I would love to see a multiplayer carrier battle, where two teams are allowed one big ship carrier and all their other craft have to be small ship drones.
Honestly the coolest thing I’ve seen in SE. I have literally no idea how someone would even begin to start designing something like this. I always find I start with densely packing the essentials in the middle with some basic walkways and then piping outwards for guns and hydro. The fact he’s meticulously planned all of this out is mind boggling. I honestly don’t want to think about how many time he deleted and redesigned entire chunks of the ship to fit with it and then scrapped it all again because it didn’t quite fit. Do you ever pick the brains of the creators about their creative process? Only downside I could say is I can’t actually think of a situation where you’d want to build it! Lots of crew required which is a lagfest and drones can be taken down pretty quickly and the ship would go down pretty hard soon after.
I made something pretty much like this in starmade so I love it! It was a carrier that relied on drones, had a run way that functioned as offset armor. Also had off set armor around the hole thing to reduce damage from explosions to main hull and to reduce weight. Id just roll in on the enemy..drop the drones, get out, hop in a fighter stored on the flight deck to engage enemies while keeping the main carrier back. Id just keep coming back for more fighters as they got dmg. Could also drop the main auto turrets in battle to if needed. Was the most effective ship i had built in the game. Was a bit hard to manage though..you had to manually dock everything and they'd bug out every now and agian. Can't wait to get a pc (mine died) and get this game, gonna make something similar to this and the starmade one I designed.
just wanna say, i appreciate the accurate wingtip lighting for the drones- green right, left red, white tail. as a pilot, its just very aesthetically pleasing to me to see that detail in flying vehicles.
I think, to stop hydrogen man, the ship would need a dense point defense grid, that is not present in this built. I dont see a way for hydrogen man, if each and every point can only be reached by passing the firing arc of at least 3 interior turrets.
I have seen many videos, but I haven't played SE. As such I don't know what actually makes practical ships in combat and utility, but after seeing the tour of this ship I find myself in awe. I love how they made the design of the interior. The lighting, the placement of objects, the structure, it all appeals to me. The bridge feels serious and, like said in the video, intimidating. I love the setup of the main command chair, allowing one to see damage to the ship as well as have the needed data within sight. The engine room looked efficient and practical for repairs (and looks great with the red low-light illumination). The crew-quarters are a bit small but not entirely unexpected on a military ship; yet the design of the surrounding walls and hallways make a nice contrast to the large open spaces of the rest of the carrier. The hanger is spacious but not over enlarged and the various lights letting crew know when certain machinery are running is a nice touch. With all that said, there are a few flaws I can see; namely the dorsal and ventral sections. Like mentioned in the video, the dorsal hanger bays are naturally a weak point. If a ship/s managed to catch it from above in constant fire I fear the ship would be cut in two pieces; the same could be said about the ventral side. With so little point-defense turrets on any side of the ship I feel like the Captain would have to rely quite a bit on the fleet to defend it. Even with all that said, this is all just the observations from a non-SE player. Anything I said could be very wrong since I have no first-hand experience. Regardless, this carrier is very pleasing to look at; you did a very good job giving us a tour. My thanks to all who read this far.

