Just registered. :) I want to learn Germany because I travel a lot to Germany. I want to be confident of at least understanding and speaking basic. Thank you, Anja Your videos are very helpful, but the problem is I forget the words!
My son told me about your excellent videos. I’m so glad he did! Here am I at 57 yrs young and trying to learn and speak German. Your methods are so different and unique from the traditional teaching methods that were in my high school days. Thank you so much!!!
I speak Spanish as a native language but can also speak English fluently because I learned it some years ago. The key is to be motivated and really wish for it, being obsessed with the idea. I can remind how overwhelming looked it. I cannot say my English is perfect but for me, the most important is not to sound like a native just that I can express myself. So I wish successful everyone on the way and enjoy the process.🤗💗
Same here! Honestly, knowing English on the level that I do has definitely helped with my learning German endeavors but I'm now over here trying to figure out more so I can properly study it c:
Von meiner Erfahrung das wichtigste ist die Liebe für die Sprache Wenn du motiviert bist und die Sprache liebst, ist alles mehr einfach Ich habe Deutsch selbst gelernt, doch ich mache Fehler aber ich versuche immer durch meine Fehler, mein Skills zu verbessern Gibt ihr nie auf und vor allem Liebe für die Sprache❤❤
Rammstein and my love of their music for many years led me to want to learn to sing their songs, and not only sing them but understand what I was singing. This led to a passion for learning the language itself. Currently at the basics, but I know a ton of their songs by heart and the translation of them, so it's nice that when I'm singing along I'm knowing and picturing what they're saying in German. Learned a lot as a result, now really delving deep into the grammar side of things before improving on my vocabulary. I have a ton to learn.
Yes! Same here! Rammstein made me want to learn the language and then after going down the rabbit hole of German bands such as eisbrecher, mono inc, megahertz, etc I then HAD to learn.
I am learning German so I’m can spend time there. Plus as I am recently retired it is good for my brain. 😊 What I find the hardest is the sentence structure and the grammar. I have been doing Duolingo every day for several months but don’t seem to be progressing much.
Thank you for your awesome video. Just come accross your channel, and I really enjoying it. It give me difference approach to learn German language. Its hard to be honest with you. Answers for your question: 1.The melody and rhythm of spoken German gave a unique quality that can be both melodic and dynamic, adding to the beauty and character of the language. The Hollywood film, "Inglorious Basterd" spark my interests to hear and learn German language. 2. Of courses, deutsche Grammatik. So hard. German grammar make stop learning few times. I hope i can continue and eventually speak German after follow all your methods.
I am an older person and am learning German to keep my brain active. I think my greatest problem is my tendency to focus too much on the grammar and trying to get things "right". I also have trouble fitting in the learning with other things I do, so I'm not consistent in my approach. I've finished your A2 course Anja and the supplied resources are very good. I need to get the idea of chunking more firmly fixed in my approach.
my advice--- listen a LOT, speak a lot, and ignore the grammar. Only do grammar when you are very advanced. when people focus on grammar too much, their brains think about rules when they try to speak, and this makes it unnatural and slow. remember how your learned your native language...speaking and listening....just do the same. BUT it takes a LONG time and a LOT of repetition.
I speak 3 languages. Forget the grammar for now because it will just tie you in knots. The lexical approach (chunks) is far superior. Keep it simple and SPEAK a lot. She's right....don't worry about mistakes. Even native speakers are seldom perfect in their own language.
@@anlace3447 Many thanks for this. This is exactly my problem, I tend to focus on the grammatical correctness of my tenses and this makes it difficult to cope with the language. I even had to buy a German grammar book to study. I will take your advice.
I'm an older person too. My mother tongue is Spanish, I'm learning English but I would like to learn German too. Maybe we can do a group to practice . Blessings from Nicaragua.
Liebe Anja, I am having a hard time learning Deutsch from one of the most popular Apps. I am a dentist, an oral health researcher and now I want to study for my second Masters degree in Public Health from Deutschland. I feel lucky that I have come across your channel and I have never, literally never come across such an engaging video! What I am doing is to understand the logic and breakdown long words into smaller chunks trying to figure out the meaning. Also, I always try to learn the article with every noun I come across and write my notes in a word document which may ultimately become a book for the benefit of all!😅)....... However this video of yours changed my perspective for the better and I'll write while listening to your videos. Such a good work! Learning is indeed fun and writing even more I believe! 🎉 Vielen Dank!
