Doe's is outstanding! Great Steaks, No menu and old decor is the charm! A+++
I LOVE DOES! my wife grew up in greenville, ms
Great beginning! You have a nack for conversation, and in my opinion, you did a fine job. Looking forward to your next adventure .
HA! I've driven down there from Minnesota 3 times because of the awful floors, no menus, and the overall experience! Love that place and hope it never changes.
This is where I live, eating at Doe's tonight actually. 😋 It is a very unique atmosphere, but you grow to love it. We enjoy the laid-back atmosphere and being able to go grab a new beer without needing any wait. They just count the bottles on your table at the end. The waitresses are sometimes a little TOO comfortable and forget not everyone has eaten there so they need to always go over the menu. 😄 But they never do.
One of the best steak places in Fort Smith, Arkansas is Doe's Eat Place...I no longer live there, but when I did it was a special occasion place (pricey)...I just looked it up to see if it's connected to this restaurant in your video and sure enough "In 1941, Dominic “Doe” Signa began cooking steaks and tamales for the people of Greenville, Mississippi." Pretty cool. :) Subscribed.
Looks so good. Grew up eating the same way but gonna have to come check you all out.
We have a Doe’s Eat Place in Jonesboro, AR, but I haven’t tried it. We have a Demo’s Smoke House Bar-B-Que restaurant that is FANTASTIC, if you want to venture over into Arkansas sometime. I would put their ribs up against any I have tried, anywhere in the country! GOOD LUCK with this channel, Chas! I love it!
I've been to three Doe's location. Ft Smith my favorite, Little Rock Ar. distant third Clarmore OK. One day I'm going to Greenville MS. I'm told Fayetteville AR is pretty good from another person we meet in passing about food.
Born and raised in Greenville, MS....Last year Dec. , I finally ate here for the first time with a buddy of mine, including my wife, his wife, and our kids. Gotta say, you get what you pay for. Biggest steak I have Ever eaten in my life...lol. One steak can literally feed 2 people, and you will both be full. This place is all my buddy talks about now....he said we have to go back, and I totally agree. Hate it took me 31 years to finally eat here, but later is better than never.
Had the ribeye, and it was the best steak I've eaten. Did a lil recon before going, so we already knew what we wanted
I need to check it out but tamales I’ll only have from my mothers kitchen 😅
On my life peanut red had the best tamales 🫔😋 rip red be open minded in Greenville ain't nothing better than tamales
Describes MS in a nutshell. Hits and misses. But when it hits-transformative.
THE BROILED SHRIMP 🍤 IS off the chain good and you guy ordered everything that I love, ribeye 🥩 would have been my choice of cut. No menus, causal, and atmosphere is DOES🤗✌🏼🥰
If price is a concern your better off going somewhere else but if you want a huge steak they have it. They broil the steak then poor the dripping back over the steak if you order it wet. Dry means no dripping.
How about trying The pig and pint in Jackson Ms. I've been wanting to try that place
The steak was absolutely amazing and a great reason to visit this place again. I'm looking forward to visiting some of the other Doe's Eat Place restaurants and comparing the experience. I am putting the Pig and Pint on my list to try in the near future! Thanks so much for the comments!
I tried Doe's in Paduka. Lame..... Greenville is the real deal.
@@chastravels1970 if you ever make it to Springdale AR, stop into A-Q chicken house and ask for there signature over the coals fried chicken. Comes either bone in or boneless tenders. They have been around since 1929
I work there in the 70 my mother in law mae ella work there to ask Mrs Rosie, n Charles the young son r grandson once lv it I live in oh now
If you've never been to Craig's Bar B Q in DeValls Bluff, Arkansas you definitely should. The most unique and fabulous Bar B Que I've ever had and I live in Memphis, TN. That in itself should tell you something about Craig's BBQ. Just check it out if you can and The Pie lady is across the street. Take all of it home. The Que and the Pies. BTW, when you go to a restaurant that is famous for their Steaks and most notably the Porterhouse, you should always order steak at Does.
$65.00 ? That’s half my weekly grocery budget ! I live in Canada and am not considered poor but Sixty five dollars for a steak ? Wow !
last time I ordered a Porterhouse 2.5 pounds was $35.00 a pound. I'll pay it every time in Ft. Smith it never disappointed.
Stay in Canada. We got money down here and love to eat!
I have to respond to this. I worked in a restaurant on 30th in a business building in Georgetown. Music City Roadhouse. The end.
The tamales are good, as long as you get plenty of juice with them. The steaks are WAY overpriced.
My home town people don't kiss ass where I'm from but yeah there's plenty of good food to eat but yes they're mean asf lol
Lmao established in 1941 in a slave town like Greenville Mississippi no thanks
