next épisode! Keep it up. Every time I watch one of the video of this lore serie, I want to go play Diablo3! Is it normal? First!
Really great series, Rhykker. Your storytelling and especially your comedic timing are wonderful. Binge watched the whole series and now I'm eagerly awaiting the next video!
I am pretty new to diablo and just started playing D2 - wanted to catch up on the lore and this is the most entertaining way to learn about it. Thank you for the awesome videos man!
i love the whistle from the cup when u were explaining the cup of wisdom lol im always gonna imagine the giant cup of feelings to constantly whistle now lol
Dude, you're pretty funny, and your videos are well cut for timing; good cliff-hangers at the end of each. Watched these lore videos multiple times, usually anytime new major content from Blizzard gets released or advertised. Well done.
“Fate” should have been: “Faith”. Maybe it was a typo when they first wrote it? Blizzard employee: “hmmm. Someone misspelled Fate as “fait”. Idiot....that’s not how you spell fate.”
Faith makes perfect sense, yeah. I wouldn't say it's a typo though, just part of the secularization of the west as well as the already secular China market. People tend to opt towards excluding religious elements whenever it's a question. Celestials vs infernals or not, Diablo isn't religious, but the concept of faith is.
Rhykker, I have these videos downloaded to my UA-cam account and I listen to them on repeat while at work. I've watched 1-6 about 8 times. I NEED EPISODE 7!!! :O Really though man, I've always loved your D3 build videos but this series is absolutely amazing :D
New to your content and new to diablo series (I'm playing diablo 4) your story telling and knowledge of the lore is absolutely amazing!! Thank you for these videos!!
I just found out about your channel. Diablo 2 is still one of my favorite games but I didn't have in depth knowledge about the lore. Thanks. I turned off adblock while listening.
Emo Rhykker. To quote The Dark Prince himself, "Never in my life have I needed something so much and never known until I received it." Goddamnit, that whole Tyrael bit nearly killed me XD
Hey, more! That part with random placements of Tyrael was lol inducing. I still think Imperius is the coolest of the bunch. Though all of them are very good. Except the Hope lady. She is too one dimensional imo. Counsellor Troi of High Heavens. :D I want to see more of Imperius.
The waning hours of March 2023 here. I currently grinding season 28 trying to get a dumb ring of royal grandeur and I just heard "Hell wins. Guess you don't need to play Diablo 4 now." Which was a reference that someone made during the stream where you were playing the Diablo 4 Beta and THAT'S a deep cut I now understand. Good times.
I like to imagine that the angel of fate was supposed to be the angel of faith and in production they were yelling across the office like.. Bob: Hey Adam, what was that last angel? Adam: Faith! Bob: Fate, got it! Thanks I’ll write that up. And it just never got changed.
great content. btw I wanna ask something remember that scene where Tyrael ripped off his wings? and perform a sacrilege? in that scene he became human, but human/Nephilim are both angel and demon in essence if that was to be the fact what would be tyrael who was an angel that sacrifice his angelic essence to be mortal. does that mean that tyrael by performing sacrilege he has gain also the power of the demons? making him also a human/Nephilim? lets remember that human/Nephilim are born with 2 both side so it would make tyrael not human for he is an angel who is a mortal angel now and he can't be a Nephilim or human because if he was he would also have the power stronger than both angel and demon if he had become a human/Nephilim.
Fun fact: the name "Angiris Council" is taken from a class of Hindu celestial guardians, called Angiris. These celestials were children of the Fire God Agni, and they were the omnipresent witnesses to all ritual contracts between mortals and gods. Most rituals were accompanied by a ritual sacrificial fires, in front of which mortals would make vows of sacrifice in exchange for receiving the blessings of the gods. The concept of using Fire as the element of contracts comes from basic chemistry - even today, to cook your food, you use fires in your stoves.
the rivers of blood were actually installed by Diablo himself, he had to take out a 2nd mortgage for those
No sympathy for the devil! 😄
@clockworkorange954 nah, it's just that this economy is so bad that even evil needs a little help
Malthael, oldest know-it-all brother.

3 years later, and I agree!!!
"You can not judge me! I am justice itself!" Best cinematic.
Ikr, too bad it doesn't work in real life :
I identify as a judge.

