They are not letting Americans in
I do like your videos but to be honest I would have preferred listening to you guys talk about the food your eating while you are eating it instead of a voice over though fun video all the same.
Great to have another Those Two Brit video. It was so posh and looked enjoyable. I do love hearing the history of the Hotel.
At first I thought Joel was going to wear his sleeveless gymshark t to the poshest tea in Brighton. 🤣 Crisis averted.
That would be great! I should've!
I would love to have seen more of the hotel.
How fun was this! Almost reminds me of the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island in Michigan. Makes me want to go to Brighton! Thanks.
I thought the exact same thing!
John Ley - Now that you mentioned that in your comment, your right it does remind me of it too. Except it’s on a really large lake and everyone has an American accent lol 😂.
I've been watching Joel and Lia for years, and only just realized you had this second channel. All the same feelings, but less of the .....silliness. But this had just enough silliness. I had tea in Victoria Canada a long time ago. It looked like you had a nice afternoon.
Brighton is just so British to me, it’s featured frequently in two British shows I watch - A Place in the Sun and Poirot.
YES to Thai Massage! It is like magic! Something about they way they move your limbs around made me feel so energized and alive all over, and I love that they keep you partially covered throughout. Nice for modesty, but also otherwise I get chilly! lol!
Afternoon tea + Thai massage may be my new favorite treat! ; - )
Oh my goodness-those sweets look delicious!!
Love seeing my two favorite Brits have a nice tea by the sea. And can I just say, What. a beautiful hotel. So historic and sooo British! Love that you got a couple's massage as well. Living your best lives! And Joel, I'm sure since she was a viewer, the masseuse probably loved all your wobbly bits lol. What a posh holiday with the best UA-camrs on the platform! Love you both!
Joel sounds like he’s commenting during an episode of lifestyles of the rich and famous in this one.
hahaha!
That's exactly what I thought. Champagne wishes and caviar dreams - courtesy Joel and Lia!
I love Brighton the sunny days are the best
I lived in Brighton for 5 years and never been in this hotel and have afternoon tea, I will go there next time I vist Brighton!!! Good video!
I have stayed in Grand before in Brighton, and it is actually a really nice place. I definitely recommend it to people visiting Brighton in the near future.
Thanks for the tips!
Those teapots! How lovely! I didn't know about savory and sweet items. And they really cut the crust off the bread.🤭 I don't know why that makes me smile so much. 😊😊
I didn't realize that Brighton was such a big city. That price sounds extremely reasonable compared to some of the tea rooms in London that are 100$ and up.
Absolutely!
Joel, we love you and your wobbly bits!
I live here and is great by the sea, glad you liked Brighton and the Grand looks incredible xx
Ohh! those tea sandwiches look like the real thing! I'm so hungry now!!
Did you need to book in advcance to have seats by the window in the Victoria room?
It's really cool that you did close-ups on every dish you had: we could see the texture and appreciate how moist the scones look.... wow.
If I ever go to Brighton again, I'll definitely go and have that. 29 pounds is much cheaper than I had imagined this to be. I thought it'd be closer to 100 pounds.
Thanx guys, awesome vlog. I'm a Tik Tok'er, looking at the comments are serious vibe. Everyone's grammar so perfect, punctuation, ... just funny. I'm in the OC, Cali and I wish we were more proper, but I enjoy wearing a Versace shirt and flip flops (sandles), grabbing a bite @ Tommy Bahamas. Cheers!
Been waiting for ever for a new video!
So happy you're back! 🙌
Love this!! Looks like so much fun.
I know this is those two breaths but this felt like an OG Joel and Leah video. Absolutely loved it. Thank you guys.
I just love these videos. I’ll never get to travel to England so I get to travel vicariously through you guys. I started loving everything England when I was 9 years old and read Pride and Prejudice for the first time. I’ve been fascinated ever since. Thank you for sharing your fun with us!
Catching up on videos! That afternoon tea looked amazing! I can’t wait to go back to the UK so I can try afternoon tea for the first time. Thanks for sharing your trip!
Omg. I want to try a traditional afternoon tea so badly. Thanks for taking us along. I'm here for it!! 💗
Just an adorable video, and informative, too!
Love this format!
It’s absolutely gorgeous!
That food looks incredible!
My God! You two live the best lives. The tea looked so delicious! ❤❤❤
When I saw this, I couldn’t wait to watch ! I’ve always wanted to go to Briton and you actually went to the hotel for tea that I want to stay at. So much beauty and history. A really great video 👍🙌❤️
Those scones looked amazing! Definitely on my list now for afternoon tea bucket list.
