    I’m so disappointed! As a mother of a 3 year old and residing alone with my son, I was super excited and about to purchase the new Byrna Le option until I did a little research and found that in my state of CA, they have banned the use of pepper balls on the Byrna. Almost every single state in our country is allowed to own the Byrna with the pepper ball option with the exception of 2-3 states which one happens to be CA. So upsetting. It’s ridiculous how the states that are known to have a lot problems like New York and CA where the citizens are at risk of violence are being limited from having the opportunity to own all the necessary non-lethal options to use in order to protect themselves, their family, their property. It’s simply infuriating that we cannot protect ourselves like all the other states and be allowed to have the pepper ball option which appears to be the most effective with the Byrna. I have to get out of CA I’m so sick of this state. Gas prices are up to $7 dollars, food prices, and housing are is so excessively high that crime, and homelessness just keeps getting worst! To make matters worst we are not allowed to use pepper balls to protect ourselves, property, and loved ones!

    • @AirgunAlley
      @AirgunAlley  8 місяців тому +13

      Wow, I’m so sorry! And that’s just ridiculous and makes no sense! Is the ban in ALL pepper balls or just Byrna’s? Because Byrna makes some very mean ones that are mixed with other irritant stuff. Could be that a more plain pepper ball is allowed? Not sure…
      Someone just told me that in Brazil, for example, they banned rubber and pepper balls, but they allow metal ammo. Pure non-sense!
      Anyway, the kinetic rounds are really amazing and very effective. I’m going to test some aluminum balls in my next video. I have a feeling those will be even more damaging.
      Those, I’m sure, you’ll be able to get.
      Anyway I hope you’ll be able to find the perfect solution for you 🙏🏽
      And how cool are 3 year olds??? My daughter is nearly 3 and it’s just 😍😍😍

      Pepper balls are banned in CA. I had some shipped into CA by accident, I didn't know they were banned at the time, nor did the person who sold them to me. I wish I hadn't spent the money. IMO they aren't enough to stop a real crazy, just make them crazier. Interestingly enough, you can throw pepper spray in your Amazon cart and they'll deliver. Miami is spot on the kinetic balls, I think they are a far better option. The coconut will vouch for that point 😂😂🤣

      CA looks like a mess. I’m in NY which is not great but better. I agree that it is terrible that our states ban anything like this. You can still use the kinetic balls.

    It should be noted that although this technology is not lethal , if your shot hits the person in the eye they will most likely lose that eye forever. In Florida with the "stand your ground" laws that wouldn't be a problem but elsewhere you could be facing a law suit. With that in mind head shots should be avoided unless the person is visibly armed.

      If a person's pushed you to the point that you need this to defend yourself the last thing I would worry about is their eyes face shot every time

    • @nrich5127
      @nrich5127 8 місяців тому +3

      It depends on the laws in the State you're in - some will look at it as self defense and others will say you went over the line. Remember if someone loses an eye because of your actions , that's permanent and they will try to sue you in court. This can be very expensive in lawyers fees even if you're right. If the person you shot is dirt poor they will get free legal aid and you will never get a penny from them in the meantime it will cost you 10's of thousands of dollars. Think before you shoot.

    So glad Byrna finally contacted you. We've been petitioning them for the past 5-6 months telling them about your channel and that they need to send you some of their stuff.
    I love my Byrna, it's been reliable and hasn't failed me yet. While it's not the most powerful launcher on the market, it's still more than capable of doing the job without causing permanent injuries.
    With a little practice you can pierce, switch off safety and fire in one smooth draw. Like every other gun, it's all about practice, practice, practice to get proficient with it. The Byrna LE is actually 22-24 Joules for the first shots and average 16-18 for the rest of the shots.