I thank to you Ms anja teaching or delivering information for A1, A2, B1.German is similar to English if someone focus attentively. I can get it but there are two main challenges that (1) Pronunciation (2) Grammar.
I want to learn German because I love how it sounds and when I visit Germany again, I can practice more respect to my German friends by speaking German (at least basic German) instead of just speaking English while visiting Germany. My biggest challenge is certain grammar rules such as the 4 cases, noun declensions, and noun genders (especially the correct article to use for masculine, feminine and neuter and if they're in dative, accusative or genitive cases), both of which hardly exist in English and Chinese that I grew up with.
The first answer is to become a polyglot because I enjoy learning languages, as well as increasing my cognitive functions, exercising the pleasure of interacting with people from other cultures and constantly learning. The second is to maintain a continuous study discipline because my schedule is extensive, with many subjects to cover, so I have to manage my time well, which most of the time I can't do efficiently. Thanks for sharing!🙏🏿
I like the one about using gestures and simple words at the beginning, which is where I was as a complete novice. It actually does "work" and seems more natural in some ways, although I'm amusing to native speakers. 1. Why do I want to learn German ?: Just moved to Vienna, Austria and will probably stay for a few years. 2. What is your biggest challenge when learning German ?: Many, but in Vienna, a lot of people speak English, even maybe preferred in IT circles, so it is sometime easier to just use English.
Frau Anja, you are the best German teacher ever🎉 I'm already in Germany (only 1week here) hand I'm very shock I can't talk with them because i took my German lesson 2 yrs ago and i forgot everything😅. If you want to come here better to learn Deutsch in a language where in you understand first huhu.
I moved to Berlin two years ago and I started to learn German Although , I can easily manage with only English in Berlin I would love to be able to speak. At the moment I am at B1 level and my biggest challenge is the speaking. But possibly I am putting to much effort on talking correctly instead of just talking without shame. Thanks for the video, please inform me about the B1 course starting on 17.10.
My Grandpa spoke German to me when I was a child and I was decent with it through high school, but I have not spoken it for over 50 years now and I have lost so much. But most is read and listen. I like your method of speaking German and then hearing it in English. My problem comes in formulating off the cuff sentences, if situational I can usually put it together. I hope that makes sense.
I enjoy learning languages as a hobby while discovering cultures , history . Your approach is fun . I do have a difficult time with sentence structure , articles , prepositions , where to place nicht for examples . And so while also using duolingo , your videos and perhaps others while at the gym and relaxing i learn chunks . I figure repetition will make sense through frustrating times . Keep up the good work Anja and crew .
Hi Anja, once again let me clarify that I like and love to watch and learn Deutsch through your system. Answer 1. I am interested to learn the language as I respect the country and the people and every year I travel to Germany and Switzerland to meet my son and family. Answer 2. The biggest challenge is that I fail to remember the words when I need to use them. To add, Ich bin 68 jahre alt.
I want to learn German because since my family has German roots it would be nice to identify with my heritage more. Also, I have several friends in Germany and want to be courteous and learn to speak their language- not speak English all the time. Visiting Vienna this summer :). Thank you Anja.
I love languages, traveling (although I cannot do it right now) and people. The more languages I can speak, the more people I can talk to and the more things I can learn. My biggest roadblock : I am a primary caregiver, mother and grandmother; and language is my enjoyment and relaxation and comes after the more important activities
Let me know in the comments:👇1) Why do you want to learn German? (Live/Work/Study/Travel/German Partner etc... ) 2) What is your biggest Challenge when learning German? (Motivation, Grammar, ding good material, Understanding Germans etc.) 👇 PS: Enrollment will open on Friday, October 7. Course start will be Monday, October 17. :D
I lived here for 6 mos, and I feel like getting worst everyday. (I passed my B2 exam last year May 2021) And I'm arrived here last march 23, 2022. Ich kann nicht mehr! Even a simple sentence I can't able to form.
As an middle age father, i really want to thank you for your enthusiasm un teaching language. You have reminded me my kindest primary school teacher , in order to educate us on the importance of polio vaccination, she pretended as a limping paralyzed woman who sufered from polio in the pre vaccine era. Teachers are the kindest of all sentient beings. ❤
First of all I'm so glad I discovered your channel this is exactly the kind of German study that I adapt to the most! Secondly my learning of the language can be a bit of a challenge when it comes to understanding the [die -der -das] und auch like the person in the video I can understand much more when the language is written down opposed to when a native is speaking in a normal manner.
Lol, my motive for learning German was because of 2 of my favorite German bands, Rammstein and Tokio Hotel and then I just wanted to understand the songs better. I also love how challenging the language is and I love a challenge. Ich liebe deutsch!