Ooh that looks lovely! Must add Brighton to my itinerary when I make it across the pond! So glad you enjoyed your day!
You both look so wonderful and thanks for the mini tour of the Grand Hotel. The afternoon tea looks wonderful.................................J
Thank you so much!
i love afternoon tea! been craving it too
Looks like such a nice place to spend the afternoon! Loved seeing all the food! Looks delicious!
Heyyy guys I was sooo excited for Brighton videos! Hope I can see more of you both soon
Loved seeing the Victorian Grand Afternoon Tea and hearing all about the history.
Love these videos!
enjoy watching your afternoon tea breaks take care and be safe
Great episode!
THAT was beautiful! Thank you.
Loved the history notes🙌🏾
You guys makes me wish I was there so bad!
Can't wait to visit after all this craziness goes away. Lived in Europe for 3 years while I was in the military but never had the chance to visit the British Isles.
The food looked amazing BTW 👍🏾
Enjoyable on a Sunday morning. Thank you for the brief history of the hotel. Well done🙂💜💜💜
I am sooo jealous! I cannot wait to travel again someday! The Grand Hotel looked wonderful!
Great video Joel and Lia!!! 🌟🌟 Brighton looks beautiful, keen to go there when I'm next in the UK.
I am sweet all the way! Maybe a tiny sandwich but only enough to say I had savory. That sounds affordable for what you get! 💜
Now you’re talking! This is a bargain compared to Joel's £26 spin cycle adventure! Eat up! 🍰 🍷
I definitely want to check this out if ever in Brighton 🌊
Looks delicious, especially the clotted cream.
I just had my first afternoon tea last weekend. I was so excited it was perfect, they even had clotted cream so good. It came out to $29pp and it was pretty close to this afternoon tea. I can't wait to go back!!
I just adore the two of you. You have the best personalities and you are so sweet, your parents did a great job. You always put me in a good mood, unless something is going on to upset you, then it makes me sad. Great video, I've have missed these videos since the lockdown started.
Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much!!
The tea looked delicious.
Yummy afternoon tea! A tough day- no wonder you had to have a message ha ha!
gorgeous!
Wow. What a terrific price!
Joel and Lia I like that you are able to get out and show us more of your cities and that Grand hotel was quite grand and I wish I could go there but it is very unlikely, but I did enjoy the view and the food made me hungry so am off to eat my salad lunch .
Hello, love Afternoon tea. 🧡🧡🧡
Lovely place, thank you guys for the visit! My mouth is watering, I guess I need a scone and a nice cuppa right now... 😋
Hope I get to visit there. Beautiful
I think Midsomer Mysteries filmed at The Grand in their Brighton episode "The Sword of Guillaume"
So fab!!! £32 is a good value! That’s way less than the Langham here in LA! Thai massage is amazing. Like someone doing yoga on you!! Loved the video! Well done!!
That price would be scary for people where I live in Texas. You get about 2.5 full dinners at a lot of places for the USD equivalent of 32 GBP here.
I’m so glad you guys do that for us ! I love afternoon tea💜 me and my best friend go to a place in Santa Fe called Chocolate Maven. (Pretty generic but enough for us lol). Brighton is pretty! Ugh! I need a massage so bad!
Very posh. Thanks for sharing.
That was a magnificent afternoon tea and with your government subsidy quite reasonably priced. I was surprised that they didn't have a dress code. Guess you Brits are not as stuffy as you once were.😂. It's so good that this channel is back showing great places to visit in the U.K. Wishing both of you a pleasant week.
Hi John! I hope you are well. Haven't seen you in awhile and missed my friend. Stay safe and let me know how you are. 😊 ❤🤗
@@gentlespiritjw4904 How nice to hear from you. 😊Have been worried about my California friends because of the fires. Hope they aren't near you. Take care. ❤🙏🏽🌎
I spent four weeks at the Grand in Brighton on business several year s ago. A fantastic experience.
So happy to see this channel back up and running! Though it makes me miss the UK ;(
Same!!
@@ThoseTwoBritsUK xx
Absolutely love the Grand and scones are the best. My biggest mistake was taking my sons to afternoon tea.
I had afternoon tea at Balmoral Hotel when I visited Scotland from the USA. So weird as we don't have that in the USA as I am sure you're aware.
Brighton is one of my favourite cities in the UK! I studied English there for 2 months and had only the best memories!
