- A lawyer who uses UA-cam as a platform to discuss the legality of self-defense posted a video specifically about Byrna's less-lethal self-defense tools from his point of view that showed an interpretation that we considered misleading and uninformed.
Josh and Luan candidly discuss the merits and mistakes of this lawyer's assessment.

I freakn love the comments "don't take a Byrna to a real gun fight"... No kidding. There is a time and place for the use of less lethal.

Great video, but Luan needs better audio.
I've been having my son and I practice drawing our Byrnas (empty) so that we can do it from muscle memory and yeah there are times we feel a little silly doing it while one of us pretends to be the aggressor and the other is the victim, but I need my son to be able to draw his without thinking if he needs to as he doesn't have the military training I have.
When I was watching the video and you showed the news report of the young man being charged with accidently shooting his friend, the first question that came to mind was "Why were they passing around a loaded gun"? The owner of the gun should have known better that to to that to start. It's a sad and preventable story.
I'm glad we have our two Byrna SD to use as a less lethal option in most cases.
If this attorney thinks the Kinetic rounds or the Pepperball rounds are ineffective, please invite him to come to Byrna Headquarters and allow himself to be shot with both so he can see just how "ineffective" they are 😂

Andrew is missing the point that most people that use a byrna aren't carrying a firearm.
or the problem that because its less lethal means people are more likely to use it which could drastically escalate the situation. bringing a Byrna to a gun fight would be ignorant.

Your guests audio made it very hard me to understand.
A lot of women have had threats that we became aware of at 60 feet. Many women have had threats that are not armed. Byrna is such a good defense for women.
I recently bought a "pistol" from Byrna, and made sure it was the bright orange version. The poor audio quality when Luan spoke made it a challenge to comprehend, even with the closed captioning turned on. Byrna needs to go back and add subtitles for when Luan is speaking on this video.
Initially, I was very interested in what a lawyer had to say about this subject. I understand his points, but he's off by a mile. This is pure lawyering gobbledygook....a mish-mash of specious assertions.
They were really hostile over there at that video. How idiotic does he think Byrna owners are? His entire argument is that Byrna looks like a gun. Just because it looks like a gun we know it's a Byrna and we don't use it interchangably with our firearms. The commenters over there acted like we are idiots.
imagine an attacker with a gun sees you pull out a thing that looks like a gun. bang bang, you just brought a Byrna to a gun fight. its not even about you pulling the wrong thing but escalating a situation that you arent properly equipped to handle.
The Byrna LE has long trigger pull like a revolver, and it is lighter than a fully loaded handgun. There is no way you could mistake this pistol for anything else once you have fired it. When you squeeze the trigger you know it is a Byrna.
Practice / training is the key!
I wish they would treat politicians the way they treat the police when they make a mistake. Politicians mistakes are much more deadly

And that's the glaring issue with this product, you won't know if the time is the wrong time until it's too late for you. what are you going to swap to your fire arm while you've already got your hands full with the wrong tool before the aggressor possible shoots you or ends your loved ones life?? seems like a silly tool.
Exactly its better than nothing!!! I honestly believe if i wouldn't of had my byrna on me i wouldn't be here right now especially how the guy was acting before hand.
In a Blue state a Byrna would be an option for self defense

You, Byrna, have to keep in mind that probably 100% of your viewers are accustomed to watching interviews on news media, and so, your lack of video professionalism, really makes it hard to listen to. You should consider better lighting and better audio quality if you want your message to go out. Your message is important, don't stifle it with lack of professional videos.
I totally agree. It seems these aren’t proofed at all when covering this topic which is silly.
Except of course, don’t have a Byrna in your pocket when asking people in the neighborhood who are using a table saw outside up to 10pm to please stop.
I was forced to do so after the local sheriff didn’t respond to repeated requests for a visit.
Anyhow, the long and short of it, is they called the police saying I had a gun (despite my repeatedly saying it was a pepper ball launcher).
I’m now facing felony menacing charges.

@giovanninopanderino5235 no animus whatsoever. Just puzzled by the tone of your comment. It has the tone of not wanting to take any personal responsibility whatsoever. I don't doubt there are many cases where law enforcement are overzealous and even erroneous in their actions. But your not so veiled attempt to put it on Byrna is just odd that's all.
Hopefully you'll be able to sort it all out in court, or even better, have it thrown out before it goes to trial.
