James Taylor - I hope you realize how much our country loves you. For 50 years - you've been bringing your special voice and lyrics to millions of people. You've achieved the status of "beloved" achieved by only a handful of musicians. Stay safe - save your voice - during these trying times.
i second that emotion
Murray westenskow
I love your songs sooo much for all my life! And What I also tell my kids is that We used to listen to real people playing real music not imaginary people and imaginary synthesized vocalists and music! And it’s wonderful that your still real! Ever think about pairing up with Michal Mc Donald? Love you thanks to your family for sharing you with us, your fans!
and our country too
England, me and my kids loves you too.
I cannot agree more.
Memories of James Taylor concerts.
James Taylor is an AMAZING LEGEND!
Have Loved your Music Forever. You have an AMAZING Wife and Family ... Stay Safe/Healthy! Thks for Sharing!
What a lovely down to earth absolute gentleman, doing something like this for us! Thank you Sir and thanks to your lovely family.
When James visited Dublin some years back, instead of going for a break at the interval, he sat on the edge of the stage for the whole break, signing stuff and greeting members of the audience warmly. A really genuine human being and a credit to his profession
Exactly !!
James Taylor is a great musician and a great guy in equal measure.
James Taylor’s music is a wonderful way to spend these trying days. He is such a gentle soul.
Such a wonderful guitar player and voice. When you go to hell and back, if you are James Taylor, you come back stronger and gentler, more humane and a better human being.
Seriously....who doesn't like James Taylor ?
I'm from Brazil. Love him with all my heart. He was the soundtrack of my youth. (If my life was a movie...)

Iv seen fire and iv seen rain! But I always thought I would see you Again! Love you so much James! You are a true poetic writer/singer!
Thank you for this opportunity to meet you once again James, as well as your Family. I met you and Livingston at PNC in N.J. after your Concert. You made my dream come true. I got to shake your hand and you smiled at me. I have collected Autographs for 30 years. Your signature is the closest to my heart ❤ Stay well.
Such a great, talented, humble guy! Thanks for all you do! Thanks to your family too!
What a beautiful gentle man
You're a wise man James. Thanks.
Big admirer. Your honesty, your humility, and your beautiful music. Glad I found you in my teens- you really turned some dark skies blue.
Brother James, thank you and your beautiful family very much! God bless all of you!
I'm in heaven now. Thank you so much for doing this, James and Kim, and family. You are gifts to humanity.
Boys, we love your dad....we sang his songs to our children. Stay safe; stay positive; James Taylor, you’ve given the world more than imaginable.
Dear James,
I'll probably never have the chance talking to you. So let me say thanx in this way for your musical company throughout the years. Since your first records came out in the late 60s I'm a follower and your music has deeply influenced me and my music-making. I sing since I can speak and I'm doing vocal jazz in my sparetime. And when you hear me playing the guitar there's always a bit of your style being heard.
I'm 66 now and I'm grateful that you've crossed my ears, my mind and my heart😊
Greetings from Germany.
(and please join to get rid of the toxic narcissist in the white house)
Yours sincerely
I don't know anything about him as a person, but he certainly seems like a genuine, caring person. He's a great musician.
Josue2018+ That was a long time ago when he was young--long in the past. He has been very open about those past struggles. But I agree very much with the OP, a great musician, and a genuine and caring person from what I know of him.
Thank you James for your million dollar donation for Boston Hospitals. I hope you inspire others to make donations, too.❤️
James , by Pat Metheny , was the impetus to revisit your catalogue . Man , you two should collaborate once this pandemic is over . You know it makes sense . Love your music . Have done for decades .
Please stay safe James (and family)
I'm not sure I'd want to be in a world without you in it...
Bit dramatic
I love you James!! My daughter and I have seen you twice in the past few years in Chicago! One with Bonnie Raitt and the other with Jackson Browne! You two are my all time favorites!!!
Thank you. You are a national treasure.
Absolutely love the new album. If you ask anyone in my family who is my favorite singer, they'll answer, James Taylor." My next oldest sister was in high school when Sweet Baby James came out . I've been listening to you ever since. Thank you for decades of wonderful music . I am enjoying the broadcast, but it's extremely hard to hear you when y'all speak. Glad you are all doing well. Thanks for sharing time with those of us who would love to be in the living room chatting away with you.👩🦳
God Bless you James and your Family Thank you for all your Beautiful music Thank you Daniel From Indiana
My first BIG concert was seeing you in Chicago, right after Fire and Rain debuted.
