So, I had an idea... Well actually, no I didn't. I stole an idea. Matt Lowne did a fantastic video using AI to build missions for him in Kerbal Space Program, so I figured, why can't I get it to build me a tank in Sprocket?
This is my first time making a video like this, but I think it came out quite well, and I hope you did too!

Babe wake up, new Eta320 vid!
Alright honey, ill watch
Im awake im awake!
Im awake!
@@tomhelcon6331 u watch him too lol
And even better a sprocket video
I asked it about how would a new model of the T-34 would be like.
It answered: "Included with laser rangefinding and sattelite communication."
Oh Hell naw Russia be deploying the T34 in ukraine
😰
@@cooldownboi3890 I saw so much nonsense on the Internet that now I can’t understand are you really crazy and don’t know about the May 9 parade or are you just joking
@@nixles2577 IK, It's just a joke
That laser rangefinder is going to be a laser pointer the crew used to play with the family cat and was then strapped onto the mantle t and the satellite is made out of cardboard
It looks like if the designers of the Sherman and T-34 sat down and designed a tank in the early days of 1942.
The back reminds me of the Amx M4
Or the Panther
Truly allied tank
Umm, actually the T-34 tank designer died in 1939 during a testing run of the said tank 🤓🤓🤓
Ye
@@rejego4094 lmao caught pneumonia while testing his own tank
Yeah so I posted this on the Sprocket discord and saw that there are so many other Sprocket Content Creators who have done something similar to this. Oh well, I had fun and I will probably do more.
Please do the other two as seprate vids it was lovely
We have an active contest going where you get an AI prompt and build a tank from it. You should try joining if slots are still available - as of writing there's only 2 left.
yea the admins had been playing around with the automod(YAGPDB) giving prompts for tanks for the past week or so, though the automod is a lot wackier than chat - gpt(defo becuase of the person who programed the feature)
Yeah, do design on cold war era or modern era
Or you could do with Midjourn Ai and Dall-E for image Ai, you could ask anything with image and prompt
75 ammo in a turret.... Rest In Pieces Gunner, Loader, and Commander
Since it's an early war tank it might predate the 3-man turret design maybe
average german tanks
At least it isn't a ammo cage
At least uparmor the turret or sumthin😅
Every modern tank holds it ammo in the turret, western tanks have wet storage containers with doors that open and close to separate the ammo from the crew and Russian tanks have a carousel autoloader underneath the bustle.
Jesus, how is this soo interesting?
I'm just sitting here blowed away with every idea for this tank, the rigits, the position for ammo and everything.
Love it!
Polski Approves 👍
I love how even the AI wanted you to call it M1
Unironically this is basically what it would look like if the US was contracted to build T34 with cast hulls I swear
Hey eta , i believe you should make two individual vids talking more about each tank with more detail.
Love from greece 🇬🇷
I agree
YES
I agree.
I agree
i agree!!!
Having 2 separate videos like this one would be really nice!
Agreed
Funny, somebody who plays Sprocket regularly made the same idea into a video. I like these suprises
Edit: this half-cast half-riveted design reminds me of the AC I Sentinel except it was welded (and they needed to assemble the chassis from 3 cast pieces because Australia couldn't do it at once)
no the sentinel was all one piece casting.
He says about not wanting it to look like a T-34, but when he started stretching the turret towards the front, it reminds me of the IS-1/IS-2 heavy tanks.
Nice idea and cool design! One of my favorite prompts for Sprocket that I've done with friends is to design a light tank that can be delivered via glider. Similar to the Tetrarch or the M22 Locust. Gun, speed and armour could be flexible, but the tank couldn't weigh any more than 7 tons and be any bigger than 7 feet. Led to some really nifty little 1940s concepts!
I really enjoyed this video. All the little details and the whole thought process. Would love to see the other 2 designs in 2 individual videos
Very interesting video ! I might consider doing it myself because it looks like a lot of fun. By the way, at 9:30, you mention how these roadwheels look like the Christie type roadwheels although in the game they are said to be the roadwheels of the early Cruiser tanks. Well, you may not know it but the Cruiser tanks actually use the Christie suspension which is why they look so similar !
