So effing irrelevant in these dire times. Still, I guess you can't talk about what you don't know, so I guess there's that..
That kitchen is practically microscopic. I don't see how you'd get any cooking done in there at all. The rest of the rooms are not horrible if you live alone, but wow. I know space is at a high premium in the UK, though. I can't imagine trying to live with someone else in a cramped place. The prices are just scary for having anything even remotely usable and livable.
One thing that I love about Brighton from watching Zoella is how houses are so closed off....seems so private...with a wall fence around the whole property!!
It’s a charming little place. For me, the best part is that private garden in the back! Lovely for sitting out with a nice glass of white wine and a good book!
It's called a "Galley Kitchen" because it's styled after the small ones they put in large sailing boats.
perfect for the nautical theme of the flat. i think it's hilarious that Joel hates the nautical vibes.

I just looked up on Google Maps how long it takes to drive from London to Port Isaac where "Doc Martin" was filmed: 4-1/2 hours, 241 miles. To a US driver, that's just a medium-long trip. Wake up at 6AM, head out at 7AM, and you'd be there just in time for lunch.
I agree, 4 hours could be done spontaneously.
I know your guy's sit-down videos are a hit and super popular. But I really dig when you guys do these more vloggy type of videos together! Should definitely do more of these on the main channel as well.
I LOVE that garden! I would also love to see the two of you go to Edinburgh. I love it there, but missed my summer trip because of Covid. I'd be very interested to know what an Air B&B is like there.

Oooh - even better (I've been on Google Maps): 1) Chichester to Torquay where "Fawlty Towers" was filmed to Port Isaac where "Doc Martin" was filmed; 2) Chichester to Poole where you catch a ferry to Guernsey and Jersey, the Channel Islands. The longest of these trips (to Jersey) is only 7hrs, 5-1/2 hours of that relaxing on the ferry.

I would love to see the town. That you two think will be the next Brighton. Now so many from London Flock there. I also would love to see the cheapest flat and the most expensive flats. Assuming they will give a key to let you tour them. And if Britain does haunted houses this time of year I bloody love walkthrough of that lol. Also any countryside cottages or hidden gems in the UK that only locals know about.
I actually lived in Brighton for one week along time ago. I lived right by the beach. And it was in the winter and it was dreadful and dreary and overcast and rainy all the time. So I didn’t have a very good time. But me and my friends found a Scottish pub where they didn’t like any English people but they loved Americans. So w drank there a lot. Because they loved us. And they hated English people.
I noticed in the bath and kitchen the faucets use the single handle not the separate hot and cold ones.
Very nice flat. Enjoyed the Brighton series and hope there is more on the way soon. Any city or town in the UK is fine with me and love seeing them from your prospective.

That was a very nice place! Especially to be in a flat that has it's own private outside area. Where I live, apartments don't really have any private outside space like that. They might have a common area that has a play ground for kids or a pool with some seating. It's all shared with everyone else though. The cost is very similar too unless you were closer to Boston which is outrageously expensive ($1,600-1,900 for a studio-no bedroom, under 600 sq ft.) If you ever decide to visit the Boston area I would suggest staying outside of it and getting a rental car because it would just be too much money. Most of the places I see you two go around where you both live or just visit for filming seems very close to everything you need like shops etc. and easy to walk to. It's just too far to walk to places in the US unless you are in a large city.

Considering that Brighton has the same vibe as Santa Monica, I was thinking what a comparable place would cost there. Possibly double, even if you went south to Venice or another beach city. Rent in L.A. County is absurd.

Thanks for the tour of this lovely home. For fun I've been looking up properties in England as well as Canada and France. Hopefully we'll be able to travel abroad again in the not too distant future. There's a lovely town I stumbled upon during my virtual travels in Devon, England called Brixham. I wonder if you know of it. So pretty!
I would love to see you go and explore the Isle of Jersey. I had ancestors who came from there in the early 1800's to Ohio. I would like to see you guys go to Melton Mowbray also. My grandma came from there.🙂

Have I just landed from another planet ? Is £1800 rent pm considered cheap ??? Its over 3 times my monthly mortgage payment . Many hard working people don't even clear £1800 in a month , let alone hand it over on a monthly basis for rent !!!

I agree--the kitchen kills the deal. Way too narrow. What does £2200 get you? In Northern California, we pay that for an entire rental home.

I was going to suggest the same thing! It would also be interesting to dive deeper into a region's linguistics/accent (looking at you, Joel!).
Stayed in a lower ground level flat in London. Never again! If there is an emergency, how do they get a gurney down those narrow stairs? Someone could hide in those storage areas. Worst thing......we came home late one evening to discover someone had used the stairs as their bathroom! BTW it was on a VERY nice street in Knightsbridge.
Don’t worry Denise the ambulance carries a special chair especially for negotiating stairs. Horrible about the other matter though. That’s why a lot of those buildings have a lockable gate at the top of the stairs.

Can you go to Scotland or Wales? I like the flat but in the US you can rent a 3 to 4 bedroom for 1600.00 usd. That is of course if you are not in the bug cities like New York, LA , Chicago etc.

I'm trying to think of a kind word for this video, but I can't !!! It's not a ground floor flat, its a basement flat. No "bin areas" within property in central Brighton or Hove. Only street recycling points and general waste street bins. A two bedroom flat is only £1200 per month even with a garden. A basement flat costs less due to street rubbish and homeless causing endless issues. The high end airbnb flats are in Hove and they come with walk-on balconies or rooftop gardens. The main issue is airbnb ghetto's all located within a mile of the beach. With only a few local residences remaining within this area, crime is higher than normal and airbnb's are a prima target for burglary. "Those Two Brits" paid too much for this flat, in the wrong area and put themselves at risk. Since there from London can't they do a video from Tower Hamlets or Newham?