This is one of the best looking and functioning ships I've seen. Totally love it I'd say the only thing i would change I'd add large turrets and missile launchers to it.
Yeah the idea of having a carrier purely for carrying drones to be controlled from a main command center is an interesting concept. Aesthetically speaking the ship is absolutely beautiful, and I think it would function quite well in a survival setting. That being said, the drone control area is kinda vulnerable to attack if an enemy was able to figure out that that's what it is and hit it in just the right spot with a couple missiles.
This is the all around best ship I’ve ever seen, not just accessible and efficient, playable and good for RP and Pvp, but it looks so simple and good looking until you see just how impressive its utility is. Bravo 👏 👏
12:55 "Well, that's it, then--bring the ship back up to combat alert: alpha. I want everyone at their stations." "Everyone, sir?" "Everyone." _Unseal the Hushed Casket_
Dedicated Strike Carriers imo are underused in multiplayer. The ability to jump your faction's fighters to an enemy station/base is big. Plop your carrier far out of engagement range and let the fighters attack the base and take it, saving faction resources and time whilst also allowing your fighters to operate with less fuel constraints. A well thought out Strike Carrier can be a huge threat to any faction if designed and used properly!
Very true but my thinking is probably because of lag. It's unfortunate that space engineers is still so unstable. This could take gameplay to such a higher level than it is already but agree with you 100%.
This ship looks absolutely amazing. I love the details and thought that went into the different sections. The colors seem to work well and the shapes made by the shaped armor look very much like a possible space vessel. Functionality seems like it would tick all the main boxes and could benefit from some small upgrades. E.g. a few more turrets to protect the bridge area from ramming, extending the front top armor to cover more of the deck, adding a second hangar door to cover the top hangar. Adding a few ion engines just in case you run out of hydrogen or it gets blown up would probably help out too. The underside could probably be made a lot more robust with some armor that has embedded turrets. The drones themselves would probably benefit from a spinal missile launcher for additional punch against larger ships and a couple of the guns looked like they'd be hitting the drone's own underside armor, so possibly those would need moving. Overall a great ship, and I'd be interested to see how well she actually fares in combat. I bet it'd be really fun to get a bunch of people together and try to fly her.
I really, really appreciate the detail and thought put into this design. It is not only incredibly well detailed, the use of the green hull shading is both a bold move and makes sense. A similar shade of colour is used in Russian fighter jet cockpits. It lights up the inside of the cockpit in low light conditions and contrasts with the black controls and instruments, but it also doesn't reflect too much light, which could potentially blind the pilot. It does make sense to colour a spaceship this way to make EVA work easier! Overall, mad kudos from Doctor Budgie.
It needs gravity generators so that those welder vehicles don't suffer from that little issue you found near the end of the video. That's the very first thought that actually stuck in my mind about this ship design.
Hypercarrier: mobile docking and manufacturing platform to resupply a carrier fleet between engagements. Manufactures and processes ammo and components for distribution to docking carriers. Mining shops dock to offload ore, hypercarrier processes into needed components. Logistics mothership frame to sync up thruster usage. Credit me for inspiration if the reader builds, I can’t run this game.
Marrqi7 wini was meaning to also taxi the ships around on its own fuel. A frame to carry and deploy the carriers, not to enclose them entirely in the hull like mothership implies.
the only thing that sucks is that current space engineers combat is so shitty that we cant use these massive ships in cohesive continual combat which is truly quite shameful

not being able to rebuild drones in space seems to be a bit of a fubar, however plenty of easy enough options available to fix that. Overall a great ship if fully crewed ;)

Anyway that's just my Opinion. Great video Aaron. Keep it up!
This isn't a ship but I work of freaking art!! An extremely functional work of art yet which is even better. Only negative here is realizing I suck at shipbuilding lol. :b