      @AirgunAlley  8 місяців тому

      A huuuuge thank you for all your efforts behind the scenes! I’m so happy it finally worked out and I have to say, I am dealing with the nicest people at Byrna.
      And thanks for those details, I was basing the “16j” on what I saw on their website, but indeed that damage is very consistent with 20+ joules.
      My HDR 68 is technically 16j but in the heat it has the same destruction effects. Anyway the video after the next one will be the Byrna and the chronograph 😎
      Thank you again so much and always

The different types of ammo to ues etc. and feel half decently safe? I would really appreciate any advice from anybody reading this. Very cool videos man I love them

I held my breath high with one hand on my mouth before that first shot, wondering "whom" does this byrna LE think 'he' is, to take on the mighty hard coconut, especially in the hands of Airgun alley who is known to be harsh on the likes of hdr's, dragon claw's etc? Great video. I've been following Byrna products for a while, I'm unable to buy them though, because they don't sell them in the UK. I think the launchers would be legal in the UK, but the pepperballs probably would not. I didn't know about that simultaneous puncture-shot on the first trigger press. I thought it was like the Tippmann TIPX where the first shot punctures but does not discharge a projectile. If I'm ever fortunate enough to get my hands on one, you might have just saved me from shooting myself in the foot 😅.

    Airgun Alley Miami: Byrna has an "Investors" link at their website that is very detailed. Looks as though their value is really taking off with the release of the Byrna LE. I just watched an associated news clip wherein government representatives from Brazil toured the U.S. Byrna plant during consideration of arming the country's police forces with Byrna LEs. I also learned that Byrna has already equipped 300,000 LEOs in various locals with Byrna less lethal defense launchers.

      @@AirgunAlley I just got a Gavle a couple weeks ago and have had a ton of trouble with its reliability... which is a bummer because when it does work, it's SUPER powerful and feels awesome (trigger is a little wanky, but it's good enough). So, my issues: I had the bolt o-ring blow out on just the 7th shot !!... CO2 leaked out and I didn't know WHAT happened... tried to open it up based on website instructions and it wouldn't unscrew... emailed them they offered to just refund me... then on a second email they explained how I could try harder to remove the bolt (it had glue on it) and then I was able to see that the o-ring blew out and was stuck in the barrel.... so I replaced it (with the help of customer support - they sent me UA-cam video links).... then it worked great for 10 more shots... then it messed up again... on the first shot all the CO2 leaked out... checked the o-ring, it was fine... tried again: same issue... all the air leaked out, sputtering on the first shot.... super weird and a bummer again.... got home... tried it again; this time it worked. Ugh. They're offering a refund, but not offering any explanation... they almost seem happy to just refund me and lose me as a customer. It's odd. Maybe they're getting a lot of these issues from people and are planning a 2.0 version that actually works! I would think if my issues were rare, they'd be much more willing to make me happy by sending me a new one... or apologize and tell me it must be an anomaly and get me one that's reliable..... weird experience for such a pricey launcher.... wish it worked well, it feels awesome and SEEMS well made in every other way... and when it does work it's KILLER. Thinking about getting a Byrna instead, but they don't hit as hard.... hmm. SIDE NOTE: they did say that the Gavle has no regulator (to keep it slim) so it actually has liquid CO2 in it when you twist it in, so if it's left for more than a handful of minutes it'll freeze the o-ring and cause failures... something I wish they'd put on their website... I'd taken that 7th shot on the same (first) CO2 with about 10 minutes in between: so that was likely the cause of the o-ring break... but the other failures I had happened when using it perfectly within seconds of twisting the CO2 in. So yeah, beware the Gavle when it comes to reliability. If they were a bit more apologetic and seeked to solve my issues I wouldn't post publicly like this.... but they gotta get their customer support/service act together IMO. Hope you get a chance to review one and see...

    Thank you for reviewing one of the hottest launchers on the market right now. The stock velocity of the projectiles is impressive. Amazing what those 3g nylons were able to do to that "hard, genuine, Dominican Republic coconut!" Sean Hannity has also been promoting Byrna to his millions of listeners. I heard that at least one police department has dumped their tasers for the Byrna LE. Might not be a bad time to buy Byrna stock! Thanks again, Miami! @AirgunAlley Thank you in return for your response! I am honored! You truly have a unique style, presentation, and sense of humor that makes learning about "launchers," the term I prefer for legal reasons, fun. I always look forward to your new videos! FYI to you and your followers, LEOs in particular: We, Rochester, NY, had an assault on an officer on September 25th, wherein the officer attempted to use a taser, ineffectively, to subdue a suspect and was consequently assaulted and required hospital services as a result. My apologies to the officer and the RPD if I did not get all of those facts exactly correct; however, my point is that the encounter was yet one more incident wherein a taser was ineffective in subduing a suspect and wherein a Byrna pepperball/projectile launcher may likely have been far more effective. There have been far too many instances when the far more expensive tasers have failed our LEOs. It is, IMO, way past time to equip them all with the Byrna LE or an equivalent defensive/subduing tool. Btw, yes, investing in this technology, especially at this stage, would like be very wise. Peace and thanks again to you, Miami! You truly are opening eyes and saving lives! Vaya con Dios!

