I'm glad you liked the ship, and absolutely, it should be tweaked a fair bit to make it better for survival. Really love your design work and especially the lighting you do. I will be loading it into one of my worlds and playing around with it. Have you got any plans on building a carrier? Maybe in around the size of the old IMDC Europa carrier.
I love this design! Good combination of functional and aesthetic, not too minmax for my tastes, I might be the only SE player that prefers all thrusters be external, but I appreciate any ship that's willing to do so and still keep the thrusters well defended! Really fun design challenge making something be defended and still look cool like that!
Yeah, I always liked seeing thrusters on the outside of a ship as well, I think it looks more realistic and I've never really put internal thrusters into practice.

Such a good ship design, I honestly struggle to give my builds good detail, I tend to prioritize function over looks and then worry about how much PCU I'll use adding details.
"People aren't fans of external thrusters" ... I personally like ships that actually make sense and aren't just the cheesiest possible exploit of all the flaws in the build system.
Would love to watch you develop a fleet of ships with all the features you like. Myself I like a modular fleet idea with everything overbuilt in internal space so everything can be maintained from within and have a honeycomb like structure like some halo ships. also hiding weapons so they can be maintained and such from within is also cool to me. the new custom turret system and pop up turrets has me nerding out a bit. Imagine a shipyard building ships from per-designed modules that can be popped together quickly and lightly reinforced a bit and added to so it makes a serious ship or station.
That analogy doesn't hold up because a car needs its wheels on the outside in order to function. In SE, you can put thrusters inside a ship and have them work just as well and be protected.

Couldn't agree more. People who care about lots of hidden thrusters, don't care about PCU, and thus probably haven't engaged in pvp outside of very heavily modded servers. They do it for aesthetics primarily anyways. And then they use the reasoning that it serves a tactical purpose (which is somewhat true), while forgetting all the added pcu they wasted to enclose it all....which is the antithesis of pvp thinking XD
"large amount" of forward facing firepower, I find this quite funny, my small 3x3 fighters have nearly the same with 6 artillery cannons. Obviously this is an aesthetic build but it's quite under powered none the less.

Also small block to large block retrofits are pretty scary too, if a bit wasteful cause small block anything is wasted effort to weld. I've seen fighters with large block rails welded haphazardly to their hull...and they're effective enough...as a first strike kamikaze.
Meh, in every single one of these spaceship building games you can just slap infinite weapons on everything without any downsides. A cheese build will always outperform a build that actually looks like it makes sense.
One thing that I can see that can kill this ship is if someone was to destroy the turrets on a entry point they could board the ship and could go on a rampage because I saw very little interior turrets to protect the inside. But then they could get killed by the crew but it’s risky to get onboard in the first place. But if this ship was to be swarmed with fighters, there’s a high chance of the ship getting damage on critical parts with constant strafes on the ship. But still a great ship.
you know I always enjoy the series but I do miss the days the Drone Empire hunting down Captain Jack maybe you two could do a cooperation like the old days and restore the Drone Empire

Somebody told me that conveyors in a line like that is bad and that you shouldn't do that because it makes lag. Something about the way conveyors move objects around is different than the tubes
Oh and not to mention add a little bit more type of turrets into it and also Shields to the game and also Shield doors and also make doors a little bit bigger so if you have a bigger vessel you want to put a touch of hanger you can Elise a 3 to 4 part door where you can put bigger ships inside or five blocks to be honest just in case you never know don't want to accidentally hit the top of the damn pardon destroy half the damn vessel
Sadly no dedicated anti fighter weapons (autocannons, especially autocannon player made turrets) and no secondaries other than rockets (assault cannons and especially assault cannon player made turrets).
Nobody in pvp would willingly pilot a small block ship against a large block one. You'd just be wasting resources for no good reason. Unless by fighter you mean a small large block ship. But I do agree, autocannons are good for swatting flies, PMT's though break far too easy for my tastes, despite their offensive prowess their personally locked range of 800m is offputting. But then, there are those obsolete missile turrets XD My biggest issue is the PDT/C's are all sunken emplacements which ruins all their firing arcs anyways. Honestly though, you can get away with nothing but arty turrets, but without superfiring the emplacements to send clouds of death at 2km in large firing groups it's all wasted shots anyways.
Honestly I really wish that they would a unlimited resources thing on the Xbox and the PlayStation for that we could actually build stuff that we would want to build the way we wanted instead of working with a small amount because I do actually have a quite a bit of plans with bigger vessels and bases but I can't do it with limited resources the hopefully Space Engineers decides to want to update and put unlimited resources into the game for we can actually do what we would like to do and have fun with it with our friends who can actually bring in their stuff and we'll have fun with that as well instead of making it extremely small and limited not to mention to deal with the leg that goes into the game when other people try to join and they have leg problems for they can barely move when you have things active or whatever or or move not at all because that's another thing that people kind of get annoyed over they stop playing the game because while they can't play the game with her friends properly or there's not pretty much unlimited resources where people can actually do what they would like

