- Okay, it's the Revelation, so there is not much new stuff to talk about. Except there is!
You see, this is not just a retrofitted version of the ship. This is a completely new build
that uses the old exterior design. The inside and layout has changed completely.
But it keeps all the stuff you liked from the old ship.
To control the ship, you will need to use the remote control block either from the seat on
the bridge or from the seat in the CORE room.
The engines are still tiltable and can still be operated while moving. They are a new
configuration that gives more power at the same space requirement. That meant that I had
a lot more mass to play with when building the ship.
As you might expect, that lead to the ship being considerably heavier, than the old one.
The maximum recommended mass jumped up to 65,000,000.00kg.
But all this new mass didn't get wasted of course.

Only in space engineers can someone build a ship that you need a manual in order to fly. This ship is a masterpiece.
You'd need a manual just to figure out where anything is.

damn that tilt engine system is completely unique iv never seen anything like it in SE
Exactly, it's not as if you require all thrusters in all directions firing all at the same time. Really cuts down on space and weight, which while not exactly an issue in game would sure as hell be advantageous in reality.
im like 80% sure the tilt engine is for landing, i think most of the thrusters were pointing down so it could fight gravity with limited thrust for other directions, but when he used the tilt it shifted them to point in mutable directions. my reasoning being that is how i would do it, and that after changing the tilt he was accelerating and decelerating faster then before.

Ev3rM0r3 It’s original enough because someone spent probably months on this project. The end result is an inspirational carrier. Why do you have to diss it so much?
I like how Aaron said "can we have a bit more light here please" like a pissy director but he's also the lighting guy.
There was more impressive interior that was missed in this video sadly, at the front part bottom of the ship there's a huge lounging area with a med-bay and a huge map of the ship.
Thanks for noticing that! But to show the entire ship would require a detailed tour. That would take too long for a showcase video I guess. :/

I love carriers. I just hope for the day I can see an entire fleet together in space engineers. Now that would be cool

I saw this ship earlier in the week. He's right in saying its amazing. The Tilt Thrusters is to change it from space flight to atmospheric flight. As you enter a planets atmosphere you tilt the trusters so it doesnt crash and burn. Yes its all ion thrusters which makes it even more of an achievement

Imagine getting it on official. You will be automatically targeted by the entire server. It would also immediately explode due to the amount of interior thrusters.
I can hear your computer cooling fans screaming and your graphics card weeping in agony as you show us around this thing.
(Not literally, just dayum is that thing huge and detailed)
Outstanding design and with a place for future modular expansion. I would add another ship connecting to in the middle of it in a cross like manner. Coolest hing about it is its procedural disembodiement as the battle moves on.
This gave me an idea to model a ship with completely rotating insides. Salutations to whoever made this.

Absolutely marvelous. I don't expect to see anything more impressive than that in SE.
so, looking at the quick view we got, the tilt engine system seems to transfer the majority of engine power to different directions. Before you activated it, it seemed to be in "planet mode" where the majority of the thruster system was pointing downwards, after hitting tilt, it changed the orientation of the engines to the longitudinal axis, giving you more forward and reverse thrust, likely the "space mode"
Finally something that needs more ram to run than Chrome

That's exactly what I thought when I saw the thumbnail! What I don't like is the big hollow part in the middle. Seems really easy to cut the ship in half if you concentrate your firepower there.

@@Locomotor1979 Huh, you might be right. I've honestly never even seen a capital ship in person, much less flown one. Tend to keep to small wormhole groups.
Although, I've been trying to introduce my current corp to the glory that is the carrier, so we'll see. If nothing else, that'd be useful if someone tries to set up shop in our hole.

@@Locomotor1979 Mostly in wormholes and a bit of factional warfare, actually. And yeah, Clear Skies is awesome, been loving it for years. I tear up every time in the third one. You know the scene. Glad to hear he's working on a sequel.
2:14 Those are Gravity generators. Their purpose is to deflect or repel incoming Gravity missiles.

If your ship does it's job well and would do it worse if it was bigger, then it is the correct size it needs to be.
There will always be a place for small vessels!

