Hello team coco!
I do!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂000
Me once a week
When a girl playing this song on a harp in the woods, and a deer comes up to her like she's a Disney Princess,
I have to come here yet again.
Who else has to come back every couple months to listen to this song
How about every day?
so try this one aswell ua-cam.com/video/q_BJaM-UrXc/v-deo.html
Every day
Me starting from now
Ummm... Every day
Who's here in 2024?
Here
Right now baby ❤❤

🇧🇷
Love this song. It's timeless and ageless.
Anyone in 2024? Can't leave this song.
Yep, every so often I come back here to listen with a pair of Studio headphones. Its magnificent.
I’m here yet again. Something about this performance gives me chills every single time!!!
Almost every day I listen to this.
Великолепно, браво 👏👏👏 (март 2024)
It’s my hyper fixation song for the moment. It’s on repeat. I can’t get enough of it.
I got cancer. Life may go on. But every single moment is more precious than before. And this song, this interpretation by Disturbed, makes me feel every single second. I am grateful that I am human, that I belong to people and there are artists like this who make me feel life more intensely than ever before.
❤
🥰🥰🥰full support and love from Paris, France
Me too (cancer)
This performance leads me to a better place. Because I am facing my own mortality. At least you may have a chance to recover, I don't. Peace be upon you.
I pray you kick the crap out of cancer. I'll be thinking about your comment every day from here on out. You'll win.... 🙏
Nobody in that audience were aware they were about to witness such greatness.

Could you imagine getting tickets for the Conan show that day and being like, “ oh goodness a metal band is performing”, and then getting this once in a lifetime live performance? What luck! This was a masterpiece!
No kidding. Blow your mind!
I imagine most of the people in the audience were there to see Disturbed. Whenever a popular band plays on a talk show, the tickets go almost instantly since they are free.
I think it wouldn't be far off to say this is possibly the best live performance ever.
Once in a lifetime. I literally can’t stop crying
I keep burst out crying. This is amazing I don’t even mean to it just keeps happening. Crowd goes wild😊
Anyone else come here regularly just to watch David sing? No? Just me?? Song is immaculate, I love it, listen to it literally every day... But the sparkle in David's eyes as he sings has me in a chokehold 😂 mmm 🤤🩵
*The song is beautiful, certainly, but no, the song is not actually "immaculate". The vocals here are highly AutoTuned.*
@@onceIhadalove And?? He was also sick with the Flu and had a fever of 102° AND still handled his business. Something I'm sure you couldn't do on your best day 😁🤷 carry on!!
Sharply altered vocals through digital formatting is commonplace. Be nice.
@@Sweet.Creature
@@onceIhadaloveThis is not sharply altered. Autotune won't preserve 'grit', which you hear several times in his performance.
This rendition is not a performance…it’s an experience.
People who came here who haven't listened to his band and got hooked on his voice be like wow I'm gonna go check out Disturbed. Seconds later... "Ooh wah ah ah ah!"
Honesto Aquino I've heard many of Disturbed's songs before but this comment just made me die laughing.
HAHAHAH. Yout got me here bro :D

Same. I've heard that ooh wah ah ah ah before but I didn't know it was Disturbed but now I do.