It wastes pcu (pcu that coulda been used for more guns), increases mass (mass is bad on a ship flying for performance and pvp). No, no you do not want maintenance access on a ship in combat. Instead (if your server allows for it) you want welders behind weaponized components, and explosive components. And if your server is VERY generous, you want the ship blueprinted and on its own projection to wholesale replace important internals and turret emplacements in combat. 5. it wastes more mass and pcu on a lot of decoration. 6. Scripted LCD's....on a warship. What servers these days give you the freedom to have scripts that isn't already a modded lagfest?. XD. I mean, each one of those wasted industrial pipes on the hull, while beautiful greebling...each one of those is 10pcu. ten...that's ten heavy armor (or blast door) blocks you coulda used to protect a hydro tank...PER wasted pipe. XD just for looks! And there's quite a handful of them, just hanging out, looking like exposed entrails. *SMH* CMON LSG, you've played this game long enough to know showcasing this as a functional warship is absolutely disingenuous ...a meta first strike rail/arty axial charger destroyer would end that gunbrick in seconds flat, and do it with way less pcu and mass, way more speed and maneuverability to dodge its poorly placed and easily blocked turrets, and warp home for a breakfast of smoked kippers. What this is, is a VERY beautiful concept ship with amazingly good greebling. The artistic design is tasty. But with no sloped armor in sight (to take advantage of the new armor sloping mechanics to redirect fire away from internal components), everything sharp angles, flat planes, and sunken emplacements on a brick design, it is not a pvp vessel. Depending on what internals it has it might make a conversation piece of an econ ship though.

New players coming to the game see content like this and they believe it. Only to have their hopes dashed when they try to blueprint it in to find out "oh look, it's a paperweight" or at the very worst "so blatantly craps all over PSU and server limits no server would permit it" Not everybody gets the good graces to dictate to others what their farcical modded servers which permit unlimited PCU to dump whatever they please into the world. And not everybody wants to be locked in a single player world to enjoy space legos in creative...alone. By themselves. That said showcasing it as a combat vessel is wildly disingenuous to newer players who will come in, see this content, then learn first hand what disappointment and heartbreak means, the second they think "LSG vetted it! it must be awesome!" only to hit a wall the moment that programmable block tries to weld in, or its PCU goes over the servers allowances. Or worse, they think cause it was showcased as a combat vessel they go in thinking it is, and actually take it to a fight to learn the hard way it's an Econ ship with some poorly placed PDT's and an underwhelming axial battery for a ship of it's size.
Here's a better idea. When showcasing a ship, how about not just showcasing its beauty, but what it's PCU is...what its block count is...and how many of which kind of block are in the grid, if it has sub grids or not. What it's actual intended purpose is. And then show off how it performs? Instead of just going "Oooh pretty! Look I shot a hole in it! it must be light armor!" That way, people who play on servers with different allowances can know if its a ship for them or not. Instead of showcasing it as something it isn't (like a combat ship), and wouldn't even make it through the front door of an official server (do you even know what their block and pcu limits are man? There's a reason why people care who aren't you). And with those programmable blocks needed for those lcd's would assuredly not make it past most privately hosted servers, either. Show case it for what it IS...not what it isn't. What it IS, is a very pretty, very large gunbrick, with a seemingly mildly aggressive thrust profile, with (for some reason) focus on economy, and interior beauty for something with the title "destroyer" ...while it certainly has some of the armaments of a functional destroyer, as a combat vessel it's going to fail someone badly who is expecting more than a pretty screenshot out of a 'destroyer'. Here's an idea, shoot it with arties where a gas tank is gonna be, not in a spot where you know they aren't. Does it go deadstick after one shot? If it does, its a high pcu conversation piece...otherwise it's a high pcu gunbrick with poor combat design choices. A pretty ship. But is it a pretty trophy to put on your bookshelf, or is it a destroyer? And don't pretend arty turrets can't target things properly when its very obvious those skirting blocks inset around the cannons are hampering what limited firing arcs they already have. Be genuine. Be critical. Give people a reason to want to use the ship. Encourage beauty creativity AND functionality. SE is already littered with a workshop fulla concept ships that can't fulfill their supposed purposes.

I find it kinda hilarious that to run this "warship" on the LSG server you would have to take OFF some guns. But even unmodified it wouldn't stand a chance even there.
@Daniel Warren it's what you would obviously come up with ship design wise. I'm not saying there isn't alot of detail or effort gone into it. but it's space they don't have to make space ships look so boring 🤷 they can be any shape not just.. insert generic obvious thought process ship design.

Awesome ship. Great use of space. Lovely interior detailing and lighting. Probably one of my favorite reviewed ships so far.
This ship would also do well with the defensive shields mod. Heavy/good armour and good shields.

I am truly desperate for a series where you get some friends and have ship to ship battles with some of these larger ships.

I think 6 art guns may be a bit much for a fighter...

I like the design of a ship I think they should have added armor plating around the ship to give it a more ferocious look to it

That was a very interesting read! I appreciate the feedback. And yeh, the ship was mostly made for its looks. I never cared about PCU or optimization of it.
I find it kinda hilarious that to run this "warship" on the LSG server you would have to take OFF some guns. But even unmodified it wouldn't stand a chance even there.
As good as this is ... It's not unique 🤷 or interesting to look at. If we are honest..
@Daniel Warren it's what you would obviously come up with ship design wise. I'm not saying there isn't alot of detail or effort gone into it. but it's space they don't have to make space ships look so boring 🤷 they can be any shape not just.. insert generic obvious thought process ship design.