Just you, a guitar and a stool. Thrilling. Over the years, I saw you live many times,
with your world class back up singers. I got to meet you once, at the backdoor
entrance to the Universal Amphitheater (when I worked there). It was hours
before your concert & nobody was around. I saw you in the parking lot,
and without thinking, I said "JAMES?" You walked right over and we chatted
about the bad pollution of all things! You asked, "Is it always like this?"
You were so gracious and kind. A very special memory. Cheers.
Great to see the boys and Kim. Go Taylors! This too shall pass
Jake Flaherty Please share your talents too ! Xo
I love James Taylor. He is my favorite. I saw him as a 16 year old at the Troubadour

Hi James. I was a Postal clerk for 40 years in Flint Michigan. Many years ago your guitar came thought our office. It was enroute to New York. Being a musician myself, I made sure it was treated with kid gloves. Thanks for sharing time with us. Stay safe, God Bless you and your loving family.
Yes just love the man and his music, just couldn't imagine my childhood without his music.Stay safe.
You are incredible James Taylor. Your music is timeless and your personality is captivating. I have loved your music for such along time. You are the best. David
Hi James! I've loved your music for decades. It's gotten me through a lot in my life, both good and bad. It's great to have you here now, when things are a little frightening. You're always a calming presence. When I'm done here, I think I'll have to go listen to your music for a while! You + your family stay safe!
James, the holy host of others standing round you is more than enough to help us all through this. We all greatly appreciated this.
indeed!
Thank you James and family, you lovely people!
Very nice and too much interesting visit to James Taylor. Glad to know about him more. He is one of musical idols since 1981 when I studied in The Economics Institute at The University of Colorado in Boulder. Let me tell you one thing: I love the album which included Summers Here. Take care at home a lot and be safe and secure. Blessings and grettings to you an to your family. Bye for a while James !
Hello James from England.
Thank you for your generous input.
I live in a seniors complex in England where we have 40 household flats. We've been given instructions to stay put for 3 months. As I live alone with no company other than an Alexa call that I get from my only son. I can't tell you how greatfull I am to him for his undying love
I learned at an early age how to play your music on piano and guitar and as you speak sustains me through the many lonely hours I'm enduring. But endure I must and will. Our life depend on our patience. Pre pandemic I used to sing your covers at open mics and my audiences loved your music. That's no more for the foreseeable future. However, not to be too sad, my son rang last night on Alexa and we had an impromptu jam session over the internet and took it in turns to sing and play. Music in the context we are faced with is a great healer and keeps your mental health better than it would be otherwise. Thank you very kindly for including us in your wonderful family circle even for just a short while I felt connected and part of something.
Please keep broadcasting. It's your way of contributing to a collective effort.
Bless you all.
James. 🙏
Music unites the world.
I am a huge JT fan, and I also live in England ( home counties), and I loved your reply to james. I hope you get through this next 12 weeks with the love of your son and your music. Stay safe and well

James? Your post is beautiful. Deeply beautiful..
Hello Mr. Taylor! I lived in Boston in the middle to late 80's and I knew your father, Ike and babysat a few times for your little half brother Preston. I worked for a family on Beacon Hill and remember that time fondly. I wish you and your family the best and please stay safe and healthy! Thank you also for the music you have given the world. You are the best! :)
💕Thank you James & your beautiful family!💕
You have taken me through so many stages of my life James. You have been there for the good times, bringing joy and peace, comfort during difficult times, a reminder to enjoy life, see the beauty of the world, etc... I was so comforted by your taking the time to reach out to all of us. So wonderful to see you and your family "hunkering" down together. Your music lives in my soul, and turn to it especially now.
Much love and gratitude from Arizona💜🌵💜
Debbie
true, true, true!!!
Thank you so much for your music, voice, and clever lyrics. I have been listening to you my whole life, including today. You have literally saved me many times.
All love. Thank you for sharing yourself and your family
Worth an hour of my life? Hells yes!
Love even more.