I really want to learn German because first of all I love to learn it ,and now I want to work and help in the old-age home to understand and corry out what everyone needs in their sick bed . But the German language challenged me that Grammar and cases I can't understand please Anja make more vedeo I am very much interested to learn from your vedeo more & more .
Thanks for the video. I signed up for your course but haven’t stuck to it. This gives me motivation to start again! I have German relatives (in Germany and Canada) but they all speak English! I hope to hold a decent conversation in German with them one day!
Ich reise nach Deutschland weil meine Tochter dort lebt. Ich wünsche meine alltagssprache zu fuhren und meine deutschkenntnisse verbessern 😊 Ich habe selbst gelernt (Autodidaktisch) Ich finde Ihre Videos sehr hilfreich😊 Vielen lieben Dank
Linguistics is just one of my favorite subjects in the world. I've been interested in learning another language - any: Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, etc. I decided to pick German because one of my favorite book series takes place in Germany-inspired setting. While the book and most of the dialogue is in English, there are a fee German words and phrases in there.
I have a few reasons to learn German. My ancestors come to South Africa from Germany in 1750, I am now working for a German company in SA and I want to move to Germany. Also just loving the language.
"1,000 words to understand 50% of conversational German". Oh, Anja, compared to my ancestral language (Chinese) that officially requires memorizing 3,000 characters (equivalent to words) to be considered fluent, I better stop complaining or thinking that German is hard and motivate myself to look forward to understanding at least 50% of conversational German in no time. 😀
@@armandlombard I don't judge any languages by whether they're easy or hard, only by the amount of effort required to become proficient enough to communicate comfortably with native speakers conversationally and in written form. When I used the word "hard" in my earlier comment, I don't mean it's hard to learn although the way I commented is confusing if the context wasn't realized correctly. It's just about devoting more time to learn, absorb and practice German especially when I don't live in a region that has plenty of opportunities to practice speaking German. In my current life for example, after doing my German language exercises and practice, it's all back to English and Chinese (mostly Cantonese, sometimes Mandarin) again because none of my local friends and family members speak German. That's my definition of "hard" when it comes to maintaining what I learned from Anja's German academy. :)
On my maternal grandfather’s side was German. He was born in America so don’t know how far back his line came from Germany. It sounds interesting. Other places I’m learning to count, colors, haven’t gotten to the alphabet, beginning to learn family member words and I did see an ad in German with family member words that I understood and it seems a little easier than French and Spanish. I seem to like the sound of German. Sentences are a tongue twister but that’ll take a while to get. But I like the sounds.
I’m trying to learn because my grandparents immigrated after WW2, so German traditions have always been in our family. My dad and his brother and sisters speak it but never taught it to me or my cousins. I’m also considering a move to Germany someday. What I find most difficult is word order. Adhering to “time, manner, place” and looking at word endings such as -en has given me a much greater understanding of how it works, but it’s not always that simple. I also have trouble speaking it effectively (my dad helps, but knows too much advanced stuff for me 😂), and when it’s spoken very quickly, it’s hard to understand. I also keep looking for the most engaging and fun ways to learn German that keeps me attentive and motivated, both because I have ADHD and also because I’m a visual learner. I would say also that I trust native German speakers to instruct me, rather than those who learned it as a second language, because I’ve heard some American teachers with very atrocious pronunciation 😂
There are some great short stories read in slow German that you could use. German jam is a great channel, although I think they are American lol. There also is a 17 minute video that is very basic, very very simple, but where it is nursery rhymes and easy melodies that teach it to you. There are 10 different songs including a Weather song, a career song, a Time song, a basic introduction song, accounting song, and different things like that. I get the idea of always needing it to be fun, but the last suggestion is just set aside a few minutes every day to learn. If you set aside hours you might want something more fun, something that will keep you engaged for hours on end but if you set aside an hour, less even, a half hour every day it will be better because it will be able to hold your attention more if that makes sense. I don’t know if that approach works for everyone but at least for me I have found it useful in making that commitment. Hope this can help
Funny story- While vacationing in Germany I went on a run. I finished, went into a store to shop, and was going to walk home from there. I tried using the German I was taught from duo lingo and said “wo ist der Bad?” (Where is the bathroom?) After some back and forth, she asked me to say it in English bc she didn’t understand. She was so kind about it. It could have been way more embarrassing. Later I found out that in that region I was essentially asking for a shower. So I agree with what you mean about using old words! I’m sure the chunks would have helped so much! I struggle with forming sentences. I feel like if I understood sentence structure better then it would be more enjoyable to speak and learn words to use within sentences. I love your videos. This video was specifically helpful. I hope to learn more. I am learning German bc my father was born in southern Germany near the Swiss border. When he passed one of the first things I learned was “Mein Vata ist in der Himmel.” I think it’s such a beautiful way to put it. I would like to visit his country of origin more. Also, I’m about to have a baby and would love for him or her to be bilingual.