No matter how long, I always come back to see this video. One of the best live performances ever in TV history
except it wasnt fully live
@@gromold1640well it was but it wasn’t
im 20, one of those best performances oat
Agree
What about that time Bobby Bushay came back at halftime and won us the Bourbon Bowl !??
I honestly think this is the best live performance of any song ever. They took an awesome, iconic song and made it their own. Which is arguably better than the original.😮 Then David laid down one of the purest, cleanest, best controlled, most impactful vocal performances there has ever been. On a scale of 1 to 10 this is hands down a 100!❤
I agree totally… almost always they’re sped up or slowed. This is just perfection
I think Queen live at Wembley stadium in 1986 is most likely the best ever live perfromance of any songs, and as far as I know also the most seen ever, the back story of why and everything is also kinda deep and theres a lot of information about it, but I dont disagree that this is very well done
It took Paul to write those epic words. But S&G could never do this with those lyrics.
I agree this has no comparison it is haunting flawless and beautiful.💕
definitely better than the original! simon and garfunkle must be so thrilled though
I cannot express enough how much this version of the song has touched me. From the first note, I was captivated by the emotion and raw talent of the artist. Every time I listen to it, I am brought to tears and feel a deep connection to the lyrics.
The artist's voice is simply breathtaking. It is filled with so much passion and depth, you can feel every word they sing. The way they hit every note flawlessly gives me chills and leaves me in awe. It's evident that they have poured their heart and soul into this performance.
Not only is the vocals outstanding, but the arrangement of the song is also incredible. The instrumental accompaniment perfectly complements the artist's voice, creating a beautiful harmony. The use of different instruments and the subtle variations in tempo add layers to the song, making it even more powerful.
But what truly sets this version apart from others is the emotion behind it. You can tell that the artist has a personal connection to the song and has poured their own experiences into it. It's as if they are singing directly to you, and you can feel their pain, joy, and everything in between.
I've listened to many versions of this song, but none have moved me as much as this one. It's a masterpiece that I keep coming back to again and again. It's a song that I will never get tired of and will always hold a special place in my heart.
In conclusion, this is by far the best version of this song I have ever heard. It's a beautiful and emotional performance that never fails to bring tears to my eyes. I highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates soulful and heartfelt music. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.
First time I listened to this a few years ago, during Covid, I was completely caught off guard. I burst into tears unexpectedly at the end. I think David's voice connects to the deep sense of anger that just about all people feel, surrounding not feeling loved, valued, and respected. I don't think I can recall any other song that has brought me to tears upon first listen. His voice has unbelievable power, and his ability to take it to a scream ("and the people bowed and PRAYYYED")... there might not be any other human being who can do what he does right there. Anyway glad you enjoyed, best vocal I have ever heard, beyond a doubt.
You review of this song was absolutely spot on sir
The amazing thing is he had a 103 degree fever and the flu when he performed this, just incredible
I've never been a fan of Disturbed, but you'd be an idiot to not realize his voice is gold.
+Randy Lott
Exactly. But I'm digging them more and more.
autotune
GHØST don't think so.
I can hear a few notes out of tune, but most of it is very accurate. No evidence of auto-tune.
+GHØST You can tell that isn't the case lol
My son died 11/5/2016, About 2 months ago. Before he died he had come up the stairs from his man cave to tell me I had to listen to this song. I was watching t.v. so i kind of put him off. Never to be dismissed I went to the computer to listen and watch Disturbed performance on Conan.I was speechless, he was amazing. I grew up with Simon and Garfunkel's version. I love their version but this version from Disturbed leaves me speechless. Hate to say so,however I had to tell Chris he was right. This was an awesome rendition.Much more emotional than Simon and Garfunkel 's version.Of course he said he knew he was right. I love playing this . Makes me remember my son. Thanks
What a nice story to remember him by and even better when this song is involved.. And from one mother to another, I'm crying for your loss... I could never imagine the pain of losing one of my sons, it would totally devastate me and it would be the hardest thing I'd ever have to go through and try to carry on from that... Thank you for your story, I will hug my sons EKSTRA hard tonight!
Thank you for even noticing my post. I thank you for your kind words.
It's a post worth noticing...
Thanks again. I find that I play this every day, sometimes more than once. I just love his voice . It touches my soul. He is amazing.
Linda, I've just come back to this song again a month after I first heard it. I'm so sorry for the loss of your son. I can't imagine your pain. But I understand what you love about this song...me too! When I first heard it I had to replay it over and over! I prefer it to the original. How awesome that you have the memory of your son introducing you to this singer and his version of the song :)
Disturbed’s “Sound of Silence,” is not only the first Conan O’Brien performance to reach 100 million views, but the most viewed clip on Conan’s UA-cam channel to date. (by Forbes)
Never thought anyone could sing this better than Simon and Garfunkel. But Disturbed gave it a fresh edge -- a different take to the message of the song's lyrics. Absolutely loved this version!
this is a solid punch in the face to those who say this song was autotuned!!
Nah lol, this isn't r&b or that whole type of junk.
I can hear the autotune here. Pretty much everytime he reaches higher notes. 1:44 or even more at 2:09 for example.
Oh really? It's autotuned? is that why his voice cracks in a few different spots?
You do realize some people just know how to sing right? Not everything has to be autotuned.
I saw them live at Ozzfest..they sounded the same..no autotune..
I saw a live video from some festival and yeah, it sounded fine there. Unlike this video.
Does anybody else think that this performance on Conan is actually better than the music video? Or is it just me....
eh, the music video to me is more powerful sounding.
he's not perfectly in tune in this video, also singing higher, to me the video is way better..
There are definitely differences between the videos but I guess for me the full orchestra behind him just makes it a lot more powerful.... totally preference though both versions are great
Yes! It is the only version I play and play and play . . .
The orchestra performing behind him adds a whole new dimension for me. Plus a few of the violinists are pretty cute ;-)
It’s almost unbelievable, that this song was performed live.
How can you possibly top this performance.
Literally out of this world.
Some other worldly force took over David.
Chills!!
I could listen to this on an eternal loop and never get tired of it. The original was a polite warning and this is the angry response to us not listening to the warning.