I'm building ships for a while now. Small to big, sometimes even gigantic but nothing I built so far comes close to this level of detail. Very impressive ship design.
This looks exactly like a drawing I made back in middle school, down to the white plates, the larger front section, and the fact it's a carrier.

why cant space engineers be a single universe server capable of housing 1000's of players at once with all the best mods that have been released so far

There is a thing called computer components, they cost a lotta $$$ and cost even more $$$ to maintain and provide power,
Also since its 2022 at the time of writing this, we dont have magical 20G internet capable of transmiting Terabytes in miliseconds, the lag would be so bad, you could not get into the server most likely
@@matthrew Not only that, if you put 40 of these on the same server at the same time, there would suddenly be a huge mushroom cloud where the server datacenter used to be. Then WWIII would kick off irl as everyone thought someone else pushed the proverbial "red button".

I wanted to see him land that monster and maneuver on the wheels. That would've been hilarious to see fall off a monstrous cliff!
Sadly the wheels are only the static ones. It can't drive around on them.
In my testing these wheels were more reliable than normal blocks for landings. Other blocks would just phase through the terrain. These wheels do that too, but not as often I find. Could be wrong though.

@@nathanmccabe1850 To be fair, the ship would probably fall over as soon as you even think about doing corners. XD High center of mass and narrow wheelbase and stuff...
Edit: It wouldn't even be the heaviest thing I have driven around on planets.

But that one was just too big for the game. But would have carried 100+ fighters and even 2 frigates...
That thing had the driven wheels for landing gears.
This seems like a better station than a ship, it's still one of the best looking ship I've seen though

More like the other way around, since I have built this ship almost three years ago already.
But there are certainly some similarities.

I can't help but think that this is heavily based on the Caldari Wyvern Supercarrier from EVE Online. I've seen a few, and flown with a few, of these in New Eden. :)

That looks like a colony ship.
Parking one of these in orbit of the plane server could be a really fun event. Maybe the bois need to make an orbital gun to take it down, work together against a common enemy as this thing sends waves of attack ships. Then again lag will be a huge issue so idk
this seems like the making of a very good human design
The dridge looks so easy to shoot off. That is one thing I wish more people would take more seriously about when it comes down to putting a bridge on top of a ship and making it an exterior bridge. Most ship builders will do this in the space engineers community. If your going to make an exposed bridge at least make it look connected to the ship. And also I get it looks good but I have experimented with different types of bridge styles and making that part of the ship more armored.
Exterior bridges are difficult for this because they must look aestheticly pleasing with the rest of the ships anesthetics in mind. You can still achieve armering it and making it look good but its also harder but it is achievable. At least make it harder to be scraped off. I do like the concept of this ship though. If I was the creator of it, just like ever creator is about there design. I would be proud of it anyways no matter its flaws.
That is why I added heavier armor over the bridge on the ISP Fenrir. I tested the ram on the front after making it stronger and some stray debris destroyed half of the roof of the bridge as well as the helm itself which is when I realized that this combat destroyer didn't even have a backup bridge
If only the computers could handle what this game is actually capable of.

The hanger in the center looks like a structural nightmare, the connections between the front and rear look like weak spots, similar to the EF77 nebulon from star wars but to a much lesser degree obviously. But this seems more like a dedicated carrier more than anything else. It seems like it is more suited in a support role.

Designing a ship like this had to take at least 4 months. i put together a pure function solo survival carrier for toys. I made it nice with good systems etc but no frills and it took a month.

Wow, that's amazing. It would be incredible to see a ship like this fully staffed and loaded with fighters, going up against an enemy fleet. Unfortunately, that will never happen, because everybody wants to build and fly their own ships. Maybe drone fighters will be a realistic option someday...
I mean if you give them this ship (fully supplied) and said that making their own ships is illegal/banned then it'd work. Would it be annoying and monotonous? Maybe, maybe not
It is an assault carrier. It doesn't go against any fleet. It is used for planetary landings.
this might be a remake because ive had a Revelation fleet carrier that is similar but it is also very different on the inside for a couple years, as i remember captain jack doing a video of it ages ago, but it could just be an updated version as i cant remember who made the blueprint i have
Yep it is a remake of the old one. Both blueprints should be made by me.
The old one was just too bad in terms of everything it could do.
I just had to redo it.

