Harvest Right recommends the Black Forest brand of gummy bears.
Did you use the regular or organic kind?
I tried gummy bears with a single tray of Skittles. They're still chewy? Do the stop being chewy at any point?

If they were still soft, I'd think they just need more time. I love my machine, but learned early on to add time. I usually add additional dry time at the beginning, but end up getting so busy that I also add time at the end. LOL, that machine serves ME, I don't serve it! Thanks so much for subscribing!
Well hello PP - a lot to unpack there. They say old people refuse to change. LOL I don't believe them.
I haven't done any candy loads, just fruits, that's candy enough. You say you had a frost? That's a bit early isn't it? A few weeks ago we had a stretch above 115 F and it's cooled down to around 105-108 F this week. My garden has suffered from the heat and pretty much burned up - I call it a half fail for this year. I'll plant some fall crops in a few weeks and see if I can get a second harvest. I didn't get my sun shades up so everything suffered. I'll have to do better if I want to be a farmer.
Finally got around to doing a batch of ham and navy bean soup. It should finish this afternoon. I never slow down with my freeze dryer - I try to have something going all the time.
I discovered a healthy snack you may want to try. I use my Mandolin to slice potato's very thin - blanch them - cool them - load onto the trays and salt them generously and then dry them. Makes great potato chips with out the fatting oils. My grandkids love them and so does my wife. They are fragile so handle them gently.
I had a fail trying to do some chocolate ice cream for the kids - it swelled up like a sponge and crumbled too easily. What do you think - too much sugar? Try a better brand?
Still off work from hand surgery - I'll finish therapy and return to work in early November. It's been good to take the summer off and dodge the heat.
Have you noticed food prices on the rise? It's becoming a concern here with everyone. And I so hate wearing that stupid mask when I go anywhere. I'm convinced this will all settle down after the election and Trump wins again. The Dems will just have to try another way to get rid of him. Not working out for them so far.

Has a President ever served in office while in prison? Cause he has been indicted. Trump that is. I don't like current pres but if I had to choose between the two I would stick with Joe.