    In the state of NJ it is almost impossible to get a conceal carry permit without being in law enforcement, I've lived in the hood here for about 10 years now, an in those 10 years i was the target of car vandalism and a attempted car jacking. I have to worry about hoodlums an police at the same time, ive had more interactions with the police an being illegally searched than interactions with hoodlums, an arkward situation, don't get me started with NYPD, anyways, until i get my carry permit, this could be a solution 4 me so i don't go to jail for tryin to protect myself. Yes I can fight but....... i aint got the time for that at my age, not tryin to be brawlin out in these streets. Pepper then the kinetic full clips, that's the recipe already decided in my head.

    So this Byrna thing outputs about 20 joules in the first shot. I'm trying to get an idea of what that means. I understand a bit about airsoft, so that's my reference point. A 0.2 gram airsoft BB fired at just over 300 fps has about 1 joule of energy upon leaving the muzzle; a 0.5 gram airsoft BB first at just under 500 fps has just under 5 joules of energy. Consider an automatic airsoft rifle firing a 30 round magazine of 0.5 gram BBs in about two seconds. I'm guessing it wouldn't be as bad as a shot or two from the Byrna, but I'm not sure. Anyone know?

    the best part of this video was the ending where you were holding YOUR LITTLE HEART saying good-bye , lol , i know You and Your Wife are very proud of Yall's creation !!!! that's what real life is all about OUR BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN . enjoy the time you have with her my awesome brother .!!!
    Now throughout the video i was only wondering one thing , why isnt he using the chronograph lol .
    i was super excited to hear at the end , your next video would be more scientific !!! LMAO !!!
    i must admit brother , from the very beginning i have often advocated against all these higher priced real firearm priced paintball toys , that greedy companies put these outlandish price tags on .
    about 2 years ago , i did a lot of research , comparing, evaluating , weighing out all the many exhaustive PROS and CONS on everything LESS THAN LETHAL , blah , blah ,blah ,blah ,blah , LOL.
    I at the time decided , that 2 or 3 was always better than one so i eventually settled on the less expensive route to see what i could accomplish in making them the very best they could be , and i did just that !!!.
    I must, must , must admit one thing though , when it comes to looks , BYRNA is one of the most finest looking less than lethals out there , but looks alone wont save your life in a real self defense situation .
    BYRNA , i want you to know , the only reason i clicked on this video was because MY BOY , AIRGUN ALLEY MIAMI was doing a review on your over-priced real firearm priced paintball marker !!!!
    to this date , i still believe , buy the lower priced paintball markers like one of my all time favorites HDP.50 , 89 TO 109 DOLLARS , PUT IN THE PROPER FIRING PIN , 2 PIECE TUNING BARREL AND SNIPER EXTENTION , FILE AND FIT ALL INTERNALS , POLISH THOSE THAT NEED , DYE THE SLIDE BLACK FOR AESTHETICS PURPOSES ONLY , AND YOU WILL HAVE A VERY CAPABLE AND EFFECTIVE AND MOST IMPORTANT , "RELIABLE "LESS THAN LETHAL OPTION THATS TWO AND A HALF TIMES MORE POWERFUL ,PLUS FOR YOUR MONEY ,and of course , it may not look as nice as the byrna , but , just like so , so ,so many women i have know throughout my life , looks are definitely not always the most important thing to consider LOL !!!
    i said all that to say this , i am a fair man , its always been all about the facts , and i cant wait to see yur next video on the subject matter my AWESOME BROTHER !!!!

      Kurt with Grimburg actually is achieving over 40 joules out of the box using their heavier ammo.