I teach German at a homeschool co-op. We meet once a week and parents get the opportunity to expand their homeschool curriculum by utilizing some of the moms that may have talents in areas the parents are not strong in. I have found that the grammar is the part that is the hardest part for me to teach because I am not just teaching German at that point, I am teaching English as well. I am a native speaker as I lived in Germany until I was 11 but I never learned German in a formal setting. I have used your videos over the years for homework in my class. I totally agree with what you said here and I am thinking of changing my approach. I am interested in finding out more.
I learned words and phrases from my ex mother in law, but it is Bayern and different from what my daughter speaks in school. Lol so I am learning all over, and I love you and this channel
Great video. I'm interested in the language because I'm interested in the history and the people. I used to work with a lot of Germans. My biggest challenge is of course the four cases; nominative, akusative, dative und genetiv - unmoglich !
I know nothing at all about German literally nothing, but I've decided to start learning and I watch bunch of videos about how I can start , I thought at the beginning to join a course or something in my country but they are super expensive , so I decided to start myself at the beginning and then I can join a course or something when I will have a background information , so I will start to watch your series for teaching german for A1 level ❤
Ich möchte Deutsch lernen, weil mein Nachname Deutsch ist. Mein Urgroßvater stammte aus Deutschland. Ich komme aus Amerika. Ich spreche etwas Deutsch, aber ich spreche kein fließendes Deutsch. Meine Muttersprache ist Englisch. I'll try to slow down on the grammar because it's confusing. I'm making better progress going through my English to German dictionary. I still struggle with the prepositions and when to place the verbs at the end of the sentence. Especially when there's a comma in the middle of the sentence. To be fair to Germans, I also struggled with English grammar in school. If I had a native speaker to communicate with regularly, it would help me to reach fluency.
I’ve been learning German for many years, but never really committed to it, which I regret. But I’m now more motivated than ever. I’ve got close family over there (ich habe zwei Deutsch halb Brüder) and I have always wanted to move over for a little while to immerse myself in the language. I am somewhere between A1 and A2, and I want to move to Germany this year 😂
My parents immigrated to the USA from Germany in the 1960s. I was born and raised in the USA. My parents wanted my brother and me to be as Americanized as possible and never really spoke German to us as children. I love them, but I'm so mad at them for their decision to not speak German to us as children when it's easiest to learn a language. I've been to Germany three times and everytime I visited my family there they wanted to practice their English. I'm in my 50s now and I finally want to learn German so I can have a real conversation in German with my parents. I've been watching you on UA-cam for about a year now, and I must admit I have a better understanding of German now more than ever. My challange is that I get hung up on the cases and memorizing the gender of a word, which is so important to know to set up a sentence correctly.
Refreshing content. the way she blends the English and German is absolutely fantastic. Her actions illustrations skits are simply the best. Mehn... I am glad I found this Channel. Thank you Anja.
1. I've enjoyed the sound of German as far back as I can remember. I have several reasons for learning German but most of those developed from that initial interest in the sound. Since I started learning German I found that I'm interested in learning other languages in general. 2. The biggest challenge for me has been the grammar, especially the cases and sentence structure. Reading something that's already written isn't too bad, but stringing together my own sentences...I'm pretty frustrated with it at the moment. Ugh, remembering all the changing endings especially. I love the language but sometimes I find myself wishing "the" could just be "the" or "red" could just be "red" BTW I have Anja's A1 course and it's fun. I'd recommend it to whoever sees this. My frustration with the grammar has more to do with how I'm processing that information (or not) and isn't a reflection on the course
Anja has a great witty approach to learning. German is the only language that gives me confidence I can learn other language. I just love Germany after doing a fellowship there and would like to return to settle one day so I wish to learn. My challenge is speaking is so fast I can hardly hear a word! Ich kann gut schreiben aber verstehe nich wenn sprochen
One thing that’s really helped me get a good start learning German is to *_personalize_* the german words I learn. For example: I’m a guitarist and a delivery driver for Amazon. So I made sure to learn the words and phrases that I’m repeatedly reading/thinking/saying while doing those activities.
