    "Supressing" the Oil my ass XD Eternity jumped away and left us out high and dry 3 separate times and forced a crippled Oil, with half forward thrust and all 3 main guns gone, to stick to her tail, Big E's known weakest spot. CDF whittled us down, and while the Big E was distracted, invaded my dearest cruiser and made us put her down.
    I also recall the Oil surviving being separated from her formation in Season 1, Episode 5, for a lengthy amount of time XD Autumn was a good ship though. What a shame.

    I liked the Autumn, and not just because of the reasons you listed. The design of the vessel's hull was reminiscent of a Turian Dreadnought from Mass Effect, with the long, tapering design. The color scheme chosen for its paint was very nice as well.
    As for the combat record, I quite like stories of any ship that just plain refuses to die. Perhaps next season will have CDF-Descended Riders building more of the ship?
    One thing that I would like to see in the future is a breakdown of the CDF Leviathan. I know it was goofy, but it didn't stick around for too long and I thought it was an interesting design. I'd like to hear your thoughts on the design of the vessel, it's tactical uses, and just an in-depth look at the vessel in general.

    • @admiralmallard7500
      @admiralmallard7500 2 роки тому

      Speaking of the leviathan, we were given an option to make a Dreadnought esc vessel. But (hopefully not ruining the magic) we actually decided for a bit of a meme to convert a CDF Forward Operating Base into a mobile gun platform. Tbh we had no idea how it would do but it exceeded our expectations! Both the hammer and the Hermes drive have intresting stories. During testing the Hammer was tested specifically against the Eternity, using a salvo script we managed to crack Eternitys shields in a single salvo! That was the key to the ship, also acted as extra armour for the CIC till the Eternity *bypassed* it. The Hermes drive meanwhile was from the CDF Survivor, the destroyer we "completed" on the moon. Due to its haphazard construction it had an unstable hydrogen core that gave it powerful engines. When under Refit and repair the core was removed and granted directly onto the rear pad of FOB Leviathan. And finally on the side mounts we jerry rigged a turret slaving control and got to test the first quad 400mm! Gotta run but lemme know if there's anything else you wanted to know.

    • @Sytheking
      @Sytheking 2 роки тому +1

      Kind of an odd idea, but I was thinking of writing an in-universe encyclopedia or history book entry explaining the Leviathan, its history, and its legacy. Could you explain what the CDF's primary tactical doctrine was in early season one was and when the Leviathan was commissioned? Also, what was the reason in-universe that the CDF and Riders were fighting?

    • @admiralmallard7500
      @admiralmallard7500 2 роки тому

      @@Sytheking Our tactics through S1 were mainly mobility based using fast and light vessels. The Levi was lore wise took the whole season to win, presumably started around episode 5, was commissioned prior to 19 and tested in 19. The Rider CDF war was sparked because the riders were a lawless faction posing a threat to civilian trade under the CDF, and their quiet backing from the first fleet.

    Very interesting, I’ve had large ship instances similar to that but in games people probably wouldn’t dare look at, the ship was a capital and was very strong, but that came to a slow close when a few newer enemy vessels took her out, and soon did the rest of the fleet.

