I've never even seen an umbrella stand like this one before. It was a terrific piece of furniture to begin with, and restored it to its original glory!
My late father was a Carpenter Joiner. I have many fond memories of watching him work in his workshop. It brings back many memories of watching you work, How I wish my father was still around making wonderful things. It's great that you restore all this old bygone furniture. I have started to flip furniture myself now, and I can appreciate all the hard work and love you put into each project.
Thank you so much for your videos! I had a misfortune, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I also created a channel and am trying to move in that direction, but so far not very successful((x
A work of ART! You have amazing skills and GREAT patience with sanding! Injecting humor and a 'warm fuzzy kitty' moment in your videos are definite 'hooks' for your audience!

This beautiful people thinks the end result was beautiful. Very elegant, transported me back to a simpler time where craftsmanship & necessity produced the sublime. ❤
I've never seen this type of umbrella stand before. What you did with it is pure magic! Love watching you with your composure and serenity. Thank you so much!
I like restorations where some of the parts are missing and then the restorer must come up with their own take on how to incorporate new pieces to blend in with the original design. Can't wait to see how this one turns out
I dont think i have seen an umbrella stand before. It must be a rarity to see it anywhere. Its so pretty being restored to its former glory. Thank you for always saving such beautiful pieces and giving them a new lease on life for many years to come. 😊
You've turned from flipper to furniture surgeon!! Your new workshop is sooo awesome!😮 You've come a long way since you've decided to make this full time! Wow! Congratulations, tho I'm not saying your content was of lesser quality before, it's just awesome to see how you've been able to fully make your environment a true reflexion of the kind of artisan you are. 😊
Trouble is, gone are the days when house had decent sized halls in which to put the stands. I have a 50s house and the electricity board put the meter and gubbins, where a umbrella stand would stand.
Another great job! Anytime I watch A similar type of restoration video made by another creator, I think to myself "Jay would have done that better" or "they aren't doing that properly." As far as I am concerned, you are the GOLD STANDARD.
I so agree! Jay is the best! I love his attention to detail and the meticulous way he finishes all items; top, bottom, inside out, upside down...everywhere. No restoration videos I have watched come anywhere near Jay's level of perfection.
The grain in the wood is so pretty. I know it was a smaller project for you, but big or small, you never skimp on the details. A fun restoration to watch.
That is the coolest umbrella stand I have ever seen! I love the markings in the wood and the color you chose. Your choice to use your new machinery and print drips trays was great! Jay, you can do small projects or large projects. They are all enjoyable and worth watching. 💕
The only thing I miss about retiring from the construction business is that I no longer get to bring old houses and buildings to there former glory. For many years I restored 200 year old houses. I would bring them up to modern day standards and codes as well as add modern day conveniences while rebuilding the old world charm using old world craftmanship. While using power tools and modern technology to take care of most of the work I always loved replacing a window or a door that I made by hand to match the originals. I love watching you work. I find it amazing that you are so passionate and meticulous about a small (to me) piece of furniture that is 100 times as much work as building a door. Keep the videos coming! My eyes are experiencing what my hands no longer do.
It's a piece we don't quite see here in Brazil. Very useful for rainy places, so I wonder why. It's small and practical, so it would be perfect for any home. Nice result, as usual!
The beach scene was great. All you needed to make yourself comfortable besides the blanket, toaster and coffee would have been a seaweed mattress. Good thing you have the time to work on these projects for millennia.
Umbrella Stands always bring an elegant whimsy to a space. So happy you gave the much needed love to this one. ☂️💜☂️ How did it feel to create the first project in your redesigned workshop?? 🪵🪚🐈⬛

I hope you're keeping it for yourselves. It is so functional. You made it attractive as well. Brilliant way to make the drip pans. Your workshop's new open floor plan makes much more sense. It will be fun to see more projects in there. Give fluffy cat a kiss for me. You have three fluffy supervisors. How lucky you are.