Ive created a couple of cool simple ships but my favorite was the battle ship is a mix between the missoury and a spaceship i called it the griffin😁😁😁😁😁i also made a couple of air units from supreme commander 2 that i can fly on my own🥰🥰

I dont play space engineers myself, but isnt that exposed glass brigde an extremely weak spot compared to the rest? theres thick armour, decoys, self repairing engines but the brains of the ship is behind a panel of glass
but it looks cool
if and only if you can get past all the corvettes, destroyers and carriers guarding this battleship and you get a good shot on that bridge, you get to have some credit on being an absolute chad on bringing down this ship for maybe 2 mins. this ship could have like 15 medical rooms available to revive from
@@owholypwner3548 Good summary. Yes the bridge may be vulnerable, but this ship is not meant to operate on its own.
Not quite 15 medical rooms though, only 4 of them. :D
Also there is another cockpit from where you can use the remote control to operate the ship. The open bridge at the back could only be used if you are flying in safe space.

@@johndoll4774 Mostly to get the desired shape that I imagined, to be fair. Yes, the large armor panels are heavy and may never be needed, but I wanted the ship to have them to give it some character I guess.
I also dislike it, when the walls on the inside of the ship are in the same colour that the armor is. I like it, when the room has consistant colouring. Therefor I need two layers of armor at the minimum.
And on this version of the ship the armor panels were supposed to be held on by rotors so you could easily replace them, if they were damaged. But in the end I disregarded that Idea to save some game performance.
Edit: Again, there is also a second cockpit to operate the ship from, that is located in a more central spot. So more armor gives the ship more durability, if you are steering from there.
Hey we heard you like carriers so we put a carrier in your carrier so you can deploy fighters while you deploy fighters and deploy small corvettes

@@Metalwing66 True. At least if we speak about SF Fleet Carriers. Problem is that many people miss the point of Carrier. Ships with own FTL capabilities don't need a Carrier. Frigate or Corvette carriers are even dumber then Battlecarriers. It make sense only in case of Gunboats. Though in space most ships have some level of Carrier capabilities, so that itself wasn't questioned. Especially in case of relatively small Drone Carriers.
Are you using some mods? If yes which are they? Unless you are using some tricks to make "blocks" that do not exist in the base game. Just wondering.
Are you talking about the blue blocks for the hangar shields? They are not modded. They are made using the projector block that is in vanilla SE.
They are only there for looks. They are not airtight or anything.

What are the hanger doors made of?
They are a projection of a different grid.
But they are only there to make it seem like the Hangar has some sort of shielding in front of it.
It's not a mod, so they don't protect from anything.

But I look at the Thrusters being packed and basically, this ship is useless if block damage is active? Because the thrusters would destroy themsleves, being so close together
Nope, they are all properly spaced to not blow each other up. I built the ship with thrusterdamage on and nothing blew up. Even the holes in the hull with the blast doors are in the right spot to let the exhaust out and not get damaged.
But I can see why people would think that. There are a lot of thrusters close to each other. :D

Potatoe computer owner here, why would a build like this lag a lot? There doesn't seems to be relatively lot of moving parts, so size aside, I don't understand why there are performances issues
Besides the enormous size all the stuff used to fill out that size adds up like the multi directional conveyors put stress on the system as well as the lights Turrets all moving around looking for targets each of these can take up a chunk of processing power. The merge blocks with the directional engines also might cause some stress too but I am not as sure of that. I believe that merge blocks can cause issues because of how they work with linking and unlinking objects.
As long as this grid is set to be a station it is actually not that bad, performance wise.
When it is a ship, but stationary, it is definately worse.
But it gets even worse, as soon as you start moving. Seems like moving grids are even more demanding on the game than stationary ones.
And at last the performance goes away to hide in a deep dark hole, once you get near a piece of voxels. Asteroids and planetary surfaces seem to worsen the performance, when you get near them. Probably the game only starts to load them when you are near to prepare for collisions or something.

If anyone would be mad enough to build one in survival mode is a different question.

@@necromusairiousnocturnaal6811 It had something like that at one point. But it wouldn't work on planets, so I threw the idea out the airlock.
Edit: I am painfully aware, that it doesn't really turn very well, but I didn't want to throw even more gyros at it. :/
Well ill build it in survival and toy with it a bit, only said she would come apart due to thruster placement when damage is enabled maybe i saw that wrong, still its a beautiful ship
