Always wanted to try that! Looks incredibly peaceful. Thanks for the tour.
Took my, then girlfriend, to float works about 15 years ago. I remember my brain going into total overdrive for the first 5 minutes, but then completely dropping out to nothing. It looked a whole lot different back then too.
4:49 Tip for not hitting the sides back and forth. When getting in, try not to disturb the water too much, creating currents.
Two, once you're lying down, hold both your arms to the side and touch the walls to center yourself to stop moving.
I’ve done this many times. Your first couple times are weird, but as you become comfortable you will be able to totally zen out and meditate. I often would fall asleep. I had these low tones playing as the sound and was able to meditate by focusing on the sounds.
This sounds so relaxing and peaceful, but I think I would find it hard to stop thinking about things while I was in there too. I also have anxiety, so I might want to have it not be completely dark since I have an overactive brain sometimes and I may start to overthink things. But at the same time, being visually impaired sometimes it’s better to have the lights off. I definitely want to try it though, it sounds like a cool experience. 🌟☺️❇️❤️
Oh, that looks Heavenly! Thanks for showing us how it's done... or not, Lia😂💕💕💕
I was just looking at you tube videos on this. My husband's aunt told me about this as we just moved to NC. This is going to be my first time doing this and have been a little nervous about doing this since I'm not a swimmer and always have had a fear of drowning. My birthday is tomorrow so this is a gift from my husband who says I work too hard and always put others first. Thank you for sharing your experience it has me so excited to go and I hope to enjoy this gift.
That looked enjoyable. Thanks for taking us along. I had never heard of this.
I absolutely love floating. I had the same issues my 1st time as well. The 3rd time I fell asleep 😴
Try and try again if your 1st time isn't the greatest
Lia ur ponytail looks so cute!!
Seemed fun. Cool watching what it was like!
How cool! I really want to find one of these in the states and try it!
Well I hope you're guys enjoyed yourselves. I would love to try something like that. October has been an okay month for me this year, but watching these videos make my day much better.
Fun! I need to try this.
I’ve experienced float tanks - so relaxing. I had racing mind first time, but once I knew the process, the next time was even better. 😊
Oh Joel! I feel you! I’m claustrophobic, as well. I would never have turned the light off!
There's one of these places just down the road from my house. I've always wanted to try it. You've given me the push. I imagine the salt density in the water is what helps you float and keep from sinking, just like in The Dead Sea or the Great Salt Lake. And I live just a few miles from the Great Salt Lake and have never tried that either
I Love Float Therapy sooo relaxing
Looks wonderful...!!!
We have these in Oklahoma, been wanting to try it out. I think we will now. Love you both.
Lia is getting more beautiful every new video.
Thanks for the review. I kind of want to do that.
Sounds like a great place to relax, adding a massage perfect ✌️💖
I would love to see you two hike up the outside of the O2 arena. Are they still doing that?
That looks like it was fun. You're probably right, it takes a few times to get used to it.
I've been thinking about doing this for a while. I'm gonna book a session. 😊
It would be cool if they had the galaxy of stars on the lid, like a planetarium. And also the option to hook up your phone to play your own music or podcast. For me, baths are not relaxing without external stimulation.
The halo reminded me of a toilet seat 😅😅. It does look so relaxing and something that I’d try.
I have a friend that used to go to a floatation center over thirty years ago in SF. He absolutely loved it, but the sensory deprivation tank he described was metal and sounded narrower (more industrial or experimental) than those nice big, wide, white ones in London. They've come a long way! Yours look more user friendly, spa-like and inviting!
They still have those. I find the pods much more relaxing. Those would be great if someone had claustrophobia.
I remember my dad and brother doing one after a ski trip in Vail in like 1982. I'm claustrophobic and the description alone was enough to make me say NOPE! Even though these pods seemed worlds away from the ones they described, I still don't think i could be in the pod. Maybe with it open, though. I love sensory deprivation.
