How To Replace Control Switches (Audio / Cruise Main) On Steering Wheel For Honda Accord 2003-2007

- Having problem with main cruise control / audio switches on the steering wheel on Honda Accord 2003-2007? Perhaps replacing the control switches would be one of the ways to fix the problem you might have such as malfunction, broken or the buttons stopped latching.
It is very easy to do, require minimal tools and only take a few minutes. Genuine new Honda OEM parts might be somewhat expensive but you might be able to get it cheaper with aftermarket parts or even from the junk yard.
This video should help you get some ideas on how to remove, replace and install these control switches. On some models such as DX, only the cruise control is available, but for the LX & EX models, there's also an audio control switch on the left side of the steering wheel.
This video was done on a 2004 Accord 2.4L (which is the same as 2003, 2005, 2006 & 2007). The process should be similar to many other Honda or Acura models such as Civic, CRV, Element, Pilot & Odyssey.
Here are some of the things you might want to consider when trying to diagnose or troubleshoot your broken switches. If you only have one control switch (which is main cruise), then perhaps an easiest and cheapest method to solve the problem might be to swap the unit with a new one. If that doesn't work, then you may need to check the continuity of your brake switch on top of the brake pedal or replace the cable reel / clock spring, especially if both of your switches are not working at the same time. It would be rare for both switches to be broken simultaneously.

Great video thanks
Can we add the volume control on the right side if we dry k my have it?
Do you know about the actual "cruise control" button. I'm looking for that button itself. I have a Honda fit sport09.. saw someone had a part number for accord honda. Not sure if that one would fit mine.
Can you give me a site I can get a new volume control on the left side of my steering wheel of a 2015 Kia Sorento.
After removing the screws in my 2008 CRV (mine actually did come out all the way), I cannot get the unit to budge at all, therefore cant get to the point where I disconnect it as you do at ~ 1:18.....any suggestions? Thanks very much for making the video in the first place !!!
In my creta stering control only one button ( next track ) is not working,,, other all such as volume and mute are working..... plz help
so if none of the buttons work on audio side, the clock spring is broken?
What size screwdriver do i use?
can i just u unplug that switch ? mine has shortage so when i turn the wheel the radio goes up & down or changes station & cruise lights pops on
My 03 accord cruise control buttons work but the radio control buttons don't work. Think that's the switch or clock spring? Thanks for the video!
Prob the clock spring , did u ever fix it ? I have the same problem , I went to the junk yard and took out the controls for the audio and that didn’t fix it , so prob the clock spring for me
@@mxndo619 no I ordered used controls off Ebay and they sent me the wrong ones but still plugged in they didn't work and I couldn't get the airbag cover off a couple of the screws were messed up. I just left it!
So the cruise control works but the button doesn’t stay down but the volume control is not working
Do you know which power steering fluid has the best viscosity to use as self-satisfaction to completion lubricant?
Yeah, I just turned my steering wheel all to one side and turn my volume up at work so it’s that damn clock spring thing whatever you’re talking about
Hi, where you buy the switches from? Tia.
junk yard
Hi, very good video, I have an Accord 06 LX, but it does not have the controls on the steering wheel,
Do you think I can adapt them?
I was going to buy the audio controls but both the audio and the cruise are coming, however the harness is bigger than the entry I have on the steering wheel, my input is similar to yours with 5 pins.
what do you think?
I think you could adapt it, but you might have to get a different clock spring if the connectors are not the same.
How did u remove the horn cover?
He's got a video on it
@@proskatersf90 Link?
My doesn't have a clip. It's two white connectors soldered to the board.
same for me. Did you find a way to remove the connectors?