I suggest for videos select link "Transcript", review the written dialog to understand and anticipate unfamiliar words or sentences, then view and listen to the video. This way you can understand the video conversation directly.
My biggest obstacle is that I get burnt out on it too quickly. I know that being immersed is probably one of the best ways so I tend to go super hard on the lessons and will marathon them for hours and hours until I can't anymore...then I'll stop doing the lessons for months on end before I get motivated to start again. Recently, I was traveling in another state and heard some people speaking German and was frustrated that I didn't understand anything other than the word Super. Not that I should learn to eavesdrop but it would have been fun to talk with them while we hiked up this difficult trail together. Or to help another pair of German speaking tourists that seemed lost at one point. Sure they may also know English but sometimes knowing how to speak in their language can help prevent confusion.
@LydJaGillers So were you the one who zoomed by me on Duolingo with ca. 3500 points in a day? 😃 Anyway, I wish you all the best, and I understand re: sometimes doing too much. I also want to understand the spoken language of native speakers.
@@LydJaGillers I am Nishil from India.I got admission in OVGU, Magdeburg Public University.I want to learn German but fees are very high could u please help me to share this course because fees are very high to learn German from coaching and I love this course because I had seen demo course??We can connect on FB where we can connect.
I had learnt German 50 years ago and because of lack of practice have forgotten most of it. May be with your lessons I may be able to revive my memory.
1. i want to learn german because i'm in a long distance relationship and my boyfriend lives in austria!! i wanna move there one day rather than have him come here, and it's best if i learn the language and become fluent soon enough before i get there. it's also just super fun to learn new languages and now that i have an actual reason to motivate me, i have even more fun with it! and 2. the thing i struggle with the most is exposure to the language. i know that part can be as easy as watching or reading something interesting in german once a day, but then i stress myself out because of that "i don't understand any of this" mindset you mentioned here. i'm working on overcoming that! danke schön anja! thank u for the helpful video :)❤
Iam a Kenyan working in Saudi Arabia and iam trying very hard to learn Germany. I really like your teaching. Iam already finish A1 and iam now in B1. My dream is to come in Germany for a greener pasture and I know that by the grace of God I will make it in Jesus name 🙏🙏
Hallo Anja!
I like to learn new language like German, and I want to travel to this beautiful country one day. My biggest problem is speaking and sometime I don't have motivation to learn it. But I think everything takes time. Day by day, just a little bit more of practice, I will able to fluent German one day. Thank you for sharing the learning method, I wish you have a wonderful day 🎁✨🍀
Аня....... У тебя охуительнейшие видео.... Чувство Юмора, Заряженность, Мэто-до-логгия 😄😄😄 I would be say...... like ... the Best of the best of the Best - Minimum! Aaaaaaber........... 😀😄😆 Kein Aber.... Bruder ;)
Hello, thanks fornthe great video 😊🙏. Want to learn because I love to speak as many as different languages, to do business in Germany, to be able to speak to my friends in German, make new friends and want to understand German culture. My biggest challenge is to find German speaking people to talk to 😊.
I want to learn German because my wife and I are visiting Germany and Switzerland this June. Also, German was my 1st language until we moved to the US (my parents forbid us to speak anything but English). My most difficult hurdle is trying to remember what gender is assigned to almost everything! I appreciate your videos and teaching methods. Danke!
...The biggest challenge is that is very difficult to have real life conversations in German when nobody around speaks german. Otherwise, Great video! I started in A1 with you and I am now starting B1 with your happygerman academy. I guess the videos for B1 are not out yet, right?. I Love your course. I have started to understand German much better and some things come out automatically. But, yes, it is a very difficult language and movies are still too fast for me to understand. I spent 6 weeks in Berlin at the end of 2020, after having studied with your method for about 6 months. I went three hours daily to class there. Even with that, my German language progress is slow, although I speak three other languages very well -the same ones that you speak, and I am a language teacher that have used your same kind of method for many years with my students. To throw oneself into the arms of this language and let go takes a while! Specially, as I said above, when you don't have anyone to speak German with. Aber Ja, Ich will, ich kann und ich werde Deutsche lerne! Große Küsse.
Both of my children went to German Immersion school. My daughter is now in the 7th grade German . I should now more then the basic . They both started when they was 4 years old now my son is 20 . I want my daughter to do great in German
Der deutsch Grammatik gefällt mir sehr. Ein Ding, der habe ich gelernt, ist dass jeden neu Ding, der ich lerne, ist permanent. Also ich freue mich jeden neu Ding zu lernen!