You can't really base it off of something like this since it will have been edited to perfect any imperfections before being broadcasted. But he is an amazing singer live, check out live performances of them at their own gigs. He's nearly impeccable!
7 Years, and this performance still brings tears to my eyes and renders me speechless.

I remember watching this and the goosebumps - totally not expecting this. This was truly a special moment
Literally one of the best covers ever performed.
Seriously, Disturbed needs to do more songs like this one. Not everything has to be a fast paced scream fest, sometimes we need a slow yet powerful song to inspire, give pause, or reflection.
I say this without irony... this performance alone should qualify them for the rock and roll hall of fame... period. This is one of the 5 best live performances in recorded history
Agreed.

This is much natural and smoother than the studio version
David Draiman embodies true artistry with a vocal range that effortlessly spans from high to low, reaching unparalleled levels of skill. In an era where many artists rely on auto-tuning in the studio, Draiman stands out by delivering crystal-clear vocals that rival, if not surpass, the quality of their studio recorded soundtracks. Most singers sound half as good as their studio soundtracks when Live.
I heard a lot of auto-tune during certain pieces of this song. I was disappointed with that. I don’t notice it on the album version like I do with this live version.
If this doesn't play at my funeral, I'm not gonna die.

Could not have said it better. This is the version I prefer. And it breaks and carries my heart all at once.
Where? On nuts?
Every time I hear this version of this great song I can't help but tear up. This performance should be sent into space to serve as a record to the rest of the universe of what artistic greatness we humans are capable of. I say that only half jokingly. Absolutely brilliant.
It's probably been over a decade or more but that is still the most significant thing I've ever seen in my life

I don't know what it is about this song but it's so powerful that it's so hard to put into words how breathtaking this guy is, wow just wow.
I've heard some covers in my time but this, its beats all.
The range of his voice is unbelievable. I'm 79 and always loved the original. But this beats it . Just discovered him today.
Not sure I'd say it "beats" the original Simon and Garfunkel classic. Different times, different moods, similar emotional hits they convey. Pentatonix also made a remote of this song recently, and it itself transforms the song into a more vibrant, upbeat rendition that evokes similar emotions. Music always is transformative, able to be molded and shaped in different ways to speak to different people.
There is not much range there at all. Guy seems like a total phony, and a poor singer.
@@chris1pdx Paul Simon said it's David's song now.

He has background in opera. His voice is insane.
The fact that the audience was completely silent until after the very last sound of the orchestra, says how much respect they had for this performance.
They're told not to clap until the big electric sign offscreen says "applause" in order to not ruin the video footage for their producers.
Surely they were IN AWE. I WAS
He really shows his technical composure in this version 100% he was soft when needed and the rasp was perfectly on point and we all felt it 🙌

Diane Davis here, I'm 75 and was 16 when Paul Simon wrote this, and he and Art Garfunkel released this classic.
David Draiman took their classic and completely changed it up to such a POWERFUL and EMOTIONAL 😂 rendition and it is just as RELIVANT now as it was in the 60's if not more so at this moment, today, May 2, 2024! I came across Dan Vasc' video "Amazing Grace" and the original video of Disturbed' "The Sound of Silence". I had no idea who Dan Vasc was or the band Disturbed was and came across both of these videos purely by chance. I like to think that my spirit guides 🙏 led me to both of them.
It's taken me five days of watching the many different channels and seeing all of their reactions to both their original video and their live performance on Conan before stumbling across this actual Conan on set video. I just had to add it to my collection of Disturbed, David Draiman "The Sound of Silence" Video.

