      I have owned an XD40 for 21 years, they are the most reliable of the polymer strikers. Like SPN said, his stock XD9 has over 14,000 perfect rounds through it.

      My first gun was an XD45 with an XD9 subcompact soon to follow that. I've gotten so much hate from my Glock friends (all playful jokes) but I haven't had a single failure yet of both of them. At the end of the day, you want something that will fire when you most need it. Have fun and train often!

    My most reliable gun… Beretta 92FS… competition gun and I’ve shot 60,000+ rounds through it since 1991. Next is my Gen 3 Glock 17…. 34,000 rounds and still going. Only changed out the factory captured guide rod. … it didn’t break, I just changed it for overall maintenance.

      I own both of those as well and don't have anywhere near as many rounds through them even combined compared to yours. That's very nice. Have you had to replace any parts such as strikers or recoil springs?

    • @colt10mmsecurity68
      @colt10mmsecurity68 10 місяців тому +2

      @@john4K47 Yes the recoil spring on my beretta is changed every 6,000 rounds whether it needs it or not. The trigger return spring has broke on me a few times, but it’s a 30 second fix. I usually change it out at the same time I change the recoil spring. At around the 30,000 mark, I changed out literally every spring, extractor, firing pin and locking block BEFORE they broke. The barrel was replaced at the 40,000 round count for good measure. While well worn, It was still hitting bullseyes but a new factory drop in barrel was just so easy to replace so why not? It was just preventative maintenance, like we do with car parts on high mileage vehicles. Other than those items that I consider preventative maintenance, it has not failed. For the Glock 17, I’ve only changed the captured recoil spring as preventative maintenance but that gun has never failed.

    • @john4K47
      @john4K47 10 місяців тому

      @@colt10mmsecurity68 that's cool. I haven't replaced any parts on my Beretta or G17 yet. Because both don't have nearly enough rounds through them. For the longest time I kept the Beretta mainly as a collector's piece and didn't shoot it often.

    I've been a Glock guy for decades, but I've had Sigs, CZs, Rugers, M&Ps, and a Kahr. The worst reliability issues I've ever had have been with the Glock 42 and the Ruger Security 9.

    Glock guy here. I have Gs From g43 to g34, plus all the baby Glocks. Not a single problem with any of them. However, after watching your videos, I thought I’d give the hellcat and hellcat pro a try. You right, they are crazy reliable. The one thing I changed was the recoil spring with the DPM spring kit. After testing the 3 springs that come with the kit, I found the middle spring to decrease recoil the best. I believe it decreases recoil by 20%.
    Thanks for your info.
    BTW I’ve been on fence about the P365. After watching your videos, I will just stick to my hellcats 🙏🏻

    You said it perfect. The pico shoots great when it shoots. Its actually the softest recoiling of the tiny single stack .380s.
    But at the cost of a recoil spring that's too strong. Buffalo bore or underwood will run well.
    Its ironic. Beretta wanted to have the only .380 in the world rated for the unpublish "+p .380" spec. But ended up with a gun that wont run anything but +p reliably.

    Pocket pistol triggers are awesome, it's so cringey when people call them garbage. that safety that allows safe pocket carry allows you to hold onto your gun with your hand in your pocket in front of people without them knowing. This allows you to go from a 2 second draw time to a half a second draw time. That could mean life or death. If I see someone who looks suspicious, my hand is on my gun, and none the wiser. It's a significant advantage. Its meant for close range. However, if you work on your grip you can overcome a poor trigger pull.

    I have been buying and collecting handguns for about 43 yrs. Many are semiautos that are all steel and metal and some are polymer striker fired and also some are Revolvers. I can tell you honestly that I have never had a Revolver that had any problems with the rare exception because homemade reloads only 1 time . This is why me and many others are switching back to from autos back to Revolvers . If there is mass Kaos like a riot or a war like situation thats when I will pack my Gen 1 Glock 17 or my S&W model 915 , but believe me there will be j-frame small 38 cal revolver as a back up . The thing is that Revolvers are not made for long periods of rapid sustained firing and will over heat and that is why Semi autos are used by military armed forces. But thats a exception to the rule and Revolvers are better in most cases. Its funny young man that you apparently dont own one.

    Great video as always! I have to say, I love your point about it could be any gun from any manufacturer. My most unreliable gun ever were my first 3 Glock 43s. Testament to my faith in Glock that my 4th one yes 4th one, I kept going, was amazing. Also I hear a lot about the lcp being unreliable, but I have put a TON of rounds through my OG lcp, my 2nd gen lcp, my lcp custom and my lcp2 with ONE malfunction that to this day I don’t know if it was the gun or the ammo and my lcps get covered in flour. My current favorite pistols are my 320s and 365s, however and this goes to any “swappable style” gun, I have one 365 slide that won’t function with one of my 5 fcus, but it works perfectly with the other 4. I also say any swappable style because, though it functions 100%, my g19 slide which is 100% identical to my g45 slide is a struggle to get on and off my g45 (one has a dot one has irons). Guns are a manufactured good and just like cars, or phones, or computers there are lemons

    I haven't, or don't, own a pile of firearms. 3 rifles, 3 pistols. May go to 4 rifles soon but that's likely it. None of the firearms I own have experienced failures or given any reliability issues. They shot when i squeeze the trigger, no matter which ammo I run in them. This even includes my SCCY pocket pistol. I suppose if I had a dozen pistols or rifles one of them may be iffy.

    Thats crazy about the GX4, I have a G3C thats been reliable with everything I've ran through it. I guess it really is all about luck. I'm now on my second DB380 and thats at the factory as we speak. If it runs after repair it will be getting traded in, if not itll be a very aggravating paper weight.

      @magnum_0710 10 місяців тому

      @homelessman3483 I have other options just wanted something with a little more capacity and got a good deal...I'm sure Taurus still puts out some lemons but the G series is known for being much better than their previous models. I trust mine but that's because it's been reliable. That being said my current EDC is a Ruger but I've carried the Taurus and I do have faith in its reliability. As of matter of fact I sold my Glock 42 and the G3C is what replaced it. Loved the 42 but it didn't work for pocket carry, figured if I was going to carry on my belt I wanted something in a better caliber with more rounds. The G3C just fit the bill and the leftover money got me enough ammo to put it to the test.

    It already becomes apparent by having a simple look at the ramp.
    Widening a bit the lateral edges of the ramp and polishing it usually solves the issue.

It also has a light strike where every once in a while it doesn't go boom when you pull the trigger. I don't trust if for daily carry anymore. Thinking about a Hellcat or CSX - the concept of a manual safety appeals to me.

      @@spook5756 for some guns maybe. If your new car had a break in period where it regularly failed to perform it's duties I think you'd want a different car. For me it's the same with anything. I'm a mechanic so if it does not work from the beginning it's engrained in me that there is an underlying issue or perhaps poor quality. Poly 80s are not fitted well built guns by a gunsmith so they "require" a "break in" to literally wear the parts together. And even then often times result in poor performance. In my experience building 7 different p80s. A properly well built gun is built well from the very beginning and runs from day one. Like a OEM Glock❤️ just my two cents nothing but respect.