My mom named me after you. She's a HUGE fan from back in the day. She listened to you when she was pregnant with me back in 1978. I'd always hear your music on the radio as a kid. But when I was in high school, I found your greatest hits cd in the house and played it every night as I did my homework in 1994. So calming and so what I needed. You are the man!!!! Love you with my liver. My favorite is your BBC Concert from 1971. I can never get enough of that. Keep up the good work and I hope to see you at Jiffy Lube Live here in VA again.
I named my son after James too. I wonder how many James's out there are. 💓
What a nice thing to be named after someone whose work you appreciate so much!
James Lee I didn’t name anyone after James but my kids and I would climb up on the roof and sing up on the roof with you James!
I named my son Jaime (James in Spanish) after JT,. Now I am married to a Jim :-)
I grew up listening to James Taylor...saw him at Red Rocks in Colorado.
Kim seems nice. Sons are handsome. Your children with Carly are amazing. They have the best of both of you. I hope you have a relationship with them.
Mockingbird is my all time favorite video. The chemistry between Carly and James was electrifying and magic. Sad it didn't last. How sweet it would have been to see them grow old together. Pretty sure they still think about each other. Love like they had is forever.
Unfortunately, I abused alcohol and drugs which created disharmony in all my relationships, including my children. Clean and sober 35+ years.
I used to live in Montana. Happy you are at peace. 💙
1971, me and a friend were surfing in San Diego and heard you were in concert in L.A so we drove all the way up there to see you. When we got there you had cancelled-we still love you though, Sweet Baby James-p
‘I want to think of it enough to be prepared but not so much as to stress myself out.’ Wise words. This is a delicate balance to strike, but if we can do this we would all be the better for it. Is there any lovelier human being on the planet than James Taylor? I think not.
what a dream to be be quarantined with James Taylor, what a dream!! So cool!!
I love your music from years, but now I admire you even more to see what a great man you are and the nice family you have! God bless you!
Dear James and Kim, you are so generous to invite us into your home and share time with you. It means the world. I did not discover this until just now in October 2020 but I can truly appreciate what a major comfort it was in the earliest stages of the COVID pandemic when we had no experience and no sense of safety. 7 months later, your warmth and humanity ring out. One true blessing of our time is how connected it is possible to be, with UA-cam and other online ways of sharing time. I was 14 in 1970 when I bought the Apple record named James Taylor and wore its grooves down listening with such immense delight. It is a different kind of delight now, being invited in to your loving family, now at age 64, and realizing how much of the music of JT has been woven throughout my life. And now to be asked in is a very special gift. I hope through these months you have all stayed well, and I wish to return comfort, encouragement and appreciation to you in kind.
Hello.Thank you for sharing this great vedio.I hope ever ones doing okay,And stay save.I always loved Mr.James Taylor Music.🎶🎺🎻🎹🎶🎵🎼🎧🎤☺❤
Dear James, can’t even imagine what it feels like to try and be a guru in this situation . Love you for your music and creativity. Thank you for trying to enlighten those that needed this crisis to see what has been happening for some time.
James, thank you and your family for taking time to share in this crazy time with us. Thank you to our folks on the front lines for doing everything they can to help in this pandemic...but also to you and other musicians who do things like this to keep us connected even when we can't leave our homes.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion & words of wisdom, Mr. Taylor. Hunker down & stay well. ❤️
By the way, I also have a Pug. 😄
How wonderful!!! Thank you your music is medicine!! Always has been
What a wonderful gift to spend an entire hour relaxed and feeling as though we’re just neighbors and friends. Thank you to the cameraman women to the support of sons and wife
Thank you for talking about the Nature connection. It’s so true we humans are encroaching on animal habitats and thus we more easily are getting these viruses from animals that don’t make them ill but can make us ill. The solution is to preserve animal habitats and to see our rightful place in Nature.
Stay safe JT and Family! Thanks for all the great Music!
Yes, again & again, please do this!
Love James Taylor love the music.. Ben Taylor is my second best voice... god bless
I haven't played my guitar for over 30 years, I can't even explain why, but recently I started playing again and James' songs are my absolute favorite to play! Thanks for your How To videos here on UA-cam James!!!
Any time with James is well spent...can’t listen to your music without breaking out in harmonies and forgetting everything else.
Love you
Grew up with you James and you’ve changed the landscape of my generation. Your music transcends time and space. In short, “Rockabye Sweet Baby James”🙏🏻🎶💙🌟💙🎶🙏🏻
I always find you very calming James. I don't do facebook, so thank you for posting this on You Tube. I am also comforted somehow by the fact that you did this on my Mom's birthday. Stay safe💝
Genius on the guitar and with your lyrics. Thank you for sharing your gift of music for most of your life with everyone. You have been a blessing to me and so many.
