    I love your work. I cannot stand people who think restoration is just an excuse to paint things black. I also think it's amusing you started your channel as a way to de-stress your life. I watch it for the very same reason! Well, that and Mando, of course.

    • @RevdUp.Art.Fotografer
      @RevdUp.Art.Fotografer Місяць тому +2

      Totally! Any color of paint.
      Some poor things get painted hot pink, neon green with brick red trim🤮, &/or some other equally obnoxious color.
      Many antiques, which are merely a little rough around the edges, are seen as 'too much work' to care for properly. They are seen as a 'disposable', and a cheap solution for a child's room.
      Chests, nightstands, even dressing tables(!) oh my...
      The ones to paint are the broken down, 10 years old, big box store purchases. Paint THOSE things!

    I think the idea of using metal bars for the umbrella part is great. You could easily put a plastic container underneath, and you could put the container in a basket to hide it.

    That piece is simply elegant. Good job on the stain - really brings out the grain. Delighted that you are getting an apprentice. I take my hat off to you for putting your physical and mental health first - what you are doing in restoration must go a long way to soothing your soul. Thanks for another interesting video. I am hooked.

    Wait! I thought Mando was your apprentice?
    This was a nice little project. It still had enough damage to make it a reasonable project to restore and I love the finish. It really enhances the wood.
    It shows that you even small pieces can be rescued and repurposed (although I think this would look pretty amazing with an old Bakelite GPO dial telephone perched on it!)

    So beautiful! Top Notch! You really are the Bee's knees! Your kitty too, is growing so fast, each time we see him. And his coloring is so regal and gorgeous. When you first got him, my initial thoughts were; he needs a playmate, but as each video came out I realized that he has many play friends with your feline visitors. You must be very proud of how beautiful and playful he is. :)

    I really love this finished piece, and I think the brass rods look great. Maybe if it's not being used as an umbrella stand, you could put a piece of glass over the open area on the top to make a little more space to set things down. I hope we still see a lot of you in the videos when your apprentice joins you; I find your voice very soothing to listen to, and your videos are among my favorite places to hide out from our politics over here.

    Great job my friend. You seem to have a lot of 'tricks up your sleeve' when you restore your furniture pieces. There often is an 'artistic flare' to your work which I love to see. I must say that the use of the brass rods was a brilliant touch & really set the whole piece off. It is ALWAYS VERY RELAXING watching you perform your restorations & the way you bring the cats into your videos help with this. Cheers, Don from South Australia.

    Well most of my comments have been taken. Gorgeous results, when it was all sanded and the beautiful wood grain revealed I was thinking you wouldn't want to go too dark. Which brings me to the question of what the heck could you use the left side of the table for? A plant in a beautiful pot? Also, if you ever do want to use it for an umbrella stand you could put a pretty china plate or a clear bowl so you can still see the brass rods you used.
    Anywho, thanks and I can't wait to meet your apprentice! 👍
