I've loved Nickelback since 2001 and never cared what anyone thinks. I'm glad you guys appreciate them too.
I echo your sentiments Stephen! Same here!
Regardless of what anyone says about them, Silver Side Up was a solid album
Can’t help hearing Animals from their 2005 album. Such a similar song structure. Not a bad thing 🤷🏻♂️
My sister and I have gone to every Nickelback show, standing against the barrier, in Houston since the beginning of time. They’ve always had a special place in my heart!
This feels like a classically Albertan party rock anthem 😂
Southern hard rock at its finest
Been a fan from the beginning and have nothing bad to say about them… Canadian Boyzzz 🇨🇦
"He's got that southern twang"... He's canadian 🤣
This is what I needed, some friends to jam out some nickelback with 🤘 keep it up boys 🔥
I Can’t hate on Nickelback when they just make fun music.
Music video just dropped too. Man this song slaps. They dont deserve the hate they get, but when you earn as much as them why would you care.
The country vibe to their lyrics that you note likely has a lot to do with the fact that their roots are in Alberta, Canada's "cowboy" province. Western Canada seems to produce some heavy, country-inspired rock going back to the '70s with bands like BTO. Rock on good ole Canadian boys! 🇨🇦
Great reaction lads as always. BIG missed opportunity to throw some Empire Strikes Back 'Wampa' graphics in at 4:27 haha.
Yeah I like them. I never cared that they got crapped on. I've been a Metal head since the mid 80s in high school listening to Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera, AIC, Slayer, Testament, Korn, stuff like that till this day, and luv alot of newer heavier bands like Trivium, Bullet, Lacuna Coil, Static X, Nevermore, Slipknot etc, but really too many too mention here. But Nickelback are a band that you can switch off and enjoy with the occasional heartfelt ballad like "Lullaby" which is their best song imho... very commercial, but are good musicians and if you want a reliable band to listen to thats something lighter but not Pop they are pretty good.
Super fun Nickleback track! Agree that they should have brought back that riff more but overall their classic sound
You guys would enjoy Nonpoints new single called Paper Tigers, they went back to their roots of heavy and catchy riffs
A few people who reacted to this thought there was going to be a breakdown right before the last chorus 😂😂😂
Been a Nickelback fan for years. Sure I like heavier stuff but they are as you say is catchy as f and easy to listen to. I won't be a sheep and follow the masses I like so many genres of music it's kinda ridiculous but I like what I like and I won't deny to fit in with one group of people.
6:46 Nickelback was the first Rock I ever listened to 15years ago.
Totally agree, that intro tease could've lead to like a heavier drop tunes riff instead of chord progression.
nickelback is 💜
Waited for this for a looooong time!
a southern rock heavy vibe.
I flew from Perth to Melbourne last time nickelback came here and I have no regrets at all
They always put on a hell of a show
I've seen them 4 times
BTW johnny you are atleast a 8/10 😊
highly suspect drop a new album. absolute banger 💣💥the song called: love like this and the sound 👌
The country vibes are probably there because on the part of Canada they come from. It definitely works 🤘🏼🤘🏼
That's right. They're from Alberta, cowboy country.
I always thought Nickelback was just Heavy Country lolz. Love to hear them try some met-core some time🤘🤘🤘🤘
Dont worry Nath "Ive got my truck, I got a beer" is damn near any popular country song. You were one blue jean and a pair of boots from a hit. But this was a solid rock sound. Have always enjoyed a good Nickleback song, alwasys saw them as like "Dad metal/Rock" haha.
PS, i agree with you guys at the end, very expected and just Nickleback-ish lol.
Chad Kroeger is wearing his James Hetfield skin suit for this one!
When Nickelback sounds more like Metallica than Metallica lol
You mentioned Nickelback having the southern twang to their sound that's cause they are from Alberta, Canada. Also if your looking for heavy Nickelback I recommend the album The Long Road by them. Bought the CD when I was younger that's all I listened to. Lol
Alberta, the Texas of Canada.
Lifelong Nickelback fan!!!
Didn’t mind it
If you listen closely they do use that beginning rift at the start of the chorus
Hate has become a trend. Seriously I don't understand the hate. Nickelback sounds great.
Welcome to 2022. Nickelback sounding heavier than Architects and Parkway.
Always loved Nickelback, never understood all the hate. They write great rock tunes, this song is great too!
A good solid rock (heavy) song. 👍Btw. You guys haven't yet reacted to the new Black Veil Brides song/video "Saviour II" from their upcoming The Mourning EP. 🔥🔥🔥
Coming soon
A really good song! Groovy and huge sounding 🤘🕺
Thos song is a pleasant surprise! Needs a breakdown though :D
Should check out the music video that was released today!!
I dont hate them, but they are not a band that had ever caught my attention. and their music reminds me of something youd hear on the jersey shore
plssss do Distance by Boys of Fall!
nickleback are awesome dont care what anyone says
"southern twang" probably from as far north as country goes eh bud
Memphis May Nickelback
They’ve done this before.
They teased ‘feed the machine’, and ‘edge of a revolution’. Great tracks but albums following were average.
I expect this will be the heaviest track on Get Rollin.
Used to be a huge Nickelback fan. Still follow them loosely. Sounds like their song ‘something in your mouth’.
I think when they were huge, they were considered heavy. Now what was heavy then is now the standard.
So after a few years break, for them to come back with something catchy but nothing special, is disappointing. Especially when the likes of Bring Me The Horizon, Falling in Reverse, Parkway Drive are around.
They lost me when they started doing songs with the likes of Flo Rida. I mean really?!
Once they’d turned pop, you need something special to gain that respect back.
On a positive note, they sound the same as they did 20 years ago. Not many bands can do that.
And they’re great live.
I just hope they’re are still considered relevant in the rock/metal world.
I also hope I eat my words and ‘get rollin’ ends up kicking ass, with one or two ballads.
We will see.
Don't fix what 's not broken! AC/DC never did!
I’m a fan of Nickelback. They’re a little cheesy but so what? The music itself bangs
"Southern"? LOL Nickelback is from Alberta Canada.
fyi that wasnt that far off of a fred durst impression. just not quite high and squeeky enough
First as fuck
I think I'm missing the point with this sort of music.......its not metal its kind of rock and its so generic and ready for the radio after 9pm at night......great vocals ect......but the song writing is so shit to my ears. Wish I could appreciate it. 😢 no disrespect intended..
Not my cup of tea... They did the job for a rock band not more neither less that's Nickelback... No breakdown or something. Meh ok for me
As someone who can't quite understand the Nickelback hatred...I absolutely detest this song! It makes no sense and sounds almost exactly like their songs 10 years ago...but just nowhere near as good. Never Again, Animals, Something In Your Mouth, etc were so much better than this. They aren't a bad band but this song is poop on a platter!
Weak chorus hook IMO
Just feels so generic... it isn't bad, but it's mediocre....