My god, you are both sooooo sweet! 🥰
aw thank you!
I have heard these were nice. I would like to try it sometime.
I would be like Edina on in the episode of Absolutely Fabulous when she had one of those installed in her bedroom bathroom. She was only in for about 5 minutes and thought it was like 2 hours. I really don't think I would like it unless I left the lid up. I tried using a tanning bed once and after a few minutes I had to get out, bit of claustrophobia thanks to a nun that was my first grade teacher, worried woman.
I wonder if Vauxhall is where the famous amusement gardens were located?
similar to US ($60) and final is a relaxation rest room with herbal tea
This is interesting. We have a place like this in Toronto, might check it out.
The fact that you guys were vlogging this likely made it harder for you guys to switch (your mind/brain) off.
Check out Altered States, Fringe and an episode of Midsomer Murders which all involved a flotation tank at some point.
I think that you should do it again ,you both seem to enjoy it.I don't think that I would do it. It was a different experience than you were used to.
There is a place like that in LA that I want to try
I'm going to try it. There's one near me.
❤️❤️❤️
Oh that seems really relaxing and fun. I really want to try this. Leah please let me know if you found one in the Midlands thanks.😊
Where in the Midlands?
@@FloatingPointFloatCentre hi I’m from Leicestershire
@@ashp5597Birmingham one is closest to you.
@@FloatingPointFloatCentre thanks👍🏽
My tinnitus would still make it a noisy experience 😂
Have they always called it, "Floatation Therapy" in the UK? I like that more than the US term, which is just "Sensory Deprivation". This kind of thing s good for people who meditate and have been doing so for a while, I think. Once you can completely still your mind, it's a whole other experience.
I would have to have the light on too and not sure how well I could turn my mind off
You don't need to turn your mind off, thoughts come and go until the inner chatter stops by itself. During a float session the part of your brain responsible for all that inner chatter quietens... Never try and force yourself to relax it doesn't work.
You need to float a few times before you get the full benefit - the first time is all about the experience of floating.
Showing my age here… does anyone remember Robin Williams’ first US situation comedy “Mork and Mindy”? He emerges from an egg which looks like the tank.
I'd be afraid to go in that thing! little claustrophobic!
Looked quite relaxing but not sure my claustrophobic mind would shut off either
I did this a few months ago and hated it. I could relax my body but not my mind, so I got out after 30 min and left 😂
You don't need to turn your mind off, thoughts come and go until the inner chatter stops by itself. During a float session the part of your brain responsible for all that inner chatter quietens. Even if you don't relax your mind you are giving it a chance to process thoughts that your mind wants to process, think of it as a mental clear out.
"Silky" The word you want to describe your skin in the salt water is silky, not slimy LOL. Looks like it would be lovely!
It would be our great pleasure if you could accept our invitation to the Salt Cave in Borehamwood WD6 1AG
From the movie “ altered states”
Too claustrophobic for that but it sounds lovely
Maybe you will be able to shut your mind off and relax more. No phones and GoPro next time. Hopefully, you will come back again and try it.
Oh, you even look pretty with panda eyes Lia. Interesting you both could not turn your brain off. Perhaps because you knew you wanted to remain aware so you could share the experience.
You were not in a sensory deprivation tank. There is no light, sound etc. and the salt content is so high that you cannot feel the water around you. If your mind is not in the proper frame of mind, you could suffer a catastrophic outcome that can wreak havoc on your mental well-being for the rest of your life. If you want to see what real sensory deprivation is like, watch the 1980 R-rated movie "Altered States" directed by Ken Russell and written by Paddy Chayefsky.
Good grief...Lia darling..you just completely missed the whole point and missed out on the experience by talking, filming, turning the light on and off, sitting up etc. That's too bad really. I don't mean to be unkind at all because I adore you but geez...that was a total waste of money on Joel's part.
You've run out of BAD IDEAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is a place like that in LA that I want to try
