@@elevatione2845 I plan on joining EMS pretty soon. I then hope to get my paramedic. After that I’d like to rejoin the fire service or remain EMS depending on which pays better. Pretty sad I have to do that as a firefighter but I don’t want everything I’ve already done to be all for nothing

Not all of them do I no construction workers who make more, whoever it’s a good job great benefits but my cousins a lineman.. and they skunk firefighters.

Median pay in WI is 38.5 K in Wisconsin. How do they get anyone to work for that? You can make that in fast food or at Walmart. I was looking into career paths for my 19 year old son who is very physically fit, likes a challenge with a little danger, and likes to help people, but at this type of pay, I cant recommend it. I recently switched careers and went into the trades and I make double this as an apprentice 2 years in
Dude answer like a politician man how much you get paid
Lol that’s funny
😂😂😂😂😂
Louis Litt slimmed down a bit and became a firefighter wow
OP comment
Depending on the county / or city you work for will decide your pay. Starting out you can bank on around 50k / year starting out.
And that’s gross pay😬
California they are making six figures
@@caliph86that’s cali everything is doubled there due to cost of living just divide 100k by 2 it’s still 50k
@@kthnxbi8834you mean net pay??
Every station around me including mine is volunteer. We get paid nothing

Why trade?
Government benefits, sleep on the job, get payed to workout, screw around most of the time, exciting experiences chick's, and public admiration.
Los angeles city fd is 78k starting
I know the paid firemen in the towns around me get paid nice but the nepotism is really bad around here.
How so?
What does it take to become a firefighter?
Going through the fire academy.
You need to know how to fight fire
Put your dukes up and fight fire
