Fire can't go under or around a car when it's parked in front of a hydrant. The hose needs to be straight to prevent kinking. Engines have been known to shove cars off hydrants if they're parked in such a way they can't get a straight shot - if a fire engine says your car is moving it's moving.
Yeah, they weren't doing it to be petty, it's a necessity. (can't say the same for some of the others in this video, like the handicap parking spot guy)
Even if, this helps much better than asking that car to move first. They learned something that day. I drove a garbage trucks trough the city, I also had to make some space. People just don't care anymore.
I have known firemen, and they have great stories of having to punch the windows out of cars to do that! and then what happens if the owner happens to come out at time. So its been like 2 months since Daz said he had some surprise guests to host with you two? where are they? what happened? And if your neighbor with the wheel chair issue wanted to be a good person, he would then move the car onto the sidewalk to let traffic go by if he is going inside.
I went to a 7/11 once and someone parked their BICYCLE between TWO spots reserved for cars. I literally got out of my car and leaned it up against the wall of the store.
As far as the firehose.... YES, they do that in America! There IS a really good reason though. With the car parked so close to the hydrant, if you tried to put the hose over or under the car, there's a really good chance it would kink right at the hydrant. You get a fine/Ticket, and you can be Insurance doesn't cover it. They are lucky there wasnt a small leak which filled the inside of the car with water. I've seen that done before!
The shaving cream one they were just mad he parked in front of their house. He wasn’t blocking anything. The fact it was a range rover probably had more to do with the vandalism than the parking
so many these do that in uk it hit and run or criminal damage and criminal damage that holds sentence of max 10 years in jail so depending what it is you can get in a lot trouble. or hit and run 5-10 points or could be sent to prison for up to 26 weeks. The fine imposed by the Court could be up to £5,000. so think again it only takes a dash cam to catch you and if police think its caught on your camera they can take it to stop evidence going if you don't give them a copy on request of a crime. yes don't park wrong but if you cannot fit sit with horn on a wait or call the cops and they remove obstruction. finally from met police our first advice would be to ask them politely to move it. After all, they may not be aware they're causing a problem. However, do not take the law into your own hands by intervening, such as making physical threats or attempting to move the vehicle yourself. you move a car like that white pickup did you are causing damage and it be on to to pay up, that should been left to who operates the car park they have there own contract with tow company and they have insurance. you can land i a lot bother in uk if you try many these esp these days as so many cameras
Former Lieutenant of a Fire Department here until I switched to law enforcement, aka the dark side. The law states you can't block a fire hydrant, and you can't kink your hoses nor risk a idiot running them over. That's why we go through car window, and it's also a 🖕U to the owner. I used to have the guys fill the car up to the windows with water, too, as an extra 🖕🖕U.
America goes way overboard pandering to the handicapped, most of the best parking spots are reserved in front of almost all businesses for handicapped, its always 6 to 10 spaces, there’s never that many handicapped people parking in a lot at the same time, so the rest of us “losers” gotta park far away and walk past all the unused handicapped spaces all the time. it gets old after a while.
Its legal for firefighters to break car windows if it interferes with access to a fire hydrant.

"Why you blocking the bike lane bro?"
Truck driver shuts door "Because it's how I capture my victims." ☠

Fireman here. The hose can't be kinked so they have to go through the windows, And not around or under it,

Yup. If it's parked wrong that ya'll can't get a straight shot you'll move the car with an engine. Either way you're getting a straight shot.

Fire hydrants are in fire zones, you can't park in those ever.

Yes , firetrucks are legally allowed to do that
Well, it's not the fire trucks that are legally allowed to do that, it's the firemen.