Whoever designed the lighting for that performance was brilliant, slowly lifting the lights as instruments came into play, the brightening of the entire stage as the music built to the crescendo. I wonder if Disturbed brought their own lighting engineer in or if Conan's studio team is that good.
I'm pretty sure it's Distubed's team
This is the single greatest live performance I've ever seen in my life.

Cant stop watching this one!! David Draiman is AWESOME!!!!!!!❤❤ LOVE THIS MAN!!!
I dont care what anyone says. This is the best cover of simon and Garfunkel's song. Brings tears to my eyes.
I wish there was a way for me to hear this song again for the first time.
I cried the first time
I heard this song for the first time as the soundtrack to fireworks at night. It was truly amazing
Bobby C I hear it the first time every time. Greatness!❤
@@zelmaanizan2421 me to i get goosebumps or tear up everytime
My jaw progressively dropped the further in I went.
I have heard this song for almost 50 years and this version is by far my favourite. He has captured the quiet anger and despair the lyrics convey. That is something the Simon and Garfunkel version did not have. It was beautiful as well, but without the raw but barely perceivable emotion that David Draiman brings to the words, it is just another great song.
This version could easily become the definitive version, making it every bit as powerful as The Beatles Yesterday or Tim Buckley's piano version of Hallelujah. Nothing else is quite like this amazing work of art.
The audience knew it and demonstrated their appreciation by the tiny silence which followed the last note. That is a sign of respect that few singers and musicians get today.
I disagree. I don't like this version at all, I think it loses the thing that made the original great. It seems cliche and overproduced.
Ron Roffel totally agree with you
*Respect*
Ron Roffel i couldn't agree more.
respect i agree allot
His voice always gives me goosebumps. With him being sick, he gave his all there and it showed. What a voice.
I remember when this aired. It gave me chills and still does. This version is sooo much better than the version they official released.
I watched this live and my dad was in the kitchen making a snack and heard it and came in and we both just sat there as quietly as humanly possible while this man crafted perfection.
It REALLY grabs you....I'm 65 and love this version....my youngest son is 39 and he gets all teary over it.....great how music can bring generations together!
I had the great luck of also catching this live on his show... and it was really an EXPERIENCE.
How was that snack though
How old were you?
He gets the entire emotion of the song exactly right. There are very few remakes that rival the original David blew past it and made it his own. The only one that I can think to rival this is Johnny Cash's remake of 9 Inch Nails.
His voice is astonishing.
ikr so soothing
visit philippines..ul see on sum1 singing this song too..just like this..
post the youtube of it!!
zaldy tagoc not really the same watching one of you lady boys doing it though ...... is it ?
Gary Bootland .
The raw power of his voice is just amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everything i see about Disturbed from how they treat folks at gigs to pure raw talent. Love em more and more each time
Doesn't matter if you prefer the original to new or not, David killed it in this live performance. Something not very many bands do these days...
Absolutely right. I've been an S & G fan since I was in short pants, and this cover blew my doors off.
Disturbed slow songs
Especially a song like this which is notoriously difficult. An amazing performance. I am sure Simon and Garfunkel are impressed.
+Dion Ware Paul Simon certainly was. After seeing this very performance he said “Really powerful performance on Conan the other day. First time I’d seen you do it live. Nice. Thanks.”
The perfect way of slowly wooing the masses towards liking death metal \m/
Conan was so hyped to introduce them because he would’ve heard this performance before anyone during soundcheck. He knew what was coming.
He knew what was coming was a beautiful masterpiece we call a song
I would've been crying bc I do every damn time I hear this. Amazing
nope .. he was just being conan ... it was pre recorded, wasn't infront of live audience .. but conan had to act infront of cameras.
@@HMABH the audience was very much there when this was performed.
QA Zsa@
The night I found Disturbed and was hooked. David’s range just killed it. To see the humility of them for 8 years is a great thing. Awesome!!!!