James you and I are about the same age. I grew up with your music. I play guitar. most songs are yours. They have a way of calming me.
The combination of lyrics, vocals, and soft guitar will never be heard again. Stay safe, we will get through this.
My brother introduced me to your music when we were kids on the road with our mom driving from Colorado to Texas.
We are now in our 50's and sing Handy Man to each other.
For me, you are Sweet Baby James, the one who's music brings me peace.
Blessings to you and your family.
Beautiful family.......wish I could hear them. Taylor the standard for all musicians.
Hi James I will always remember when I seen you in Dublin Ireland, must be over 25years now, I was at the front of the stage taking a photo of u, and you shook my hands with both of yours and then took my camera and took a photo of me, I still have it, the faces on the audience is priceless, 😁 , I thank you for this very special moment in my life, as you were my hero, and still are, thank you my friend for all the years and beautiful songs and music, I wish you knew how much you inspired me, so I'll sign off now with my lovely memories, and wish you and your family all my blessings that you all stay healthy and safe, your friend always 🎵🎶♩🎼🎙🎸💚❤, Billy costello.
A real benefit of the trying times we are going through right now is the intimacy we get to share virtually. I have really enjoyed getting to see "famous" people in their home setting; sitting in a living room that looks a lot like mine, a family pet on the couch or walking through, kids yelling in the background (Jimmy Fallon), someone walks through in a bathrobe. We grew up seeing you folks at your very best, cleaned up and shined and glossed and ready for viewing and now we get to see you as real people and there is something rather special and comforting about that.
BIG BABY JAMES!!!
SWEET BABY JAMES!!!
FOREVER JAMES TAYLOR
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Love you and your songs forever James Taylor God bless you more and your family❤❤❤❤😘
TY James and Family, it's such a comfort for us all to have the stars we have respected since we were children stand by us now. After the fire and rain we look forward to seeing those sunny days again, after these lonely times when we can't see our friends. Bless you all, prayers for humanity
We've seen fire and we've seen rain.....but I know someday we'll see sunshine again. Thank you for your beautiful music James Taylor.
Love you SO MUCH James and this is SUCH a great thing to do while we are at a stand still.... thank you for ALL the years!!!
James Taylor, has been my favorite Musician forever. Since I was 12 years old. I remember listening to your albums with my sisters. My favorite album to this day is still "JT " the white cover albumn. The song " The secert of life." And "Devoted to you . I would sing this to me son and daughter when they were little and we were going through difficult times. I thank you, for your music!! My son started to play guitar when he was 10 years old. He was accepted into Berklee college of music. Your brother Livingston was a teacher for him. Peter, had many great experiences at Berklee. He graduated with a MPE degree. He lives in Maryland and his happily married to his wife Paula. They have a beautiful daughter Eden who is 1 and almost 3 months. Your music is basically all Peter and Tessa my daughter listened too. !! ❤ My son told me that he wanted to pick the song, that the Mother and son dance to at his wedding. He picked " You're smiling face."
James Taylor, your music makes me feel better whenever I get depressed. Especially the song "Your Smiling Face". May God bless you and your family.
Thank you James for creating American Standard. It was perfect timing right before this virus pandemic. Your songs lift my spirits daily and bring me great joy. Perspective is helping me through this. It helps me to remember what my parents and grandparents survived. The Spanish Flu of 1918 was an even worse pandemic and many died. Somehow my grandparents survived and even had a child in 1919. Then I think way back to my Ancestors who were stuck on a ship for 3 months crossing a cold, rugged ocean to an unknown New World. They survived and passed on their strength and resilience to me. Surely, I can survive 3 months in my cozy apartment. Thank you for the goodness you give to us all.
My 8th day in isolation. I live alone and it's a joy to tune into something like this. I first saw you James at the U of Arizona in 1972 and have enjoyed your albums and concerts very much over the past 48 years. Wow Henry -- great music! (:
Stay safe and God Bless!