The only change that I'd make is drones with more unilateral movement but that's mostly preference on my part; the kind of control that this ship has is already more than can be asked for.
The thing looks great, but seems quite vulnerable from the front, back and top. I'd say a single fighter with some heavy ordnance could take the thing out
The welding ships had artificial mass so they wouldn’t fly around too much, also I really like the ship, would only add more guns and more access paths to various inner components of the ship
Please showcase my ship lol The Ron Don Johnson Experimental Propulsion.... it will accelerate as fast as possible regardless of mass I dont think ive seen you show a ship with the same propulsion mechanism
Using this ship design as a basic concept to be upgraded. I would consider expanding on the armor plates with some diaganal sections on rotors for an almost Star Destroyer wedge to it in some places and with some armor plates on pistions to move out around the ship like a blowfish to protect the main hull, using pistion and rotors cargo conections so each of the armor plates have cannons and small protected hidden hydrogen thrusters. Also try to compact some areas inside the main hull like the bridge to try and prevent air breach.
I don’t play SE. However I’d replace those wheel based repair vehicles with something more universal, if the game has it. Anything with a combination of extreme gripping, magnetic plates, grappling chains, and thrusters. I’m thinking something that’s capable of repairing fighter craft and the ship itself. I imagine this ship would fight at long ranges, so having an impromptu repair system would be extremely valuable if they need to maintain functionality or maneuverability.
Ship looks absolutely fantastic, but hardly functional for multiplayer purposes ;) We all know well that the most efficient grid is a brick ;) No one fights with beautiful ships, unless it's creative mode or it doesn't hurt to lose tons of material or time sacrificed for welding :P Also kinda too many rotors and pistons as for SE DS standards ;)
@@TheRezro Therefore not functional as there is no really a role for carrier on multi servers, unless server is somehow designed in some special way to make it valid to have a group of ppl piloting rather mediocre useful but huge ship instead of couple of rocket launchers packed bricks ;)
just wait till the US builds ten drone carriers about twice as big. then decides it doesn't have enough electricity, and build 10 new ones that are barely larger.
Russian language is very easy. Look: Admiral - it's just Admiral... Kuznets - a Smith... "ov" ending means genetiv / possesion. Kuznetsov - surname. Means "Family of smith's. We can see same in German: "Von Schmidt" - "von" means genetive. Also surname in Russia has gender endings. KuznetsOV - for man. KuznetsOVA - for women. And KusnetsovЫ (Ы - there is no such sound in English, its close to "ee" but not "ee") - plural form. It's easy :)
Considering that ship was made for looks (those rotors scream "Klang"!), I don't think that spaced armor is intentional (some parts would fall off too easily). But probably coincidentally he make it in quite decent way even if it was statistical choice. Most people sadly don't understand how to save mass properly. Lack of even emergency Ions is huge flaw. Weapons are almost not existing (yes, I know it is carrier, but even here few more PDC's should be there). Ship is also excessively overpowered regard engine power (why it need to be atmospheric capable?), what contradict point of this ship class. Also direct access to reactor is huge flaw in any ship class. Even those not oriented on combat. Despite noticeable size it lack fighter hard point, still it is rare case of ship actually be worthy to be considered as Fleet Carrier (I personally consider as Drone Carriers small space ops ships, what can't transport anything beside those. When this one definitely could take whole guild). If only it would use space more efficiently! Also welding system is super inefficient, at best I would consider it as repairing. Bridge needlessly exposed not providing too much visibility at the same time. Props for multiple access to hangar, even if it is still needlessly exposed. Still in long run quite decent ship considering SE lack of standard 8/10
I think if it had a bunch of turrets on it it would be super functional on its own, but the way it is right now I’d expect that it would need an escort from a cruiser type ship to protect it
These ships are great, although in reality at least in my experience that I have only played this since last November you only find space shoe boxes, I have not seen a ship worth mentioning in this time on nimgum server haha
The ship is ’kuznetsov’ a reference to the russian federation’s only aircraft carrier currently in service. Kuznetzov is a common russian last name. Kuznetz meaning smith. It’s ’the smithson’ roughly
Can you take a look at "Avorion"? It's similar to space enginneers, no 1st person, but much much much more awesome builds are possible and ship building is just a tiny part of the game overall, it's a massive strategy, completely soloplayer or online, with an almost endless galaxyto explore, ability to build an gigantic empire, have carriers and fleets and miners and salvagers and stations, defense platforms, treansport roots for goods, refineries, docks etc etc, all for AI and the player. It's the best building game that I've ever played and an absolute underdog at steam, although it's just starting to become more and more popular. What it lacks most is content creators, guides, build showcases etc
To be honest this is the most aesthetically pleasing ship I've ever seen in SE. It's also super functional, amazing!