To bad I didn't see this earlier, could of had my meal not on my screen.
Ya I actually choked at the Tyrael part
Maybe there just needs to be some sort of standardised warning on Rhykker lore videos - do not eat or drink, choking hazard.
me too =))) was eating a croissant
I almost spit out my tea when the Tyrael figure was hanging upside down from his hat lol
Wonderful use of the Tyrael model. I really laughed at Tyrael hanging off our cap! Epic!
I was dieing of laughter with the tyreal segment, great job xD
"Notice me senpai" just carried on rolling around in my head with each transition.
dying*
Haha keep it up Rhykker, especially with the antics. The battery bit with Tyraels sword had me rolling.
i love after each sentence he moved tyrael in a different spot
Damn... the fact that the lore expands behind the decision of each archangel, so hard as to elaborate why one even changes his vote, is amazing.
Man. I never play diablo. But this lore are fascinating. I wish there are movies of this.
06:12 - automatic English subtitles - "archangel of faint".
- What's your decision, Itherael?
- Well... so... can I have a glass of wat*faints*
That Tyrael part xD god damn it
I lost it when It appeared hanging from his hat, haha.
It just kept getting funnier and funnier 😂
Dude I'm usually pretty critical of your news related stuff but this series is really good. Thanks for the content. Your "you whippersnappers" voice was amazing. well have to get you in to voice act our game
Imperious probably became the jerk he did due to always having to listen to Malthael going "Stay Awhile, and Listen!" for thousands of years on end.
Cant wait for part 7 to come. Theres still the binding of the three Prime Evils in the soulstones by the Horadrim. Or even Tal Rasha containing Baal.
Please do upload the next one! I am loving this lore series you are doing.
The final quest in D3 should be to restore Tyreal's wings.
I think he deliberately chose not to. He is still on the council but he chose to stay as a human.
Would've been better if that never happened in the first place though.
One damn fine Cain impression at 2:22

Absolutely loving this series
Want diablo adapted to séries in style supernatural
9:30
Damn man, that was funny but I'm more impressed that you sounded just like Jonathan Adams here.
If you ever need a side hustle, do this for books, movies and other lore series. You are so good at this.
What ever happened to Melen the follower of Tragul, as he was one of the only people to retain the memory of angels and demons?
Mendelns death isn't in any lore books that I'm aware of. He found the Priest of Rathma, took on apprentices, and lived a full life I assume. Xul, the necromancer in Diablo 2 is a priest of Rathma. The necromancer in D3 is also a priest of Rathma that was ordered to go out the dead that rose from the falling star back into their Graves.
Maybe we'll find out in D4.
Rathma also remembers, and he's also still around.
Damn you Rhyker! You cannot do this! Letting us grasping for breath while waiting for the next épisode! Keep it up. Every time I watch one of the video of this lore serie, I want to go play Diablo3! Is it normal?
First!
:D I'm with you buddy.
Minus the wanting to play d3. More like d1
"THE SWORD OF JUSTICE!" ~king
"all the battery dow-"
I love how you describe the story. Some people just give you the basics and leave it at that. New sub!
Malfael being apathetic,
Darth Traya:Apathy is Death.
Malfael:Then I shall become Death, and you cant stop death.
It's Malthael
Really great series, Rhykker. Your storytelling and especially your comedic timing are wonderful. Binge watched the whole series and now I'm eagerly awaiting the next video!

That Tyrael action figure being everywhere though. 🤘🤣
Loved it!
Awesome video. love the Tyrael figure bit.
“Fate” should have been: “Faith”. Maybe it was a typo when they first wrote it?

