Pete Buttigieg is so articulate, so smart, and so unfazed by criticism and "gotchas" that he makes me feel calm and confident just by listening to him. And he knows his stuff, it's right at his fingertips. I've never seen him at a loss for an appropriate response that always addresses the actual question with no deflecting. He never goes low. He is a national treasure.

He could teach a master class in responding to insults and personal attacks (thinly or not so thinly-veiled) with professionalism, sincerely, and facts, without a hint of the cynicism or venom that would turn him into the villain every Fox viewer has been convinced he is.

I do call people out sometimes but there are some people and situations where that it is not really appropriate or at the very least practical. If I existed In a family that was basically an echo chamber it would be easy but they would not tolerate this constantly on various issues before the end arrives.

100%. I hope he does in 4 years. I would have preferred him on the ticket in 2024. I think both parties are kinda dumb with their presidential nominees for 2024. I think most Republicans would rather have Haley than Biden, and I think Haley would win the election over Biden whereas with Trump, Republicans seriously risk losing again. As for Democrats, I think Gavin Newsom or Pete Buttigieg, for example, would defeat Trump whereas Biden on the ticket risks losing given many voters' concerns over his age and cognitive ability. It feels like both parties aren't prioritizing winning in what both parties would say is a high stakes election. On the Republican side, maybe it's more complicated because of the big difference in views even within the party, but, again, you're taking a big risk with Trump vs. compromising to achieve a much higher probability of getting Biden out of office. If I were a strategist for either party I'd be losing my mind.

Well, I think he and Stacey Abrams are on the same level. I think each is brilliant and would make a good POTUS. However, with the way a lot of people voted in the mid-terms, I'm kind of skeptical. A lot of people will vote against their own interests -- if it means their party will get elected.
I’d have taken him over Biden anyday. And that’s with him still being an establishment, more corporate democrat, which isn’t my favorite. I think he’d still be able to work with the progressives.

I am a Dutch woman following anerican politics since Trump entered the stage. I must say that it is clear to me that the quality of democratic politicians is fad higher than the republican politicians not everyone is as intelligent as Buttigieg but it is a diverse group and everyone adds something unique. Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Porter, AOC, Swalwell,.Beto O'Rourke, Raskin, Schiff, Loffgren, Salazar, Schumer, Bernie, Abrahams, Omar, the indian lady, Warren, Kamala, Booker, Thompson, Whitmer, Newsom.....
In general, I am impressed especially if compared to the republican counterparts. The only disappointments were Manchin and Sinnema.

I couldn't agree more. Obama has a different quality, quite laid back and with a gift for a witty barb. He has a sense of irony that's never far from the surface. Pete is more factual.