Hello Anja, thank you for making learning German fun and interesting. I am a beginner. I would like to learn German for many reasons. I love to read about Germany and study German history, especially WWII. I have always dreamt of moving to Germany and living there, atleast a few years. To study, work, and marry a beautiful lady. My biggest struggle with learning is that I do not retain anything. Nothing stays in my long term memory. I dont' have anybody to have conversations with and it doesn't apply to my daily life. It's bad and embarrassing. If I ever have an opportunity to take a German course at a university or a community college I will. Thanks again for inspiring us to try harder and do better. You rock!
You might order German history books and read them until you can repeat the phrases by heart. That's helpful, giving you a feeling for those "chunks". Routine is the key, and stay away from stuff that can't fascinate you thoroughly. It must be something you eager to open and read again and again. Ideal websites can serve the same purpose. But chat is very bad for beginners, as it abounds in mistakes, only causing confusion, just like the usual movie subtitles do because of their blatant inaccuracy.
A bit late to answering your question, but my fiancé lived in Germany when he was young and always wanted to go back. I have not told him where we're going or how we're getting there (he's also wanted to take a train trip for years). So now I have to learn as much German as I can, in secret, in just 4-6 months while not mixing it up with any Spanish or Japanese.
I spent a week in Berlin, and I loved it. I want to be able to speak German well when I visit next time. I'm also hoping to move there sooner than later.
I use Anki for learn english and German my method is put the words in my mother tongue for example the kitchen I had say in German die kücke, so you force your mind to learn the phrases and do it with a phrase not wit words alone
It is refreshing to know that someone has actually worked out how people learn language. I am dumbfounded as to why the education systems of the world is so ignorant when it comes to language education. For what Anja speaks of here is how children learn their first language: why have we not kept with what has proven to be effective? As an older person with dyslexia I was presented with two full pages showing all the conjunctions for “Tun”. The only thing I got from three weeks of this was a massive headache. The “Auslanderhehode” as me why I have not reached A1. What could I say? Thanks Anje.
I always wanted to learn German because I have German ancestors. The biggest challenge of faced while learning German is finding materials that are accessible to me as a blind person. I found that audio and video usually works best.
5:56 Das ist der Weg, der wir in den siebziger Jahren gelehrt wurden. Über die Punkte um 7:10 : Es war immer so. Es erfortete viele Mühe, ein Gespräch zu halten.
Danke Anja Best video I've ever seen and yours is the first Deutsch video I've on my German learning journey Na? ❤😂 Icht will Icht kann Icht werde Deutsche lernen
Guten Tag Anja. I am following your channel to learn German. I like your caption " Life is too short to learn German , NOT WITH ANJA DUHHH! " Ich will, ich kann und ich werde Deutsch lernen. Danke schön, Anja. 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇now i feel i got motivated
I want to learn German because I now live in the German part of Switzerland and it is a necessity for work and to integrate into the community. My biggest challenge is motivation. Unfortunately, the Swiss are not exactly an easy population with which to make friends. Having since come across videos and articles-some from trusted and cited sources-proving/stating as such, TBH, actually gave me a sigh of relief. “Whew! It actually isn’t me!” - Thus the waning motivation. But I know I need it. And it definitely motivates to make it fun. So thanks for that.
I have studied and struggled with French for years. Recently started studying German, and as a native English speaker, find German to be easier to hear and understand. That said, this video has excellent advice for learning any language. If I knew these tips years ago, it would have accelerated my French learning for sure.
24:50 , 26:30 - I needed that piece of advice like oxygen. I’m still a beginner in German but I hope to improve in the next months. Thank you very much for your work! Du bist super!
I appreciate the information, especially at 18:30 ( Herr Ober) .i was in the US Army in Germany 1986 to 1988. Back then, we were taught and used " Herr Ober, and Fraulein " in restaurants. I have also learned that Fraulein is not used anymore. Can you speak more on that? Danke fur alles!
My biggest challenge while learning was grammar structure,Die verructe Grammatik ,I used to translate the things from English to Deutsch. No one disclosed how to stop tranlating but your 4M Formel helped me to overcome this barrier Anja, thanks a lot.