The thing looks great, but seems quite vulnerable from the front, back and top. I'd say a single fighter with some heavy ordnance could take the thing out
Honestly don't usually like block style ships but this one looks the part it's blocky but with style :O
The welding ships had artificial mass so they wouldn’t fly around too much, also I really like the ship, would only add more guns and more access paths to various inner components of the ship
Would be great use for the green drone army
when ever i try building a big ship it just ends up looking like its from mine craft
Please showcase my ship lol The Ron Don Johnson Experimental Propulsion.... it will accelerate as fast as possible regardless of mass I dont think ive seen you show a ship with the same propulsion mechanism
you have a vid of it?????? id like to see it
The bridge gave me a star wars theme
Using this ship design as a basic concept to be upgraded. I would consider expanding on the armor plates with some diaganal sections on rotors for an almost Star Destroyer wedge to it in some places and with some armor plates on pistions to move out around the ship like a blowfish to protect the main hull, using pistion and rotors cargo conections so each of the armor plates have cannons and small protected hidden hydrogen thrusters. Also try to compact some areas inside the main hull like the bridge to try and prevent air breach.
Why you need a canons on Carrier?
@@TheRezro just in case

looking great :-)
I don’t play SE.
Joshua Camacho those welder trucks had artificial mass blocks in the toolbar. Aaron didn’t see them.
Wesley Quarles I’m assuming those artificial mass blocks could repair both the ship and the fighter craft. Correct?
@@JoshuaCamacho09 Well, mass blocks can't. I'm just saying that the rovers were at least functional. I agree that a ship would be better for repairs.
Awesome build , love it!
you shold get an army of viewers and use this in a war scenario
Have been watching your vids for years, finally got a pc and got the game, and im hooked
Ship looks absolutely fantastic, but hardly functional for multiplayer purposes ;) We all know well that the most efficient grid is a brick ;) No one fights with beautiful ships, unless it's creative mode or it doesn't hurt to lose tons of material or time sacrificed for welding :P
Also kinda too many rotors and pistons as for SE DS standards ;)
It is a Carrier, it isn't for fighting.
@@TheRezro Therefore not functional as there is no really a role for carrier on multi servers, unless server is somehow designed in some special way to make it valid to have a group of ppl piloting rather mediocre useful but huge ship instead of couple of rocket launchers packed bricks ;)
@@Lesminster True. There are exceptions, but usually it is pointless.
The alarm... first time I heard it, it was in Total Annihilation
just wait till the US builds ten drone carriers about twice as big. then decides it doesn't have enough electricity, and build 10 new ones that are barely larger.
I had the papers please music playing in my head the whole time 😂
Russian language is very easy. Look:
Admiral - it's just Admiral...
Amazing as always!
I think if it had a bunch of turrets on it it would be super functional on its own, but the way it is right now I’d expect that it would need an escort from a cruiser type ship to protect it
You should use it on one of your Servers, but i would change the welders from rovers to drones
looks good but there is a weak spot in its PD coverage at the rear of the ship and the prow.

cool vid me and my wife battled two of these the other day.
Nice ship, too bad it will never be crewed and it will never see the combat it was designed for.
I think it is a beautiful ship but lacks in drone variety. If an enemy finds one weak spot they can take all the drones out quickly.
Problem with this is that SE can't even handle the number of players needed to crew this thing realistically.
That fighter is based on the fictional Mig-31 "Firefox" from the movie of the same name.
Have dual welderbays for atmo vs space fighters. Ship is great got me back onto SE for the first time in a few months
Опа какие флаги, из России привет!
The ship hologram in the contol room causes the frame drop just switch it off and u will be fine
It appears to be missing billowing clouds of thick, black smoke.
Always get a laugh from the subtitles here from Aaron's intro.
'Hello there and as usual lime air from my stank gamers'
Awesome lmao
Could make for a good setting for some simulated boarding encounters.
