Freeze drying gummy worms

- Something fun. FUn to eat and make. People love them! I am just taking regular gummy worms and putting the in my freeze dryer. The Result is fun to make and fun to share!
I've always loved freez dried ice cream Amazing we used to have someone from the news in elementary school and brought space freeze dried ice cream.
You gotta try peeps for Easter I would be really curious to see how they come out. Ty for sharing
I actually had some sitting around for that purpose. I got sidetracked and forgot about them. I will definitely do those soon, even though Easter is over.
how expensive is that freeze-dryer?
I believe it was like 3200 at the time. see current prices on their website at Harvestright.com ( i think it is the website. I am not affiliated with them. i just love the product. ) I have a medium freeze dryer. At the bottom of their home page, they have a financing link where they used to offer a layaway program. FYI.
I PLAN to get a large freeze dryer in a few years.
Also, mine came with almost everything I needed to start using it . That was 5 years ago, though.
May I ask what settings you used? Regular or candy and how long did it take? Thank you I’m having trouble
i used the regular settings. I can't remember how long it took. i am sorry. Maybe 14 hours. I have a 5 year old unit and have not updated it where i have a candy mode.

How long were they in the dryer?
I am not really sure. I know that with the new software, they have a candy setting. I believe it is supposed to do candy in like 2 hours. I just haven't upgraded yet.
The candy mode.. does not work for many things..
Gummed are tricky.
I was watching your video to see your Settings and times.
I figured out you did a standard Old Style freeze dry.. non Candy mode..
I've only owned my new machine two days.. have had several fails in candy mode..
Some things need longer tray heat time.. in candy mode.

Freeze dryer is my dream but it's too expensive
Harvest right has a plan that is like a layaway. look at the bottom of one of their web pages. i think it says financing. click that button and follow the directions.
Do you have to use the pillow in it?
no. but, according to some people, it helps the process move a little bit better. check out the you tube channel called RETIRED AT 40. He is a numbers and tech guy that has great information and awesome videos and in depth content.