    While there was no single truly legendary ship among the Naz'Ziam class that proved to be more survivable, the class in and of itself was designed to be survivable and proved it's time and time again against ships that supposedly outclassed it in every way. At the average of only 118 meter sin length, the Naz'Ziam class is at best a Corvette and at worst, a Dropship, yet even Capitol class ships gave this vessel a wide berth when they could, terrified of it for three reasons.
    Hitting it was next to impossible, even with missiles locking onto it, even at close quarters with Gauss or MAC rounds, this ship with its four high powered Thremuel Engines, to mounted, forward, two mounted rearward, and with all crew in gyroscopic seating that would spin them into whatever position was optimal for their survival for maneuvers being executed made it stupid difficult to hit, especially when you factored in that the pilot was connected to the ship by a neuro link. What it's sensors saw, they saw, what they willed to happen, the ship did as if the ship were an extension of the pilot.
    Believe it or not though, the Naz'Ziam's maneuverability was not it's greatest defense. No, it's greatest defense was its Mjolnir armor which it had in lieu of shields. That's right, the Naz'Ziam class didn't even have shields, just armor, but to add to your incredulity, this armor was no harder or tougher than modern day aluminum. Now, as you're picturing this very maneuverable ship with no shields, and armor that modern day warships would scoff at, know this. Mjolnir armor, when a sufficient current is put through it and with enough current on supply to fully power it for what is to come, Mjolnir armor will greet all incoming fire, such as a MAC round, with an equal and opposite reaction of energy, blasting out at it, hopefully just deflecting it away, but in the event of a direct it, utterly neutralizing the momentum of the round (however, direct hits need more energy to counter, thus, remain mobile, try not to get hit in the first place.) If enough ordinance is placed onto a single armor plate of Mjolnir armor on a Naz'Ziam without enough time for its capacitors to recharge, it can be overwhelmed and without sufficient power to blast away ordinance, it is rendered almost useless. As you might have already put together, energy weapons are simply absorbed by Mjolnir armor. This isn't to say it is invulnerable to energy weapons, enough shots striking a single armor plate of Mjolnir armor will cause it to overcharge and detonate with enough force to utterly annihilate the Naz'Ziam and a lot of what is nearby, but that's one of the primary reasons why the Naz'Ziam is made to be so maneuverable so as to not allow that to happen.
    So when combining these defenses together, extreme maneuverability in tandem with Mjolnir armor, this ship is a dancing devil in space that is a nightmare for its foes, but we haven't even touched on what truly makes the Naz'Ziam terrifying. That's right, these two defenses pale in comparison to its third and most primary form of defense, for as they say in war, the best defense is a fabulous offense.
    Now, the Naz'Ziam is a versatile ship, it can have all kinds of weapons strapped onto its many, many hardpoints, but the primary and most deadly in its arsenal is what is seemingly just a Gauss Cannon located along the spine of the ship. Now, you may be scratching your head as you wonder "How on Terra is that anything special?" well, hypothetical reader, here is why. This Gauss rifle fires off rounds that are not just oversized basketballs of metal, no, no, no... For these rounds are actually made up of a close derivative of Mjolnir armor that, for a short period of time, will do something very similar to Mjolnir, in that any physical object it encounters it will tear through with thousands of micro-energetyc explosions that essentially help it to dig through vessels, their armor and bulkheads like they're made of fragging playdough! Now you might be wondering "Okay, big whoop, you poke holes better..." this is where what is truly terrifying about this weapon comes into play, for, you'll remember with Mjolnir armor it needs a power source to do what it does, and a significant one at that, and if this round is purely made of this off brand Mjolnir armor, how does it get the power to do what it does? Well, dear reader, it is not made purely from Mjolnir armor, oh, no, no... at its center, is a powerful, miniaturized, weaponized and rather unstable star. That's right, at the center of every one of these deadly rounds is a fractionally tiny star that leaves the round superpowered to do what it does, and, when it reaches an either pre-programmed spot from the Naz'Ziam ships targeting computers or a critical mass juncture, the cradle field at the core of this sphere deactivates and the star is unleashed, explosively.
    Supercharged Mjolnir is jettisoned at super extreme velocity in every direction, shredding everything in its path for a long ways, sometimes consuming whole decks of the affected ship, but wait, the worst is yet to come, for as this miniature star is unleashed, its gravity field comes into affect and now begins to pull in what is now a lot of very loose debris from the internal structure of the ship that was just gutted with its second birth into the universe. So the affected ship just had a hole punched in it, then an internal explosion of no insignificant size, and now it seems to be slightly... imploding?
    Now, you might be forgiven for thinking, surely this wild ride is nearing its end? Surely this is the worst of it... Well, not so far, because this ship still has a second birthed star inside of it, and, as you may recall, I mentioned these things were kinda volatile. While inside the cradle field carefully and painstakingly established upon the construction of every single one of these rounds, these stars will remain stable, despite their natural instability, for a very, very long time. In fact, there has yet to be one single recorded case (emphasis on the word 'recorded') where one of these rounds went critical before being purposefully fired, however, in every instance when that cradle field is dropped, the star inside always has a bit of a temper tantrum, and ladies and gents, there is one final stage to this tantrum.
    For you see, as the stars new found freedom results in a gravity field establishing itself inside this ship it starts to pull in all the loose debris it made upon that second birth and as it does so, it grows more and more violently unstable, its gravity field grows more and more powerful and, eventually, it will reached its final stage, simply known "Critical Mass" or, as described in one other word "Death."
    Once it hits critical mass the star goes supernova and, in all recorded cases, will vaporize everything within 1.7 kilometers, sometimes up to 3.2. These Super Nova's tend to vary in size and is the one variable with these rounds, you never do quite know for certain what the blast radius will be for certain, so you need to be careful unless you are completely clear of the 3.2 kilometers.
    Well, ladies and gents, I hope you enjoyed this, if so, please let me know! Thinking about making a video on this in a BPL Tex style, if I could manage it, that man's voice does have charm.
    Have a good day everyone!

    • @Arendelft
      @Arendelft 2 роки тому

      TLDR: Imagine a fly buzzing around your room that, upon your attempts to swat it, dodged you at every turn, upon a successful strike, obliterated your fly swatter in some strange, counter explosion. Then imagine the fly shoots you with a BB, a freaking BB that somehow punches through and into you and then unleashes a tiny star inside of you that goes supernova. This is the summation of the Naz'Ziam class and why it was just so fragging terrifying to even capitol grade ships.
      PS: It was also an incredibly rare site in the galaxy due to an incredibly limited production run. Less then twenty thousand of them were every full constructed and deployed and the materials to make more would have only made just under one hundred thousand even had they been successfully shipped to their destinations. As such, while this is a terrifyingly mastercrafted vessel for many reasons, it was also stupidly rare, and the people who could successfully crew and utilize these vessels to their maximum potential equally so.

One is a flying wing design and the other is more typical shaped but with a bit of weapon spam which I hate but I feel like I spread out the weapons and types decent amount. When you reduce the Ork boss ship to literal scrap and single blocks before it even gets to you, you know you have enough firepower. But both ships are honestly shit designs once you look inside.
