I went with my dad and I chose this as a birthday present from Coopers' toy shop in Rotherham. I was so excited. After, he parked up round the corner and left me in his land rover, for what seemed like hours. I couldn't resist opening the box. From memory I definitely damaged the Sea Wolf and he was very cross with me. The damage can't have been that bad as I had going up and down in the bath! Great job Dave!
Brasso & creamy furniture polish combined is brilliant for polishing clear perspex and other plastic parts like helmets, e.g. Red Devil. Gives a high sheen and polishes out light marks/scratches. Be careful not to polish out any painted decal/wordings. Works like a treat on Space Explorer bubble helmets and Astronaut visors. Love the videos and you ingenuity!
Did you ever think of a solution for the hinge repair? That‘s the problem I have to tackle with mine. I‘m so thankful for this channel otherwise my toys would just be sitting in a box. It inspires me to get them out to make them display worthy.
These days I would most likely make something out of Styrene as you will see me do in other videos. It would be a pretty simple shape to make. Then just paint it to match. Cheers
I print my own water decals with a ink jet, if you get a can of spray varnish it should be enough to make them waterproof :) id rather you didn't dunk that in water though after all the work you put into it, great job as always
I have a UV/blacklight which I have used with retrobrite to de-yellow plastics. I live in NI which gets less sunlight! It’s a desk lamp from B&Q with the bulb removed and a UV bulb fitted. Line a suitably sized tank with shiny foil to help reflect the light in the tank.
How about a UV(A) light bulb for whitening plastics indoors in the winter? Or a second hand face tanning lamp? I'd imagine you'd get a fairly consistent source of UV.
+The Restoration of Dr Who I doubt it. If they would scratch the plastic, imagine what they would do to your teeth! These are soft well used toothbrushes.
i don't think that the pump is for the Action Man series for the AT on the pump denotes the mid 60s series in the US of adventure team but i may be wrong for the action team had a submarine and the molds were sent to the UK for the action man series.
+KleverStudios That is how this works. The main body fills up with water soaking everything. To make it float you fill the dome with air. I'm sure it's the reason for many rusty action man dolls.
Congratulations on your completed model! it's been a joy to watch. Have you ever tried the old toy car restoration trick of using acrylic floor lacquer to repair clear plastic parts? ua-cam.com/video/RdnDewYsNq8/v-deo.html

Fantastic! Thanks for the journey back to my childhood, blue peter and action man! Great channel 😀
Love all 3 videos on this restoration of the sea wolf. I really appreciate your time to make the videos.
Fantastic job Dave. Found the fix on the front section and the telescope particularly innovative.
Absolutely fantastic, as usual! Have recently acquired a Sea Wolf so this 3-parter will prove invaluable. Thanks a lot.
Enjoy!
The sailor part of this project was great, but this came out amazing. Very well done.
+chris abcdef Thanks. It has been fun. To fix all of them. A great challenge.

Another great repair! 👍🏼

Awesome! Looks great
Outstanding job as always! 😎👍🏼
And try UV LED strip lights to counteract cloudy winters 😉
a good job well done Dave
THIS is what I have been waiting for :)
I think that the camera/grab mount is actually threaded, if you look closely. Great job, though. I always wanted one of these.
Hi ToyPolloi,
A very great and fun ActionMan vehicle to own. I'm glad its completed!
Have you tested it outdoors? A future video?

Another great job. Almost a shame you had that connector donated, loved your bottle top fix.
+grimmyx22 I still have it. I just wanted to show the ship as it should be.
Fair do's. It was a good fix tho.
+grimmyx22 It was. I was really pleased how well it worked out. A Blue Peter moment.
That and sticky-back plastic!
Parabéns pelo vídeo!
The dome section could also be zipped into the front of your snorkel jacket hood to provide a snowball proof face mask
That's cool
SEA WOLF WAS COOL AM AND JOE TOY!

+Liofa That does work, but I don't have one. So will wait.
She's seaworthy! All aboard!
I wonder, can you de-yellow by putting it under a tanning bed?
Can/could you de yellow the plastic with an UV/solar light ?
Did you ever come across a titanic ship toy ?? , i seen a few , but they are always broken . Mike Espo..
Can't using a tooth brush scratch the surface of plastics?
+The Restoration of Dr Who I doubt it. If they would scratch the plastic, imagine what they would do to your teeth! These are soft well used toothbrushes.
Toy Polloi well if anything they'd have to be microscopic.
We're can I get the rubber bungs for cotpit and pump
to stop the stickers from running just pray them with acrilic varnish
i don't think that the pump is for the Action Man series for the AT on the pump denotes the mid 60s series in the US of adventure team but i may be wrong for the action team had a submarine and the molds were sent to the UK for the action man series.
+victor van grim gamming This is the correct pump. I have three of them all the same. But the toy was originally a good toy. In white.
Would you actually put this underwater? Wouldn't it just flood and get you Action Man wet?
+KleverStudios That is how this works. The main body fills up with water soaking everything. To make it float you fill the dome with air. I'm sure it's the reason for many rusty action man dolls.
Toy Polloi Oh, that's not smart..
@@toypolloi I played with mine in our swimming pool. This is why all mine and my brothers Joes started losing their hair.
Also couldn't you laminate the stickers?
+The Restoration of Dr Who Maybe if you had a laminator. I don't.
Toy Polloi Ah alright. Maybe you could ask someone you know and borrow it? Was just a thought.
i de-yellow with a full spectrum bulb. i dont put the items outside. i leave them in my garage. it is how i deyellowed the at-st
+Richard Ricketts If I had one I would. But I don't so I am happy to wait until the summer. No rush.
First. ;-)
You clearly haven't watched it, so no points from me :D
Toy Polloi but NOW