I was just assaulted…..this performance kicked my ass and made me cry……once in a lifetime ! This is one of those moments you don’t get to experience very often. Thank Disturbed!
This is one of the most stunning, soulful, intense and vocally flawless performances I've ever experienced.
He had a cold when he performed too. Insane that he could still belt out this performance with how sick he was
When i hear this song it makes me cry because he sounds like my father when he would sing. My dad had a great voice every time he would sing in public it would rise the roof because it would fill the air and you could feel it vibrating all around you filling the air.
In terms of covers, this is special. They covered what and made it what now? Hall of fame definately. Just for one thing is enough if it's THIS good. :)
Blows me away how well David did being sick with a fever
Absolutely 💯
Disturbed must have massive balls to have covered a song this beloved, and they did a great job.
It helps that they are also very skilled artists.
i totally agree with you. i get goose bumps when i hear this.
Ok guys don’t criticize me. I’m blown down by this cover. It took me way too many years to discover this version and band. It’s stuck in my head (brain). The original was one of my favorites, until I heard this beautiful voices and arrangement. Now I can’t get enough, searching the vast hole of UA-cam to hear more music and interviews from these musicians. God has blessed you (all) with a powerful gift that brings me to tears. Love you ❤️
Not sure how i'm only just discovering this recently, but i cannot stop playing it on repeat!
The audience was so mesmerized by this performance that you didn't hear one applause until the music was completely through. This is perhaps the greatest cover performance I have ever heard.
They seemed to momentarily be stunned into silence. I don't like the S & G version, but this is AWESOME!
absolutely...have been looking for it....more passion, power ..love it.
Here in Germany, they would have clapped off beat of course, starting from the first beep of music :D
It’s awesome. If you are looking for another fantastic cover I would recommend Florence and the Machine’s cover of Times Like These by the Foo Fighters on the Main Stage at Glastonbury in 2017. It’s insane
Watching the other clips where voice instructors listen to him to do critiques... One of them gets so emotional it chokes her up. And I completely understand where she was coming from.
Close your eyes and listen and BAM.
His voice is like chiselled marble, and the background of the orchestra was perfect. This might be the greatest cover ever, just exceeds anything I've ever heard
"His voice is like chiselled marble" is absolutely the most fantastic description of this guy's voice, spot on!
You said that perfectly. He’s honestly magnificent
they took his balls so we could experience this, just so you know.
This, Hurt by Cash, and The Man who Sold the World by Nirvana are the only covers I can think of that take an already great song and make it even more legendary.
this is the greatest cover ever
I need to hear this EVERY SINGLE DAY....and I will. Thank you.
Dave has several interviews on YT. It's obvious how intelligent he is. He's also very active in removing the stigma of mental health issues.
He himself has dealt with debilitating depression with suicidal ideologies.
Their song Inside The Fire (Devon) is about his real life girlfriend who committed suicide at age 16.
This performance is one that gives me the feels EVERY TIME I watch it. - This is brilliance!
so weird THIS is the most viewed video on Conan's channel
aldown i was thinking just the same...
aldown because its a song...quit obvious
Have you heard the song? It makes sense to me. So bloody good.
aldown I've watched it several times! Love his voice!
I tend to watch it most days since my son told me about it. Only complaint I have is that it's not captioned, but I know this song from my childhood and can follow along. Oh, I am also total deaf. I get the music by vibrations and not sound, so it's truly silence for me.
My dog watched this. He is now a wolf.
I'm reporting you for making me laugh too hard
😅😂😅
My two cats listened to this (gray with darker stripes and spots and an orange striped kitten).... I now have a snow leopard and a tiger on my couch... this song can do things man.
😂lol
that is the best way to describe this performance
I listen to this song around 5 times a day. And last thing at night before I settle down. It was a chance encounter that I heard this song on Utube whilst listening to Simon and Garfunkel.
