the announcer is a day late.. he insinuated or implied that the Greeks started to do well at the last anchor. thats incorrect. the Greeks were leading the entire race..from the first hand off. The Belgians were never in the lead.

The #3 leg did that to me at the state championship my sophomore year. We always went by sight when my incoming teammate hit the mark but in the state finals, this fool took off when other incoming teams yelled "Go, stick!" and he left 5-10 meters before I got to his mark.

France would have won it HAD HE JUST FULLY CONCENTRATED ON CROSSING THE TAPE rather than turning his head to look at the Italian runner ! Thats what happens when you decide to get into some shenanigans before the tape - you lose speed, time and ultimately the race !!!

Dunno what race the commentators were watching. Mateo for Fr had a great last 100m not even sure a last-gasp dip on the line would have secured gold. Bloke was in 4th position 4-5meters behind the leaders at the start of his leg, cant ask for much more.
You can ask him to "keep his head straight"... he isn't marching in the "Red Army" with the sideways move.

@@spongeboy7744 That's good for him but that doesn't change the fact he could've gotten first. I never said it was direspect but it was sure as hell a cocky ass thing to do with a finish so close. Just go old school and time your dip perfectly to win your team the gold medal. That look may have only been one second but that silver medal is for life. At least we agree he should've focused on his race.

This is the ugliest overall 4 x 100m that I have ever seen. 2 dropped batons (Netherlands and Belgium), 1 team flopping on the infield with pulled muscle (Finland), and 1 team pimping (unsuccessfully) at the line (France).
