The biggest motivation to me, is how beautiful the language sounds . It sounds very expressive and fluid. It can sound very aggressive, or it can sound soothing at the same time. I also sounds very informative and just somehow, it sounds to be very scientific. Then there are the amazing loving aspect to it that has this deep romantic side . There are no other language like German! That's the reason I learned it within the of basic 3 months! And the more you learn, the more you get motivated! This language sounds so good, that you actually LOVE anyone who speaks it! Its not easy, but who cares , because I like the idea that many people shy away from it, its like picking up a diamond once you acquired even the basic speech!
My favourite chunks so far Hallo alles zusammen! 2) Ich freue mich... auf den party 3) Das stimmt 4) Ich hatte gern einen Apfelkuchen 5) Wo ist die näschte Straße 6) Wir sprechen über ...USW.... Danke Anja du bist die Bestten❤❤
Das ist genial! Vielen Dank. Ich lerne seit über 2 Jahren Deutsch und hatte immer Probleme mit der Grammatik. Jetzt fühle ich mich viel sicherer und werde diese Methode ausprobieren.
I took a class for businessmen back in 1975 before going to work in Germany. Chunking was the method they used and I found it really useful when I arrived. To this day I still remember “Können Sie mir “ and „Wo finde ich?“ and other phrases.
That’s awesome, Patricia! 😊 It’s amazing how effective chunking can be for learning and remembering phrases. I’m glad it worked so well for you, and it's impressive that you still remember those phrases from 1975! Keep using those skills, and thanks for sharing your experience! 🌟📚

She has a point. It also applies to listening comprehension. A lot of conversation is in chunks. By recognizing the chunks, it's a way to improve listening comprehension rather than translating every word you hear.
Agree to some extent. I attended a language course Goethe Institut in Munich 1980. Learned a lot of vocabulary and grammar, but often found myself speaking more by memory and context, than by grammatical reasoning...some words go together very often, like "am Montag", "im Sommer", "warten auf+akkusativ", etc... memory and grammar complement each other...The problem is when you want to express complex ideas. You need grammar.
@@merc340srDo you think different rules would apply? Is grammar really necessary? I would say being corrected when producing language probably would be, but not necessarily explicit grammar.
Hallo dar!I enjoy your videos very much so far i work in Germany .I ve develépped a special method learning german language.I m writting a papper what happened with me this day,and wrtte it down on it a papper in german, and making specia conversations on my mind, and translate it,
NIce. I think for example for photo description in B1 exam It is possible to create 15 chunks and easy use them to any description. We just need these 15 chunks to organize by somebody and train a bit to use for any photo.
I listen to a lot of modern German music like Ayliva, LEA, Anna Trumner, Paula Hartmann (my fav) and this has helped me with learning German a lot. I get to hear spoken German and since it's modern music I get the modern spoken German. I love music so I listen to at least a couple hours a day.
Freut mich, dass dir dieser Satz gefallen hat! 😊 "Ich freue mich" ist wirklich ein toller Ausdruck, den man oft verwenden kann. Viel Spaß weiterhin beim Deutschlernen! 🌟
The worst is to study a language in another one. No problem if you want to memorize words or structures, but to teach German in English is wrong. I prefer to learn German in German French in French and so on
Anja, could you please provide a PDF full of useful phrases that we can learn and memorize to use in our daily conversations? I am from Pakistan and we are not allowed to purchase anything digitally, so I can't buy your course. Please give me a link to a PDF full of useful phrases. Thank you!
@@LearnGermanwithAnja i saw your PDF, but there is no material for chunking. Can you please provide a PDF where I can find useful chunks? i mean if you have
I've been playing a computer game called Skyrim, which is set in a Nordic land, and figured out how to change the language settings to German! Am hoping I'll pick up the basics of this impossible language through usage of repetition. Who said video games weren't educational? I sure hope it works, but if it does, I may end up speaking in a Viking accent.
I don't understand the whole, "memorize a bunch of phrases" approach. One problem I have with that is that you don't know what words mean what. For example, the order of nouns and adjectives are often reversed from one language to another (Casa blanca compared to white house) But more importantly, it doesn't seem to give you a real understanding to how words function in context. For example, if I use a phrase in English like, "Don't shy away from it", that wouldn't necessarily mean I could just take the German word for "shy" (schüchtern) and then use it in the same context in German and assume it would make sense. Like my college professor used to say, "Memorize nothing, understand everything".