I could cry every time I hear certain progressions on your guitar as you gave me the push to teach myself in 1969 . be well
Wonderful! ....James Taylor has a Beautiful Family, and he smiles when he talks and sings, ....I couldn't help but smile thanks for that nice break
Dearest James,
Your gift has always been to catapult the populace into realms of heavenly transcendence wherein all else falls away. You’re a diamond healing light ever twinkling bright!
Thank you with all our hearts.
💫💎💫
So wonderful to see the great James Taylor in this candid setting. Your music continues to be a sanctuary in these times
What a lovely family you have James.
Your son played "Traveling Star" real well,
I found myself singing along, such a great song
as are all your songs. You mentioned your love of
Brazilian music, when I first heard "Only A Dream In Rio"
I knew way back then you had a soft spot for Samba's,
and what better Drummer to work along side with, the
late great Carlos Vega. Being a Pro Drummer myself
based in the UK, that man had an incredible influence
on me, first heard Carlos with Lee Ritenour & Dave Grusin
then with Pianist David Benoit (GRP) and of course with your
good self on the "Hourglass" & "New Moonshine" projects, the
discography is endless, I miss Carlos so much. In fact James
one of your socially distant fans asked the question about those
in your life who have sadly departed, always remembered & never
forgotten, someone real close to you, to have that someone back
with you in the land of the living. I did for a second think that person
may have been your Father, my second thought was Carlos Vega,
then you said his name, I was deeply touched to hear that James,
almost had me a silver tear appearing. R.I.P Carlos & Thank You.
Looks like we both have a few things in common James, from the
age of 12 I fell in love with Brazilian music, the rhythm's, acoustic
guitar melodies, vocalist Ivan Lins etc. I've been to Brazil touring
a few times, I get real sad when the tour finishes and its time to
board that plane bound for the UK, musically I don't feel that I
belong here in England. As for Pat Metheny I got into Pat with
the late great Lyle Mays around the age of 16-17. My Dad first
introduced me to your wonderful music when I was around 10,
I was hooked James. My Mum got me into the whole Joni
thing, I'd of been about 7-8.
I listen to a lot of music, many many artists, as long as the music
is of high quality, pleasing on the ear with high level musicians.
This last month due to the lock down I've gotten back into the 8-10hr
daily practice workouts and I'm loving it. But what's real nice after all
that workout is to be able to just relax listening to one man and his
acoustic guitar complimenting one another perfectly.
Hats off to you James & Thank You.
One last thing, I know Steve Gadd is at the top of your contacts when
it comes to needing a High End Drummer and lately the Brilliant Chad
Wackerman, both are in my top influences list along with many more.
If you ever needed a Pro Drummer, spent all my Life Listening & Loving
your material James, real familiar with all songs.
Kind Regards,
Jonathan.
I've loved James since I was a child in the 70s! I wish he had a microphone on here but still listened to every word! Peace and love to him and his family and to everyone during these times in our world now! 🙏💗✌️
Greetings from Stanford , Montana! Been listening to you since the early 70's! You've Got a Friend :)
God bless you and your family.
Mr.James Please stay safe! You sir are a National Treasure! I just wanted to share a little piece of my story with you because your music has meant so much to me through the years.I lost my second oldest brother to leukemia when I was 3 years old.He was 20 at the time and adored your music and often tried to emulate your style of play.I don’t remember much of him but he used to sing me to sleep to the songs,”You can close your eyes” and “sweet baby James”.Now many years later to this day I sing my girls to sleep at night with these very same timeless songs. One day I was playing some of your earlier recordings on UA-cam with Carly Simon and my younger daughter walks in and says,”Daddy! That guy is singing your songs!”. I was floored but just smiled and told her “ Bet you didn’t know you had a famous dad huh?”. She’ll figure it out one day but your songs have been interwoven throughout my life and the life of my family since I was a little boy and I just wanted to say thank you for everything! Please be safe and know we all love you for all the songs you’ve blessed us with.Thank you! John G in Western NY.
Just watched James and Joni Mitchell perform together in 1970 a few hours ago. Great to see James going strong - and more importantly to hear his perspective during this very difficult time in history.
Best of health to you and your family. Stay safe and thank you for all your amazing music. I do enjoy then especially thru this quarantine.
Greetings from Australia . Born 1954. I would not survive this time without my music. I have always been a huge fan. Who would have thought all those years back as a teen we could watch our music on UA-cam and listen to it. TFS . I wish you well and your family. 🙏🙏🙏💜💜
Listen James Taylor is always amazing