Anyway, the end result looks quite cool, and it was fun to watch.
I did know, I sorta remark that in the video by saying “the game says cruiser tanks but I think it’s Christie style, which I guess isn’t too far off” because the Christie T3 and the cruiser Mk 3 appear to use the same road wheels and suspension.
for me on this game i always struggle the most with a name for a design i usually just kinda dive in until a sorta overall vision begins to develop as i fuck around with ideas. tho i mostly use this game to design either exotic, super, or concept ideas for tanks like for example a tank designed to be a personnel carrier while still retaining the usual standards of at least a medium tank in terms of armor and firepower. my favourite was when i decided for a fun prompt i came up with what if after ww1 the ft17 never became the standard of tank design and instead the landship did and spent abunch of time making landship style tank designs for the french, british, german, russian, and US armys over the course of the interwar period and into the second world war for the day. was super fun. i def never thought of having chat gpt do scenerios and this def looked fun
It’s been a rough month or so for a whole bunch of reasons. Some Eta320 Sprocketeering is just what the Doctor ordered, thank you. Good to see you covering the game again, mate.
There will be more where this came from. At least 2 more!
Kinda looks like a is7
you just made a t34 without making a t34
This is an amazing video. It's rare that I feel excited for someone to upload but I always know that whenever Eta 320 uploads I'm gonna enjoy it and be engaged the whole time
Definitely 2 separate vids, the fine details are very interesting and it's entertaining to hear the thought process
How lucky, just saw your post and now your video.
this is the first video ive seen made by you, and i was so confused by a panzerfaust in the corner
There's not much else too it honestly. Its just a panzerfaust in the corner
honestly i wish Poland wasnt so overshadowed by russia and germany .I understand why, and I myself still enjoy the tanks and planes by other countries, but if only Poland was able to actually build and produce their own armaments in ww2. to be fair Poland was off the map for 100 years before ww1, but i think it would be nice to see a potential Polish tank compete with Tigers and JS 2's. If you'd like us commenters to give suggestions on scenarios, then i think it'd be a cool idea too, even if all we do is vote on different tank parts. btw keep up the good work man, great videos
Absolutely loved the deep dive, I think it's important context for design process videos!
i was shocked when you mentioned kerbal space program and matt lowne. KSP is my favorite game
Hell nah gimme an individual video for each, subbed
two individual videos please! i love the details and all
This is the first video of yours I've ever seen and you have one of my favorite bolt actions behind you. Clearly the Lee Enfield is the reason the British won the war
whike the lee isnt my all time favourite its def very close to it, specially the no. 4, but in general its a very awsome and stylish rifle, super smooth to shoot that bolt is wonderful.
lets go! for some reason you kinda disapeared off my recommened but glad to see you back there!
I admittedly haven’t posted in awhile lol
Put a cylinder on the bottom of the turret that sits inside the hull. Think battleship, but the ammo mag will rotate with the turret. Add a turret ring to deflect rounds off the turret. It reduces divers into the hull.
I just want to note the Yugoslav "Vozilo A" prototype used in the thumbnail, kind of cool
Bro... I love your room so much. Like, the Bonple High School logo is such a good touch.
I'd love to see more of this style video
i would say it is cool design and it has mixture of Leopard 1 and T-34 which sounds kinda interesting. also amaizing video!
Man as a fellow tanks enjoyer i love your dedication and videos :DD
chatgpt getting into too many tanie forums
This is why I love your Sprocket vids more than others lol
I hope that image generators like Bluewillow evolve and be able to generate image with exact specifications similar to rendering programs because just seeing you build a tank like this simple intrigues me.
Your tank, especially with the hull, reminds me a bit of the Japanese Type 67 hull. Honestly even the turret shape and how slimmer and tall the overall tank is reminds me of the sort of build of the type 67 (except the type 67 definitely had a better gun than this lol). It's as if the Soviets had the idea of that tank but at an earlier time period, also some differences in the frontal plate, it reminds me of an IS-1/2 early hull.