    Hello there. It's been quite awhile since I've been here. Medical issues galore, but, I'm OK now. I gave up on everything. Deleted all my subscriptions thinking I won't be around to watch and comment. Anyway, I'm back in the running. Yesterday I came across a gun box that was gathering dust waaay back in the closet. Haven't seen it for many years. Too much of my wife's junk around it, on top of it, and, well, you get the picture. Anywho, it was nice to see three of my old friends in the box. One BB gun, and two pellet guns. Crosman 2240, a Crosman American Classic P1377BR, and a Umerex Walther AR 72908 (James Bond knock off). Watching your channel again, I thought how nice it would be if you added another feature to your channel around the three guns I have and others, of course, along the same lines. Just a thought. I want to be plink with them in my back yard, and be quiet like a church mouse because the old farts around here will most likely . . . Oh, my, the neighbors shooting a gun in his backyard . . . oh, dear, oh, dear. These older people around here are in everybody's business. Nosey you know what's. Anywho, nice to see your channel again. I'm glad I'm back, able to get back.

      I can’t tell you how happy I am to hear from you! I’m so sorry things got hairy for a while - but I’m very relieved, as it seems like it’s all behind you now?
      Sounds like you’re back in full force with an enhanced appreciation for life!
      I wasn’t sure if maybe you just needed a break from my videos, as they can be repetitive I’m sure…
      That’s so cool you found that box and, as always, you read my mind.
      I’ve been thinking of going back to doing some good old bb/pellet replicas of old classic guns.
      But at the moment I’m blessed to have finally reached one of the main goals that I had set for my channel: have gun manufacturers send me their products to review. So at the moment I’m riding this wave… til it lasts hehehe
      Anyway, thank you so much and welcome back!! Next time should you disappear again, I’ll make sure to come check on you! Stay well my friend…

      @@AirgunAlley it's nice to be back, and love the direction you are taking with your channel. Classic air guns. That truly interests me, and when you get a chance to add those to your channel would be awesome. You know, I was thinking about getting a Daisy Red Ryder BB rifle. I had one as a kid and would go down to the rivine near my house and shoot up a storm. My wife said, "not another gun!" I'll get it and sneak it in the house haha! Looking forward to your upcoming videos. Take care buddy!!

    I`m poor. I`m also not allowed to have firearms due to schizoaffective disorder/bipolar type diagnosis although I hunted for decades with this condition with no issues. Sooo...now I`m no longer allowed to defend myself even though I have serious physical limitations due to a failing spine and am on disability. I cannot afford to even use a car or drive on my medications and live way out in the Louisiana boondocks in a camper far off the main road in a secluded area. So I basically HAVE TO BE a prepper due to my isolation & low income situation and lack of access to stores, help, transportation, severe weather threats, restricted diet choices, etc. I had serious armadillo issues in my tiny would-be vegetable garden this year after moving here. I started with a Daisy 880. Not good enough. Tried a cheap Airtact 22 caliber. Dropped about half. Others ran off which made me feel terrible. Tried a cheap Zada 25 caliber. Same. How can a low income person with zero credit get something that works? Can anyone here tell me how to stop a 12 pound armadillo? Should I sacrifice one of mine to dieseling? Does it really destroy break barrels? If so, in what way?

    From the looks of what it did to a coconut, I'd say a headshot would be pretty lethal. Seeing that this is a non-lethal gun! 🤔

    • @AirgunAlley
      @AirgunAlley  3 місяці тому

      Hi friend! A coconut is very different and much, much, much weaker than a human skull. It does however deliver a lot of power, but the kind of power that should hurt a lot, not kill

    Question me being a single women I live up north. Not the winter time people wear bubble thick coats. Do you think this LE would be affective against someone wearing a thick winter coat?

    • @AirgunAlley
      @AirgunAlley  8 місяців тому +1

      Hi and good question!! There are several videos out there of people in various situations and wearing a variety of clothing, getting hit by Byrnas, I just watched one yesterday that had a compilation of these video clips… I’ll try to find the link.
      The downside of Byrna is that it shoots only round projectiles VS other Revolver style models that also take more pointy ammo.
      I believe thick clothing and jacket will drastically reduce the power of a round ball.
      But if the situation is truly drastic, it’s best to aim towards more exposed parts…