Can't wait to come back after when flies open for Russia!
You will be very welcome whenever you come back, Valentin...........................the ancient Englishman.
Love your channel. As an American the very idea of having afternoon tea is fascinating. Are you meant to eat all that food or does the amount of food vary by establishment?
You two just make me want to experience afternoon tea!?! Tip for your regular channel, if you ever make it to Utah the Grand America apparently has a lovely afternoon tea.
We'll keep that in mind for our eventual trip to Utah! Can't wait to do a Utah Series!
I cannot wait either, Utah is a beautiful place, especially Arches National Park and Zions National Park. Thanks for response. Love watching you two!
What a nice place! Would love to see you guys explore some English Heritage spots sometime.
I wish I could do that kind of research, yum.
haha it's a hard job, but someones got to do it ;)
hello Joel and Lia
I will add that place to my list of places to try while in the UK. Thank you.
You should!
First off, Ive been a fan of yours for so long! First time to comment though. You are both so much fun, so nice, and I always look forward to your videos (on all your channels really).
I’ve been looking forward to this so much!!! I went to England last year and one of the places I went to was Brighton. One of my favorite stops in my trip, I might just decide to live there one day!
I have to ask though (ignorant American over here), what is egg mayonnaise??? I’ve heard it a few times and, yes I know, I could probably Google it, I trust your judgement more! Thanks for the video guys. I wish I could go back now! - Heather from San Francisco, CA
How lovely😊 I am well gel, afternoon tea with a ocean view plus a massage... Heaven.🙂
I feel like every building in England is haunted AF lol. Like how do y'all sleep 😂🤪?! Super freaking pretty and I LOVE afternoon tea!!!!
Lovely couple.
Very beautiful hotel
Fun
We are hopefully 🙏 coming to UK next April. What is the best place for an American to have their first Afternoon Tea or any tea. We are from the south so we don’t generally drink hot tea. We like ours iced and sweet 🙂
Successful video lol. You two do make me want to go to the places you visit. 💕
I would love to go a lovely posh restaurant someday.
GO TO CAMDEN TEA ROOMS IN CAMDEN MARKET. I LOVE THAT PLACE SO MUCH. It's also the only tea I've had in the UK because I was only there for three days. But as an American who LOVES tea and jam and scones...do it.
I would like to know what they do with leftover items? I'm sure they toss them but it seems they give you quite a lot for just 2 people. No take away bags, right?
❤️❤️❤️
I bought a book called "Royal Teas" written by a Buckingham Chef. Could you include other recipe books on your travels?
Hot there, very cool here in south Jersey guys
I'm glad I wasn't eating or drinking anything when the price was said. I would have had cleaning up to do if I had. I would not pay that much for anything less than a full meal where I live in Texas, and a lot of times, not even then. I saw that another commenter from LA said she thought it was reasonable, but it downright scared me that you would pay that for afternoon tea. 32 GBP is better for 2 people, but it's still a bit much for my taste. It does look delicious, but that price is hard to stomach, so to speak.
What a nice place. Though I am American, I love afternoon tea. Tea is my favorite beverage. I am looking to buy a new tea set since my old one was left behind when we moved. I am one of a few Americans who HATES COFFEE. Don't you dare talk about your wobbly bits! I have eaten turkey legs bigger than you.
Love you
Hi Joel and Lia, I was just going to ask, if Joel, got weird looks or an Attitude from the Server, for Ordering Coffee? Now, I know that "Afternoon Tea, you can get either Coffee or Tea. I love both Beverages so, that would be hard to choose! It looked Delicious and the scenery was stunning! Blessings from a longtime Sub/Viewer of ALL your Channels in Oklahoma and a former SoCal Girl,
Piper
Nope it’s very normal to order coffee
Not that expensive if you book online, well worth a night there, rooms are great ( make sure you get a front room)and you get a nice breakfast
It seems like a lot of food for what seems like it's an afternoon snack? Or is it a lunch or dinner?
It's supposed to be a snack between lunch and dinner but some people replace lunch with it
I’ve seen people comment about the price and if you’re wanting to compare prices it would be £30 and not the £20 they paid :) there was a government scheme going on at the time that caused food in britain to be cheaper
I've paid close to $100 with tip in Chicago with a glass of champagne.
I really need y’all to pop over to me some scones and clotted cream 😋😍😊
LIA!!! How come you aren't holding the tea cup like a proper Brit? PINCH the handle... it's not a coffee mug. Lol, love you guys!
