I think you're Just checking what she is saying is correct. I have got indian friends in Germany. They don't speak English, only German. Sue from india
"Drill and Practice" exercises are finally making a comeback in all (K-12) school subjects. I am so happy you are demonstrating the benefits of this strategy. Ein großes Dankeschön!!
A good teacher is the one who understands the subject clearly and the great teacher is the one who knows how to teach clearly and surely Laura is a great teacher ❤ your methodology simply amused me 🙌🏻
Thank you Laura. I am currently one of your students and doing a paid lesson, so this is timely and well presented. I think that Templates and set guides are something I need at this moment and at the stage I am at. Time constraints also mean that I like to jump in at every opportunity and also hungry for knowledge and something new to learn. This is all exciting stuff and as I live on an island in the middle of the South Pacific I do not think we have too many German speaking people on island so getting my work checked would be difficult so any links to suggested sites and anyone who wishes to assist would be grateful. See you in the class room and highly recommend that anyone learning jump in and look at the lessons.
Hi Laura, this is video is incredible! Thank you so much. I am pinning it to my tab to be watching everyday, and yes I would be glad to receive a drill book from you. Thanks very once again.
Thanks for watching! So glad the video has been helpful. Unfortunately the drill book keeps getting pushed down on the list, but hopefully you can work on a selection of your own drills in the meantime!
Perfect teacher! Your German Foundations courses were absolutely impressive, and you were a great Kickstarter for learning German more effectively. Thank you, Laura. ❤
Ok, so I’ve learned more about gender/neutral usage of der/die/das in 5 minutes of this video, than two weeks of using Duolingo haha Like it’s good, I’m getting a tonne of usage out of it but this was a gap. Thank youuu!
Wow, what a truly excellent exercise this is! I'm already fluent in German but have been looking for something as a refresher for various grammar issues. This looks like a good way to jumpstart the process. Thanks for your meticulous work on outlining how to proceed with this! Very helpful. (And I'm also enjoying many of your other videos. Really like your approach to this language!) ❤
This is super helpful! Basically any sentence structure can be used, so if you come across something in your studies that is a challenge or is something you are struggling with, these drills will help a ton. Thank you Laura!
Nice video. As complex as the German language is, it would be interesting to know what percentage of native speakers have a through mastery of it. As a native English speaker of the United States, it's amazing how many grammatical mistakes I see when reading news articles.
That's true. I'm German and in 5th grade, people kept saying "ich fande es....so und so" when talking about someone's story or report we discussed. Our teacher was really annoyed and kept saying there's no such word as "fande". 😂 Yet, I think most people speak grammatically correctly, with very few exceptions, without thinking about it. As for newspapers articles, many journalist have studied Germanistik at university, but I'm sure it happens occasionally 😉. Nobody is perfectly...
Laura you are a Rock Star! I have been thoroughly enjoying German Foundations (I'm currently working on Foundations 2). Thank you so much for all your amazing teaching efforts - I truly think you're Brilliant! Side note - your hair looks awesome! 😊
I‘m so glad this video appeared on my feed. Fabulous lesson, clearly explained with good visuals and examples. I’ve never hit the subscribe button faster.
Laura is working on some recording for her main online courses at the moment, but would love to get back to releasing new content as soon as time allows. Thanks for being here! - Nicole, GwL Team
Thank you so much for explaining this well. I’ve been trying to learn German on and off for years and this has helped me understand der, die and das. Amazing thank you!
Wow, your video really helped me, im about to take my A1 german test, and the way you explained everything it is just wow for me, thank you, for share your knowledge and a template or some exercises like this would be great ! Have a good day ❤
This video is a BIG TREASURE for me. Thank you very much. I will be able to work a hoke month or more with all the ideas you give. And I am sure it will help me to improve my german. Thank you very much!! Frida, from México
Hey excellent video! This is the key to practice I've been looking for that is missing from all the german workbooks I have! You got a new sub and I'll take a look at your course online. Thank you for posting this! I can appreciate the time taken to make this!
Wow! You are the best! This helped so much. Any template or worksheet would be awesome. I am about to search videos you have on dative cases because that is VERY confusing. Maybe a template with seit and vor, as well? I do not know anyone who can check answers, are we allowed to put some in the comments? I know you are busy!
So glad the video was helpful! We are not able to check answers here on UA-cam, but there is teacher support in Laura's online courses if you are interested in those. Happy learning. - Nicole, GwL Team
I like you Laura. I can’t wait till I almost finish my current study program until I start your courses. I like your pronunciation in both English and German which makes me accept German with a good appetite.
I love your teaching method🎉 Plus you're adorable😊 It's funny that I stutter in English (my native language) but I do not stutter at all in German🤔🤗 I'm so thrilled I stumbled upon your videos. Thank you for taking the time to make them and share this beautiful language 👩🏫
Thanks a million for making learning German much easier. Would you be so kind as to provide a set of thematic drills for us beginners for whom it might be a challenge to find right words for every column? Once again thank you!
Thanks for the comment! Laura does have additional drills for this video on her (long!) to-do list, but I am not sure when she might get to it. Glad you enjoyed the video otherwise! - Nicole, GwL Team
Thank you so much for making these videos!! I’ve been wanting to learn German and stick to it for a few months now and these videos are really helpful 👏
Great video as usual Laura, can't wait for my work books to arrive to do your fundamental course. Excellent teaching that keeps you glued. Very lucky to have stumbled across your articles online. Keep it up!
I stumbled on your video and think I can use your technique to make drills for Ukrainian (what I am studying). Thank you for sharing your creative ideas!
Thanks for the message and we would love to see you in German Foundations where you will find a lot of drills and practice. :) Laura does have this additional handout on her list, but she is currently in the recording studio. Too much to do, so little time! - Nicole, GwL Team
my German teacher said that while you're home alone, just say out loud, in German what you are doing and sort of... narrate yourself while you're at home. It also draws attention to words that you don't know that you would regularly come across daily
I would love this as a listening game where I have to fill in the blank from the various sentences. Then the correct sentence is repeated after to ensure I got it right to repeat and drill. This is the first video of yours I stumbled upon! Been studying German speaking for a year now. (Also would also really like a pdf worksheet to print out if you make those, I’ll check you website 😊)
Great idea for an activity! As of now, Laura has not yet made a worksheet for additional drills, but definitely still check out the website. There is a lot of content available on there! - Nicole, GwL Team
I've been struggling to figure out a way to best practice some of the grammar topics that I've been struggling with, and have been working on writing sentences freely. That is definitely more useful than just doing exercises on an app, but I think that this added structure will really help me to focus on one topic at a time. Really appreciate this exercise, I am sure I will use it again and again!
Why am I watching this as a German at 1 a.m. 🙃
😅😅😂😂😂😂😂😂
kudos for the Fizgig
German is also hard for you??
I think you're Just checking what she is saying is correct. I have got indian friends in Germany. They don't speak English, only German.