People tend to opt towards excluding religious elements whenever it's a question. Celestials vs infernals or not, Diablo isn't religious, but the concept of faith is.
No, because Faith is too close to Hope. Maybe Apathy would have been better.
fate actually makes sense according to the lore in this video
maybe having fate is a virtue / controlling it / not having it
but then how are hope and faith separate virtues?
Want diablo adapted to séries in style supernatural
Great content, amazing acting Rhykker, I love the lore and the way you present it. Keep it up, you're doing amazing.👍
I fucking lost it with every cut to Tyrael being moved all over his body over and over, idk why but that was too funny.
This is genuinely interesting, you're a very good orator and you manage to deliver a serious story while still making me laugh, keep it up ^^
Rhykker, I have these videos downloaded to my UA-cam account and I listen to them on repeat while at work. I've watched 1-6 about 8 times. I NEED EPISODE 7!!! :O
Really though man, I've always loved your D3 build videos but this series is absolutely amazing :D
9:31 Awesome Tyrael impression.
You videos have put my daughter to sleep for the last 3 nights...she just listened to diablo lore and crashes.. she just turned 9 months
It was a great idea to combine the lore of the council meeting and explore who the archangels are.
Absolute tears with the props! Not to mention learning the lore. Great series.
Tyrael is really begging for attention there. Might have to feed and walk him soon :D. Excellent vid, btw. Here from the Diablo 4 trailer!
Rofl. That "whippersnappers" line was almost a perfect Deckard Cain impression
Dang man you are making it real hard to choose between you and Game Lore Dash... You two have the best videos. I can't get enough. Lol
New to your content and new to diablo series (I'm playing diablo 4) your story telling and knowledge of the lore is absolutely amazing!! Thank you for these videos!!
I own and have read the Book of Cain and Book of Tyrael and I still watch these. The lore addiction is real.
I've never laughed harder at one of your videos. The Tyrael bit was amazing!
Love mini Tyrial part :D
I just found out about your channel. Diablo 2 is still one of my favorite games but I didn't have in depth knowledge about the lore. Thanks. I turned off adblock while listening.
Thanks man!
Where can I find this animation for the fight against diablo
Damn that Tyrael impression is pretty good
Finally this is out!!! You are awesome Rhykker!!!
Omg I laughed so hard with the Tyrael figure being in different spots lol 😂
Thank you Rhykker for that quality content. Detailed, funny, entertaining. Good shit mate x)
Who is here after the Diablo 4 reveal?
absolutely, brother!
I'm here after playing both betas lmai
Omg thus was 3yrs ago?
Can't wait for release
Here after the early launch. A fantastic game
I was dying laughing with presentation of Tyrael.... XD
You make a good Deckard Cain impersonation xD The emo part caught me off-guard too haha great job!
The best in the series, so far!!! Keep it up Rhykker!!!
Awww I want that Tyrael Toy Statue or something 😅 and also that part when he moves around his body, is very cute and funny for some reason 😇😂
Already know the story and lore, but I love your videos on the subject. You're a good story teller. More of this please!
Emo Rhykker. To quote The Dark Prince himself, "Never in my life have I needed something so much and never known until I received it."
Goddamnit, that whole Tyrael bit nearly killed me XD
Hey, more!
That part with random placements of Tyrael was lol inducing.
I still think Imperius is the coolest of the bunch. Though all of them are very good. Except the Hope lady. She is too one dimensional imo. Counsellor Troi of High Heavens. :D
I want to see more of Imperius.
"Malthael becoming anti-social after feeling lost and listening to Linkin Park". This hits close to home
Ive watched a few videos but it was you describing the virtue of Fate that got me to subscribe!
@rhykker wish these vids came out more frequently!
It should be noted that just as there are 7 Prime Evils, there are also SEVEN Archangel in Haven (Inarius & Yaerius).
A compilation with a sword huh? I love it 😍😍
Damn these videos are so good, I want moooooore!!!!!!!!
The Bayou Survivor yea I agree with you
The waning hours of March 2023 here. Good times.
Never really touched Diablo before today. But goddamn you got your boi hooked!
When you take into account the history between Tyrael and Imperious, the flash back of Tyrael's sacrifice in D3 is a lot more poiniant.
"God powered" weapons are ALWAYS formed in the heart of a dying star. Everybody knows that. LOL
Anthony Hargis
Forged by Peter Dinklage and his merry men I guess.
The blade itself is forged from a neutron star.
I like to imagine that the angel of fate was supposed to be the angel of faith and in production they were yelling across the office like..
Bob: Hey Adam, what was that last angel?
Adam: Faith!
Bob: Fate, got it! Thanks I’ll write that up.
And it just never got changed.
They already have hope
Seems like Tyrael found inspiration in humanity.
You cannot judge Rhykker, Rhykker is justice himself
Tyrael: "Stop moving me around!!"
This guy can make even the most monotonous of history lessons interesting with his narration
He has a tyreal action figure and a battery powered sword of tyreal
2:22 Nice Deckard Cain impression
dude, u`re awesome storyteller =D just loving the lore videos XD
Fate could be meant as destiny here. Destiny and how heroes interact with what they are destined to do is a motif in mythology
Yeah, but "destiny" is also not a virtue.
They could have used a better phrase, like "Guidance Counselor" or "Good in Bed."
2:20 weirdly good Deckard Cain impression
great content. btw I wanna ask something remember that scene where Tyrael ripped off his wings? and perform a sacrilege? in that scene he became human, but human/Nephilim are both angel and demon in essence if that was to be the fact what would be tyrael who was an angel that sacrifice his angelic essence to be mortal. does that mean that tyrael by performing sacrilege he has gain also the power of the demons? making him also a human/Nephilim? lets remember that human/Nephilim are born with 2 both side so it would make tyrael not human for he is an angel who is a mortal angel now and he can't be a Nephilim or human because if he was he would also have the power stronger than both angel and demon if he had become a human/Nephilim.
Hey, you do a pretty good Tyreal voice!
Thanks!
This series made me a subscriber. Keep it up!
The figurine moves was funny 😅
Just love this videos man keep the good work and making us understanding more about Diablo.
"Stay a while and listen"
wtf I can't stop watching
Love your description of Fate!
WOW! Rhykker has shrinking powers he shrunken the sword of justice
This is like movie marathon!
8:30 50 Shades of Light... oh my ... 😊
such an underrated comedian
Can we get these videos more often? I love it
lol that intro with your sword :)
Starts with some Tyrael Shenanigan gets out El-Druin; "Oh, the battery died", continues with the Tyrael Shenanigan.
I'm dead.

Dude I love the part of Tyrael! LOL!!!
Awesome vid, like always but did every friday a lore video become every second friday a lore video ?
Btw maybe my feeling for time is just bad xD
Amazing, CJ. Keep it up!
