Lane splitting is legal only in a single state in the United States. Only California directly permits lane splitting.
Several other states do not allow lane splitting but allow similar behaviors such as lane filtering. Arizona, Montana, and Utah permit lane filtering in a limited number of situations and Hawaii allows shoulder surfing. Some states do not address lane splitting explicitly, while many others have laws directly prohibiting the practice.
A lot of these bike riders were being idiots.
Yeah and I've only witnessed it in traffic.
Yep! They seem to have that same sense of entitlement where Iive.
Didnt look like the guy in the muddy truck was trying to hit them, just looked like he was trying to pass and they wouldnt let him. Seems like most people who ride in groups are just attention seeking trolls trying to annoy people.
Those are fixed cracks in the road.
up here in Canada we call that patchwork in the road "road snakes". its basically just a substance they fill cracks in the road with. we have hot summers and well below freezing winters so the roads crack and break up easily - so there's a lot of these temporary fixes everywhere.
In some states in the US, you can lane split. Any biker doing dumb stuff, I have no sympathy. 😂😂 I like turtles meme comes to mind. 😂😂😂
One state, CA.
@@striker1553how is it one state when 11 entire states have zero laws against lane splitting? You make zero sense
👍 more videos like this 👍 bikes, sports cars, street fights, etc
The first video was from California. Lane-splitting is legal there, and it's illegal to impede a biker in any manner while they are doing so. Four other states allow lane-splitting when the other traffic is stopped. In those states the biker can't exceed 10 MPH, except Arizona where it's 15 MPH. Another state, Hawaii, allows bikers to pass on the shoulder if the other traffic is stopped and they are also limited to 10 MPH.
11:52 I think they do that for traction on roads that might experience hazardous conditions. There was a short steep street where I grew up, and when they repaved it they cut and tared those style lines in the road.
1:52 there are plenty of places in the US where that is perfectly legal
As a matter of fact in California if there's a traffic jam and there's a biker trying to get through between the cars... You are legally required to make way for him
The idea is there's so much traffic in California, if you can get more people Lane splitting on bikes, then they're not sitting still in a car making the traffic jam worse.
There are bikers in Los Angeles that ever since they made it legal to do that, they will drive on the highway at 5:00 p.m., knowing, they won't have to sit for even 30 seconds, because even if all the cars are at a dead stop, there's room between them
"plenty of places" = only one state.
They break the side mirrors because assault is a much more serious crime(felony) than destruction of private property(misdemeanor)
Depends on the state but in California lane splitting is legal up to 30 miles an hour. So in that first video, that biker going between the cars could be legal in his state.
Lane splitting is illegal in Australia
Talk about good timing i just slid across the road going 40mph on my motorcycle lol
Was not expecting this 😂
the story about dazs friend tom HAHA thats awesome
You can lane spit in the US im surprised more people don't understand that
The road they made fun of is one the better highways for rural US. At least it's patched
"when bikers ride like assholes and behave the same way"
Refusing a ride from an underage girl and revving at birds and heading to one of your buddies who crashed reprimanding someone on their phone while driving telling someone off for nearly killing you because they aren’t paying attention, helping a turtle. Last time i checked more than half of the videos aren’t even close to bikers being assholes.
Next time watch the video before commenting ignorantly
Sorry, but most bikers act and drive like clowns. I should say, this applies more to people driving crotch rockets, not cruisers. Don't get me wrong, they're a BLAST to drive, although I've only driven an old Harley and a newer Yamaha R6.
I'm 35yrs old so it's not like, "oh, it's just a small percentage of them who ruin it for the rest of us."
Nah, it's a HUGE percentage in my opinion. A lot of them also openly admit that they aren't afraid of the cops, because most cops won't even bother to chase them. They can't catch them...until they crash. Ask any of your nurse or doctor friends what they call bikers. "Organ donors"
The Yamaha R1 for example. Pretty common and popular bike. Do you know how crazy it is to have 200hp on a bike that weighs 450lbs?
As many laws as they break, they need to keep their mouths shut.
💯
Don't matter what vehicle your in, everyone has the capacity to be a knob head
😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱🏍️
Bikers in my area ride like they own the roads. Houston is full of these privileged clowns.
Its legal in the uk to go between stopped traffic