Laura is really a professional teacher because in just 24 minutes, she covers the major points of A1 level.
Thanks for watching!

Yes! Drills are very valuable in the right situation, so I am glad to hear they are getting popular again. Thanks for checking out my content!
Yay! A new German learning video to start my week! Thank you Laura for pushing us to learn. We appreciate you.
You're so welcome!
I feel like these drills will be incredibly helpful, because I remember plenty of vocab, but not so much stringing sentences together. Vielen dank! :)
Absolutely! You can do this!
A good teacher is the one who understands the subject clearly and the great teacher is the one who knows how to teach clearly and surely Laura is a great teacher ❤ your methodology simply amused me 🙌🏻
I hope she amazed you. 😀
You are a great teacher and a great human. I love your systematic, wholistic, mastering way of teaching. So much love and respect.
Thank you so much!
This is really helpful. I have attended a few courses and lived in Germany, but never had this type of exercise. Thank you so much.
You're so welcome!

I am in loooove with this. Thank you, Laura.
Just came across your video. I have been using Duolingo for a year and you have explained this so perfectly. Okay, subscribing to you Channel.
Thanks for being here!
This sentence reminds me of a video by Dani Chavero, where he discusses the use of the Janulus technique and Kaizen method in language learning.
I just found your channel today. Thank you for teaching us.
Welcome and thanks for being here!
Nice video. As complex as the German language is, it would be interesting to know what percentage of native speakers have a through mastery of it.
As a native English speaker of the United States, it's amazing how many grammatical mistakes I see when reading news articles.
That would be an interesting statistic to know, I agree. There probably are a good percentage of Germans that also do not know their grammar well.
