I decided to head down to North Carolina and purchase a 2016 Lance 975 Truck Camper. I traded my Palomino HS 6601 which didn't fit my 2016 Dodge Ram 3500. I really enjoyed the Palomino and would have held on to it for years to come, but wanted something that fit my truck much better. While at D&H RV center, I walked around a few other models to include a Palomino HS-2902, Host Yukon 11.6, a Northern Lite Truck Camper, and a Eagle Cap model. Looking forward to my adventures in 2021 in my new 4 seasons truck camper!!!

I don't know a lot about truck campers - why wouldn't the Palomino slide all the way forward?
It was for a short bed truck. And mine is long bed
don't ever do what he did - putting a short bed camper on a long bed truck puts the center of gravity too far rearward, making for an unstable situation. the most important thing to do is match the right truck to the right sized camper.

Why not take the rear side panels off the Palomino camper as it is made for a 6.5 and an 8ft bed? Then you could have slid it all the way forward in the bed. You must really have wanted that Lance LOL.. BTW both are good campers ..Lance... better quality for sure though.. I have a Palomino HS-6601.
Considered that but with the sewage down spout it wouldn't have done me any good.

New subscriber here- seems like the Palomino is very inferior to Lance and most other brands. Agree?
Palaminos are inferior, and their price dictates that. Imo the Lance is inferior to the Host. You can actually get a washer and dryer in a host.
Money Money money. Each has its benefits. Palomino is a lower cost brand. And it did perfectly fine for me on all my trips. I only got rid of it for one that had more room and fit my truck better. Otherwise I would still have it. It was paid off.