I am learning German, because I moved to Germany to marry and stay here with my partner. While he is fluent in English, many of my future in-laws only speak German. That being said, so far everything has been fabulous, but sentimental familial reasons aside I am having to learn A1 for my residency permit, and will ultimately seek citizenship. Learning German has been difficult for me, though. As a writer I find German's sentence structure to be completely different from English, and just when I think I understand it I am proven wrong. It really messed with my head lol ... Apart from simply living my life in Germany I'd been learning through Duolingo app, but since finding your videos I find you've helped me reinforce the basics so much better than that app has been doing. I have since been utilizing your videos to teach and re-teach me the basics, and have enjoyed your light-hearted demeanor and approach to learning this beautiful language. Vielen Dank! I wish I'd found your channel so much sooner, but the algorithm was not kind to me until recently.

My high school used this and Nico‘s Weg to teach and I loved it!!!
But the content matters too!!! 🤪😱
I am learning german because my grandmother was born in Dresden . I am having just regular difficulties. I want, I can and I will . Tada!
I want to study in germany
Same here! Honestly, knowing English on the level that I do has definitely helped with my learning German endeavors but I'm now over here trying to figure out more so I can properly study it c:
Von meiner Erfahrung das wichtigste ist die Liebe für die Sprache
Wenn du motiviert bist und die Sprache liebst, ist alles mehr einfach
Ich habe Deutsch selbst gelernt, doch ich mache Fehler aber ich versuche immer durch meine Fehler, mein Skills zu verbessern
Gibt ihr nie auf und vor allem Liebe für die Sprache❤❤
Yes I remember so many noun genders and declensions etc from their lyrics.
Same here I love there music as well as oopmh music
Glad I'm not the only one wanting to learn German mainly because of Rammstein.
Oh my goodness I'm glad there are others like me❤
Ich lerne Deutsch weil ich nach Deutschland Umzug arbeiten und Reisen. Du bist die beste Lehrerin am UA-cam.. ich gucke deine Videos gern.
Answers for your question:
1.The melody and rhythm of spoken German gave a unique quality that can be both melodic and dynamic, adding to the beauty and character of the language.
I'm only 34 and also learn to keep my brain active.
Ich bin shaina...i have completed A1, ur learning is so helpful for me...from Bangladesh 🇧🇩 🥰
Vielen Dank!
Hey I am a dentist too looking forward to move this year..which college did u join
Frau Anja, you are the best German teacher ever🎉
I'm already in Germany (only 1week here) hand I'm very shock I can't talk with them because i took my German lesson 2 yrs ago and i forgot everything😅.

I lived here for 6 mos, and I feel like getting worst everyday. (I passed my B2 exam last year May 2021) And I'm arrived here last march 23, 2022. Ich kann nicht mehr! Even a simple sentence I can't able to form.
Ich lebe in Deutschland.ich möchte gut deutsch sprechen :)
Ich muss reden,um zu leben

You are 'THE HONEST LANGAUAGE TUTOR' I HAVE SEEN SO FAR!!!!
Please how do I sign up for her course

In fact German is so far from Chinese, the pronounciation alone is miles apart. Please dont think German is any easier than another language.
Learning is only hard if you have had a Traumatic Brain Injury ! 🤣 ME ! 🤣😂
.
Anja is totally right. I love how her method is scientifically based.
Teach me please I really want to learn
I learned words and phrases from my ex mother in law, but it is Bayern and different from what my daughter speaks in school. Lol so I am learning all over, and I love you and this channel
Great video. I'm interested in the language because I'm interested in the history and the people. I used to work with a lot of Germans. My biggest challenge is of course the four cases; nominative, akusative, dative und genetiv - unmoglich !
Ja ,unmoglich😁😅
I know nothing at all about German literally nothing, but I've decided to start learning and I watch bunch of videos about how I can start , I thought at the beginning to join a course or something in my country but they are super expensive , so I decided to start myself at the beginning and then I can join a course or something when I will have a background information , so I will start to watch your series for teaching german for A1 level ❤

do you speak Swiss German?
Do you have integration courses?
I love your lessons it's so nice
Ich lebe in Deutschland
I love the language but sometimes I find myself wishing "the" could just be "the" or "red" could just be "red"
BTW I have Anja's A1 course and it's fun. I'd recommend it to whoever sees this. My frustration with the grammar has more to do with how I'm processing that information (or not) and isn't a reflection on the course
There is some quite easy solution to part number two.
