These keep getting better and better. I have just completed my competency and have a 4 month waiting period ahead. In the meanwhile my trusty old Byrna HD will do the job just fine. And i'll continue using and carrying it even after I get my weapons (yes plural) licenses.
We bought the LE for our upcoming trip to CA and OR. We had no trouble shooting 4” groups centered on point of aim at 7yds after a practice magazine each. Admittedly, we are both POST qualified and NRA instructors. I’ve seen the video of the “very motivated” shooter letting himself be shot while taking his steel shots I’m not that tough. I had my bride take a shot at the center of mass on my duty vest, with me in it. While it didn’t leave a mark (yay Kevlar) it did make me say ouch.
I enjoy this series alot and can't wait for the next one ... hopefully very soon. By the way I have no problem grouping my shots in a 4 inch circle at 20 feet ... and I'm 65 years old.
Absolutely Spot On!!! The stats, reply rebuttals, & product proof speak for themselves. The use of deadly force depends on many different conditions " Only Demonstrated by the Un-Lawfull Person" ... Some may actually think it's a "Right" which it is in very few percentages of actual cases. In fact, the non felony use of deadly force, in which you won't be charged, doesn't exonerate you from being sued civilly for the loss of family member, loved one, or monetary supporter. That means YOU could lose all your "ASSETS" for making an incorrect decision. Example: Even my HD TAR12 first round is rubber buckshot. Time to get educated and get rid of the egos since most, if not ALL, making these negative posts have never been OFFICIALLY TRAINED IN THE USE OF DEADLY FORCE!!
Completely agree. Even in the military we were taught that you only use enough force to get yourself out of a situation when possible. Deadly force is only used in the most extreme situations when you have absolutely no other choice. It's always better to disable and disarm your aggressor and get away to safety than using deadly force and having to deal with the legal ramifications which can and will get you locked away for many years in today's society where criminals have more protective rights than law abiding citizens.

If you make it you will sell millions of them! . . . I have had an LP for years, my wife an SD, both with Crimson Trace sights. In California, with some bootleg pepper balls. Wouldn't go to San Francisco without it. Both accurate and effective. Both are awesome, but too big to carry daily on our small frames without freaking out the locals, especially the LP. . . The Crimson Trace laser sight is probably the best deterrent of all. If I saw that red dot on my chest I would bail out ASAP. . . My dream Byrna: A shortened, lightened, slimmed down Byrna SE compact with smaller grip (after all, there is virtually no recoil), a higher pressure but small CO2 cartridge and factory INTEGRATED Crimson Trace sights built into the frame itself. Eliminate all the pickaninny rails and extraneous material so that it fits in a pocket. Would fit in my/her pocket without trouble with full function to deter the bad guys. I believe it can be done. Can I do more than dream?
I listened to a lot of these comments prior to purchasing this launcher. I know in my heart some of the people who carry deadly force weapons have big mouths and are not prepared to deal with the consequences of their actions should they kill someone, neither psychologically or legally. I am a 2nd amendment advocate for certain, but these armchair warriors shouldn't carry anything. Nicely debunked, these videos solidified my purchase.
Unfortunately Pepperballs are illegal in California unless you have a Chemical Weapons Certification with the BSIS. Byrna was offering this, but it disappeared from their site a while ago because Newsom changed the laws again. I still haven't gotten a response from Byrna if the certificate we got while the program was offered is still valid in California.
Thanks for the comment. I’m in San Diego, CA and finished the Byrna Course. It would be a shame if that went to waste and now I can’t use chemical projectiles. You mention certification with BSIS. Is that another certification other than the one provided after finishing the Byrna course?
@@Antinavlasits illegal to shoot pepper ball tear gas ball projectiles, period, in California. Doesnt matter guard card or not. If cops find out you shot pepper balls, you will be criminally charged. Byrna course isnt even offered anymore its no longer valid so thats worthless.
My oldest son lives in So. Cal. and is in Security 17 years now. He carries his Byrna LE with the Byrna pepper projectiles. BSIS is the California state guard card/license and is issued by the Bureau of Security & Investigative Services (BSIS). It's not another shooting cert. You can buy the pepper rounds with this card in California to the best of my knowledge.

Byrna of course is silent on this as they don't want to say anything because that would make the liable is they are wrong. So at this point they are basically telling their customers that you're on your own legally even if you took the testing they offered and passed it.
I want to buy the Byrna LE one day, but I heard Byrna is coming out with a newer version. Is that true? Just my luck, I'd buy the LE, then a better one comes out. Lots of money to spend.
From what we've heard reported by some in the LTL community that have a close relationship with Byrna, they are redesigning the body of the LE to be one piece instead of two and that I'll be out sometime in the first half of 2024 hopefully. But Byrna as far as I know hasn't officerly announce this yet.

My only problem w/ Byrna anymore is the zig zags in the logo. They make it look more like a black sun type of simble than a target. I'm not the only one to mention it. All that's needed is to take out the zig zags.
I am sorry I bought my byrna LE because it is so fragile that I have to only use their co2 and their balls otherwise the gun becomes junk and voids the warranty
It's not legal to carry in NYC....... that's why Byrna won't ship it to NYC.....😢. Believe me I tried ordering from their site. It's a no go. I bet Byrna won't respond to this comment
Byrna's customer service is the worst I have ever encountered. Don't buy their product and expect them to lift a finger for you, if anything goes wrong. I forgot to purchase a maintenance kit when I got my launcher and they wanted $100CAD (with shipping) for a little bottle of oil. The kit is no where to be found in Canada. They wouldn't lift a pinky once they got my moeny and said the item is not refundable. Don't be a chump and just try something else.

CA, I have sent my "launcher" back for a refund b/c I find Byrna's advertising of this - AND the online product description to be misleading at best, my view is that you are intentionally deceiving. Why do I write this? No where on the pistol product description pages of your site do you state that the CA pistol does not ship with pepper balls, or state that these are illegal in CA. It was only after mine arrived with 'welt balls' and I ventured into your site thinking you sell the pepper ball al carte (wouldnt surprise me) - did I learn these to be illegal. Josh - at risk of being tagged "ignorant" by you I have to tell you that you ruined your brand for me - and perhaps those I tell of this. Maybe a new PR firm? A course in business ethics?, exit transaction to an ethical company?
perhaps you should have looked closer, there is literally a "pepper kit" and a "ca/ny kit" they are very distinct and easy to tell one from the other...
