Congratulations Joel & Lia on your 2022 Blogosphere award! Bought you several "ko-fis" to be exchanged into prosecco. Cheers! I would enjoy it if you spent the night in one of those lodges. Go glamping and try other outdoor experiences like canoeing, kayaking, spelunking, etc.
I toured Warwick Castle back in the late 80s, before it became so commercialized as it appears to be now. If you drove from London to Warwickshire, you also passed what's left of Sherwood forest (of Robin Hood legend).
I worked with a woman who made the most delicious scones I ever had. She put cinnamon chips in them (like chocolate chips but cinnamon). When she brought them in they were gone in minutes. They didn't need to have anything on them, they were that good, but of course, we would put a bit of butter on them.
So I did a double take when I first saw the notification for this video because I thought it said _Prosciutto_ Afternoon tea and I thought...... Huh? 😁
Joel and Lia, afternoon tea is right up my alley. I love doing afternoon tea, have done it several times over the years. The first time I had afternoon tea was in 2008 , when I planned and paid for ot for my mom and I as her mother's day present. We had a wonderful time at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills. And it wasn't that much cost wise, I chose the $50 per person tea where we got a choice of two teas and the tower of sandwiches 🥪, scones and desserts. It was lovely. Then i have had friends take me out to tea houses for afternoon tea for my birthday ( there's a tea houses called the Chado Tea House in Downtown LA in Little Tokyo that's attached to the Japanese American Museum.) Most hotels like the Ritz Carlton, Peninsula , JW Marriott in downtown LA etc, basically luxury hotels through southern California have some kind of Afternoon tea. And The Ye Olde King's Head in Santa Monica has an afternoon tea. The Shoppe next door has everything you can find from the UK .
went there once (fabulous!) as part of my very, very, very tiny vacation (taking a course) in the UK, but I didn't know they served afternoon tea! mourning a missed opportunity. Thanks for the lovely video!
Lovely as always, beautiful scenery, very relaxing afternoon, a break from the madness of the everyday world! It’s fun to watch your expressions during the fast forward parts, I’m always thinking, “ooh, what good goss are they talking about!” 😂❤
I loved this video. What a lovely, relaxing afternoon! Thank you for sharing your afternoon tea with us. I've always wanted to do an afternoon tea. Congratulations again on winning your Blogosphere award, you deserve it, and I knew you would win! ❤🍾🥂❤
That being said….not that anyone asked… but I’d vote for merging the two channels. The content isn’t so different and it seems like it might be hard for casual viewers understand the difference between the two channels because the names are so similar.
After I converted 22 c to f, I laughed because it reminded me of my trip to Juno, Alaska where these ladies in one of the shops called 70 degree (Fahrenheit) weather unbearable. I know everything is relative, but I've never stopped laughing about their disdain for "hot" weather. 😂
One of my absolute favorite places to visit when I lived there. My son was 12-14 years old while we lived there, and he used to beg to go back! Never did tea there and the overnight villages are new! Very cool addition! Thanks for taking us along💜
If I’m not mistaken one of you used to prefer clotted cream first and then jam. I see you’re both jam first. Did someone change preference? Beautiful gardens!
I watch a lot of chateau people and one of them were talking about their peacocks. She said that after mating season the males tail feathers fall out. They regrow next year.
A taste of British 💙. We don't have "tea time" here in the states. We just don't hold any "quaint qualities", hahaha!! I wish we did though. Lia, that green tea cup was gorgeous!! That is my all-time favorite color!! Joel, I too would be drinking coffee, but like Lia, I'm more "savory", even though those sweets looked really tempting, LOL!! 🥂🌳🏰🌳
Afternoon tea is available in more places than you might think in the United States! A few of my favorites are: * Lovejoy's Tea Room, San Francisco, CA Charmingly cozy (think grandma's parlour and mismatched china), with a delicious savory-focused menu and optional petit fours. I'm obsessed with their egg and onion sandwich, and they have lovely scones with real Double Devon cream. * Shakespeare's Corner Shoppe and Afternoon Tea, San Diego, CA Modest outdoor seating area, but the afternoon tea has lots of bell's and whistles, and the adjacent shop is chock-full of imported British foods that can be hard to find in the U.S. * Rose Garden Tea Room at the Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens, San Marino, CA Lovely setting and menu, and a walk of the grounds helps work up an appetite! Scheduled to reopen in spring 2023. ❤🫖❤
@@bellaluce7088 Thank you for sharing. These places sound wonderful!! I'm in the eastern US but have always wanted to come out to California. I'm down to 1 family member in Northern Cali, but San Diego has always been on my bucket list. I would definitely consider these places and have "tea time", US-style while experiencing British foods, hehe 😉☺
@@VickiCampbell-1216 Ooh, yes to San Diego! I've been craving a trip to Southern California! I bet there are lots of cool tea places on the East Coast, too. Plus, you guys are that much closer to the UK if you want to experience afternoon tea at the source! ; - )
I was a little shook when you were at a castle and there were food trucks and people playing games in the fields. As an American, not at all what I think of when I think of visiting a castle! All was well with the lovely looking tea, though!
This is another one that's been on my list for a while. I love seeing it through your eyes before I get the chance to go! Also I recommend the Secrets of Great British Castles if you haven't seen it honeys!
An afternoon of sami’s and biscuits…of course that’s what I’d call it. Looks like it’s a great place. Funny though Lia is hot because the 22 degrees Joel mentioned would be in the low 70s Fahrenheit which isn’t hot. Would enjoy watching your adventures to Phoenix AZ in June when it’s like 46 degrees Celsius. Also congrats on your recent award.
Lovely vowel! But oh you snowflakes, haha, too hot, after all your trips to the US with Joel going to FL so much. You’ve got to do some more “training” over here!
@@lemonz1769 😁I was taught butter first, it melts into bread, then jam. Also it keeps butter clean for use without jam or different type of jam. I had not seen jam first before, in adults.

I voted for them, and lost in the pond
So jealous of your tea. I could almost taste the scones and clotted cream.
Same here, I was drooling a bit

You’re welcome! Such a great day out!

Oh Joel you know you are our Prince and Lia is our Princess
That was just beautiful. The grounds were meticulously groomed. Thanks for the look around.
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching!
This was lovely! Really enjoyed coming along for the tea. I’m with Lia - total savory fan. Have a great week!
Beautiful Castle. I haven’t been there since 1981. No tea time when I was there! Congratulations on your award. I love watching this channel. ❤

I enjoy their birds of prey show and their haunted dungeon tour was creepy and scary. I really enjoyed their Halloween at the castle too.

Cream first, then jam.😁 I have family from Devon.
Great video. Want to see more.
Wonderful video as usual but wondering is it a great debate in the UK of cream then jam or jam then cream?

The afternoon tea made me hungry. 10 yrs ago I spent a month in Kenya and afternoon tea featured chai tea. Is that common in England?
Is afternoon tea and lunch the same thing, or does tea come between lunch and dinner ?
Afternoon tea is usually after lunch
Is jam then cream the preferred order? I thought I had seen another video where they insisted the cream must go on first.
I really enjoy this channel --
Thanks so much Shawna!
Be careful Joel doesn't start vibrating form all that caffeine !!
Hahaha I know right!
Was the coffee Folger’s crystals?
Great video
Still requesting a trip to Salisbury!

"Afternoon tea" at midday ??? Should be at 4 pm. Also prosecco should not be served at tea. Inappropriate