👋😊📝
Anja has a great witty approach to learning. German is the only language that gives me confidence I can learn other language. I just love Germany after doing a fellowship there and would like to return to settle one day so I wish to learn. My challenge is speaking is so fast I can hardly hear a word! Ich kann gut schreiben aber verstehe nich wenn sprochen
Russian grammar makes German look easier, the Russian has 6 cases, but no articles and verbs have so many forms
One thing that’s really helped me get a good start learning German is to *_personalize_* the german words I learn. For example: I’m a guitarist and a delivery driver for Amazon. So I made sure to learn the words and phrases that I’m repeatedly reading/thinking/saying while doing those activities.
Sehr kreativ

I had learnt German 50 years ago and because of lack of practice have forgotten most of it. May be with your lessons I may be able to revive my memory.
You’re very creative person. I’m looking forward for the B1 course.
1. i want to learn german because i'm in a long distance relationship and my boyfriend lives in austria!! i wanna move there one day rather than have him come here, and it's best if i learn the language and become fluent soon enough before i get there. it's also just super fun to learn new languages and now that i have an actual reason to motivate me, i have even more fun with it!
and 2. the thing i struggle with the most is exposure to the language. i know that part can be as easy as watching or reading something interesting in german once a day, but then i stress myself out because of that "i don't understand any of this" mindset you mentioned here. i'm working on overcoming that!
danke schön anja! thank u for the helpful video :)❤

Please can you teach me German language?
I like to learn new language like German, and I want to travel to this beautiful country one day. My biggest problem is speaking and sometime I don't have motivation to learn it. Hello, thanks fornthe great video 😊🙏.
Want to learn because I love to speak as many as different languages, to do business in Germany, to be able to speak to my friends in German, make new friends and want to understand German culture.
My biggest challenge is to find German speaking people to talk to 😊.
Zuerst wollte ich in Deutschland arbeiten, aber es ging schief, jetzt studiere ich, weil mir die deutsche Sprache gefällt ❤️
Mir auch
I want to learn German because my wife and I are visiting Germany and Switzerland this June. Also, German was my 1st language until we moved to the US (my parents forbid us to speak anything but English). My most difficult hurdle is trying to remember what gender is assigned to almost everything! I appreciate your videos and teaching methods. Danke!
The gender topic is an easy one.
Have you found the right answers? 👋😊📝
...The biggest challenge is that is very difficult to have real life conversations in German when nobody around speaks german. Große Küsse.

that's the best german learning guide i've ever seen, thank you!
Ich möchte Deutsch für ein schönes Job lernen und Grammatik und Vokabel ist die großte Herausforderung für mich in Deutsch zu lernen .
when i first came to this channel i thought it was a hard one. but now i think its the best
Teacher you are fabulous...I hope one day to meet u in eygept...your style in teaching is so good
Anja du bist die Beste, du hast ein Händchen fürs Unterrichten. Der Inhalt hat mir wie immer sehr gut gefallen. Prost
5:56 Das ist der Weg, der wir in den siebziger Jahren gelehrt wurden.

Guten Tag Anja. I am following your channel to learn German. I like your caption " Life is too short to learn German , NOT WITH ANJA DUHHH! "

Love you Anja🥰👌
If I knew these tips years ago, it would have accelerated my French learning for sure.
the biggest challenge for me are - the pronunciation (especially "r" sound), the verb conjugation, and the listening !
I love you Anja. You are a superb comedian and a great teacher !
Die Herausforderung für mich ist die Zeit. Ich brauche mehr Zeit. Ich werde meine B2-Prüfung im Dezember ablegen.
Best teacher ever ,...you got into our deep problems in few minutes 👍
24:50 , 26:30 - I needed that piece of advice like oxygen. I’m still a beginner in German but I hope to improve in the next months. Thank you very much for your work! Du bist super!
I appreciate the information, especially at 18:30 ( Herr Ober) .i was in the US Army in Germany 1986 to 1988. Back then, we were taught and used " Herr Ober, and Fraulein " in restaurants. I have also learned that Fraulein is not used anymore. Can you speak more on that?
Danke fur alles!
Vielen Dank für das nett Video, ich habe soo viel Dinge gelernt, ich freue auf viel zu Kränen, jetzt bin lerne ich A2,ich mag Deautsch Sprache

Wunderbar!!! Vielen Dank, Anja!
My biggest challenge while learning was grammar structure,Die verructe Grammatik ,I used to translate the things from English to Deutsch. No one disclosed how to stop tranlating but your 4M Formel helped me to overcome this barrier Anja, thanks a lot.
There is easy comprehensive information for this issue. Find the right source 📝😊👋
Danke schön Anja
Learning German with you is always a great fun.
Very very valuable tips for a learner of German language.
Vielen Dank meine liebe Lehrerin.