This is the first time I saw a video from you, I'm not yet done watching the video but thats a neat Bonple insignia at the back
Edit: This is really awesome, 8/10. Would be a 9 or hell maybe even a 10, I just have an issue with the ammo placement but that's fine since I understand why
when doing cast turrets i genuinely dislike using the freeform cast as start the two split or just generated turret i feel is much more manageable to shape, then when i got the desired rough shape i carve out the details adding more points and lines. i feel like its easier to add more lines than sitting there tryna sculpt the turret removing points/lines, only reason im mentioning this is because i feel sprockets freeform tool is such a cool and powerfull tool for creation of tanks in any shape you can imagine and im so pationate about how easy and intuitive the freeform feels
go into more detail about both tanks! super in depth is super fun, and would love 2 more videos
I knew it i knew a video idea like this would exist! Less gooo!
It does look like an IS 2
I just feel how tight it would be sitting inside of turret, still the AI-produced concepts of something is quite entertaining theme
Also I might say this tank more likely giving a Yugoslavian vibe of mixing different aspects of different tankbuilding schools
cast turrets are usually pretty small internally but that didnt look to bad, soecially since theres a 75 mounted for it
Hey, that's a Yugoslav "Tenk A" tank prototype (based on a T-34) on your thumbnail. It was produced after WW2 after the break with the USSR and before the West supplied the country with the Shermans.
watching this type of video is very pleasant, really like it
The smooth shoulders on the hull attract flat angle shots making it impossible to angle effectively and making you equally vulnerable at all angles.
Porche tiger trap.
Really cool to have found the channel so early on and to now see it blowing up.
This is a really cool idea. When I get Sprocket, I'm going to do something like this.
First time on the channel, and this isn't at all a complaint, but that "Fucking around with the hull" caught me so off guard XD
The shot traps… 😬
It looks like a Polish/Czech interpretation of the T-34
Hey Eta what did you think of the LazerPig T-34, Tiger 1 and T-14 Videos?
Tiger 1 video was good, T-34 video was informative but not to be taken seriously, and I don’t want to talk about the T-14 video
@@eta320 what's wrong with the T-34 video?
@@theroundtable6371 The overall point of the video is valid, and on a broad scale, I agree with most of what is said in it. However, there are a lot of odd sources used and it makes a lot of claims that were dubious at best. There is a general lack of nuance and understanding of the economic, industrial, and political situation surrounding the tank (all of which go as far back as its inception in 1936). The video paints with a very large brush, and claims a lot of things as fact, when they can only be speculated.
The video also starts off basically dismissing a fantastic historian who specializes in Russian/Soviet armored history, because he got in an argument with him on Reddit. And the whole video plays out with "We're gonna ignore all of this evidence defending the T-34 because none of it is true and people who support the tank are dumb." Which from a historical analysis perspective is incredibly immature and should instantly tell you that you should take everything said in it with a LARGE grain of salt.
Also the fact that the narrator admits to being drunk the whole video, and admitted themselves in a later video that they were not in the best mindset when they made the T-34 video and they regret a few things about it.
I won't claim to be any better, I'm just some random idiot who loves tanks. But I am not personally impressed with the T-34 video. It made some good points, and was overall a fine summary, but when you get to the meat of it, there is a lot wrong with it.
The T-14 video has all of these flaws, x10.
@@eta320 I would argue that LP made a fine argument. For example, he immediately in the beginning of the video talks about the difference between postwar and wartime T-34 tanks, and acknowledges that the economic/industrial side of the tank hindered it's performance in WW2, and that is why post WW2 T-34s are built to a much higher standard. I feel that he addressed T-34 "fans" and their defenses quite well, especially considering the US field test of the T-34 and the critics of said test. I get that he gave off the impression that he dismisses all who praise the tank in the beginning of the video with his opening skit, but he does actually address most arguments I myself had made about the T-34. And while yes, he was drunk during the video, it's not like he doesn't have a script, he does seem prepared. I might have missed some things, if you can point out anything specific I got wrong I'd appreciate it. Btw love the content
@@eta320 Thanks for you’re thoughts oh holiest tank preist! 🙏😌
Re-name it the SC-50(średni czołg 50, Medium Tank type 50) ``Sokoły`` or something like that.
i love this video, great work (you should to to 2 in-depth videos going over the in and outs of the other designs..... then put all the videos into a supercut)
the soviet engineers of ww2 using comradeGPT to do their homework
the tank outlined has two main issues, width and height, you can get away with a 3.5m width, and a 3m height.
