Thank you for posting. I live in Mills Branch and my house is on a small hill. I will keep my neighbors in my prayers. Kingwood is so beautiful, I could not think of any other better place to live.

This was yesterday. Sunday has gotten significantly deeper. The West Lake Houston Bridge shown a couple of times in the video is closed. The restaurants shown along the river on West Lake Houston Road in Kingwood are not accessible. Much more of the I-69 access road is closed

Do you have drone footage from Hurricane Harvey in Kingwood??

Chad Williams - No, I do not. The winds are still high, and it'd be a bad idea to launch while first responders are still identifying people to rescue.

No doubt we've had rain, but I personally feel that this area might have handled it, if we had not had so much development. And that would be County and City notion to make Houston bigger and better. Now, I have come up with an additional theory as well. I believe the massive death of trees during the 2011 drought had a mammoth effect on the run off in this part of the county. One tree contains about 400 gallons of water during a rainfall I'm told. With 95% of those dead trees on the ground now and with the denuding development and the unprecedented loss of trees during the drought, the rate of runoff increased catastrophically. To further complicate things, in figuring out why the Memorial Day flood was so bad, .... (besides the amount of rainfall and increased runoff, which caused bank collapsing, sending huge trees down stream, as well as all those dead trees and logs that had been cut the last 5 years), they stacked up against not only our bridge at Cypresswood Dr./Cypress Creek, which made it back-up more and flood me 4 ft. deeper than the April 18 flood, but the San Jacinto bridges (which there are 3 car bridges, one RR track bridge (2:32 on video) and on down West Lake Houston bridge) were totally blocked with debris according to eye witnesses. There were intelligent people that were worried the bridges were going to collapse from the interference of the debris. Consequently, that area backed up so much and caused unprecedented flooding all upstream in Spring, Kingwood and Humble. They had to evac people from the 2nd floor of the two hotels that are located on the W. feeder road just south of Townsend drive in Humble, yet property at the same level on the East side avoided being flooded. Uh-oh... does that sound like the blockage of debris had something to do with that. Costco cut hundreds of acres of natural spongy forest to develop that NW corner by the bridge. (Look at upper right corner of video at 1:04 and you can see it). Why do we keep letting this happen??? Someone has to put their foot down on the massive de-foresting that is happening here. One other thought.... there was an incredible amount of white sugar sand that was brought down the rivers on the April 18 flood, that sand had to have silted into the bed of the San Jac, making it even more shallow and impossible to carry off the amount of water it should have.

Not from me, at any rate. Texas has laws against flying over critical infrastructure like dams, power plants, etc without express permission.