Brotha, i cant believe it took me just over a month ago to find your channel. Another tank nerd to watch
So cool! Do the two more videos on each tank, AI content is so interesting 👍
Makes me wonder what wouls be the best design you could to withing the confines of late 1930' tech, while keeping in mind it having to be quite fast to manufacture, and good to maintain...
The idea of welding in your tanks from like few cast steel parts seems pretty good.
Also heres another interesting idea for a tank design.
The Maus Super Tank (WW2 Axis) but redesigned/reimagined by the Soviet Union.
Knowing how crafty the Russians were back then for technology they probably could have perfected the Maus or at least designed a better version of it.
Of course a machine would recommend a T34 as an ideal design, it never has to crew the damn thing.
Nice Lee enfield in the background
with ammo magazine it was like:
fuhrer is giving you an order to build tiger and if you're going to build anything against his will you will be shot
absolutely great idea of incorporating chatgpt in fictional tank building
I'd prefer more in-depth videos, but either way I'm looking forward to the next video in this series!
Epic build, would love to see more builds by you. Rare to see a chill youtuber making sprocket vids. (Most sprocket ytbrs are annoying asf)
I like the big turret, it really give it an early war vibe.
Why does everyone relate angled armour to T-34? It’s been a thing since medieval times with castle walls being angled. Even ww1 tanks had angled armour.
It’s simply the most famous point of reference, and also considering the prompt I have the AI specified an Eastern European type nation, I just had T-34 on my mind this whole build.
But I agree T-34 was not the first (I would point at the French) just the most famous to slope on all sides as a significant design feature.
Amazing video! Keep it up! When IS 7 vid tho?
The best way to play sprocket is to get in a vc with your friends and brainstorm to make a goofy ahhhh tank. I made one yesterday that was 30 feet tall and could top pen other tanks
You are alive.....Holy cow
I'd say your tank looked more like a mix between a t-34 and a t-54/55 in regards to the looks simply because the smooth turret shape.
That was a super cool vid you should do two separate vid
21:52 that decal says big lobster
Eta: i need a tank design
Chatgpt: here's a t34
I love this GPT idea, I’d like to see more content like that in sprocket.
Bros boutta be in war, making designs for tanks
1:00 yay matt lowne the funny ksp man
I would call the tank m1-34
glad to see sprocket again
It looks like the child of the T-54 and the T-34
It sorta looks like illegitime child of Yugoslavian Tip-A and Strv74
I think Messier82 is the OG in the "AI makes a *insert building*". Could be wrong
Me: *touching the wields of a T34 with my MG3-LZR* The T34: *Busts open*
Great vid, would love to see 2 mor evids
even ai know what is a good tank
Tank engineers. People who need to do exactly what military wants without military themselves actually knowing what they want.
The turret looks like a hybrid of a t-34-85 and a t-55 turret
I had a similar idea where i asked chatgpt limitations and build something around it
Then i remembered chatgpt is blocked in Italy
I love it eta!
I have never seen this guy before but the thumbnail of this vid has the cat got text overlapping the t34 gun by a tiny bit
Wait... doesn't this violate Asimov's 0th and 1st laws of robotics
Yo Eta will we ever get a Quora is Cursed 2? I just finished watching that hid for what feel like the 50th time and I'm still laughing every time!
This is what happens when composite M4 and T-34/85 have as a child
The worden piece on the front plate makes me remind of the t55
this is literally a yugoslav vozilo A and i love it
I'll be honest this feels like you designed a cast hull T-34 lmao
im from poland i love its history and the wojtek on your wall
Great video. My only input is: keep using Deadbolt tracks.
as we all know, peak eastern performance is the t-34, even AI understands this
