My mom just died on February 8 , 2024 , I needed something to help me relax , let God open another door for me! You did it , I love your sweet mellow voice , just helps with my sorrow yet picks me up ! Beautiful work as usual, I would love to have them in my bedroom! Thank you for your video & your voice I use as therapy!
I also live with chronic pain amongst a few other "ailments". I enjoy the videos and imagining how I could use what l see being done on some of my own furniture that needs work. 😏
People put liner in the drawers to protect them... my liners are never ever glued in because I change them if something gets on them... you are a wonderful artist!!! I cry when people paint solid wood or antiques...
I think the two little tables are divine. They would compliment any bedroom. You kept them natural and it showed off the grain of many strains of wood types. Bravo,Jay!❤
By leaving the wood natural it had a beautiful golden glow. They sprang to life. A darker color would not have done them justice. Again the eye if a craftsman saw the beauty within.
I wonder if anybody sees your videos after you purchase something of theirs on marketplace, and thinks “ I wish I would’ve thought of doing that!” these are stunning! Very wonderful work, and I can’t wait for the mid century challenge!😊❤😊
My heart is broken today. I found out my almost 29 yr old son has a drinking problem. He’s in Ohio and I’m in South Carolina. If you don’t think that certain content on UA-cam can’t help you find peace for a moment than you’re sorely mistaken. I have faith in God to help my son find help that he needs and there’s comfort in that. But sometimes watching something like flipping drawers helps my well-being for the moment. So thank you Jay. I appreciate you
😳 I’m so sorry to hear that Jodi. I know how hard it is to get out of that. I’m glad you enjoy my videos and really hope he can find the strength to quit.
You have faith in God, your son has probably faith in you. We are fathers until our last breath. I hope you are close enought to help. Wish you the best, as long as there is hope, life finds its way like the river finds its path trought the rocks. Sunny days will come back, alcool is not an unbeatable ennemi.
For what it's worth, most of my family has problems with alcohol. My sister just admitted to it in her 50s. She has turned her life around and I am so proud of her. If your son told you he has a drinking problem, I think that's wonderful! He is young enough to keep it from really hurting his health. Hang in there.
Came out real nice. Used many a can of Never Dull during my Navy days. You know Jay, I’ve been watching you for a while now and I’m beginning to think you know what you’re doing. 😊
Such beautiful little tables. Again, so glad they landed with you. They look like they've just got a big dose of love and now they look happy. Great job Jay. Always in admiration of your work. You know this buddy.
Jay, thanks for posting. I used to have poor reproduction of French Provencial furniture and it was white/off white. I'm sure this will be nicer. And, thank you for helping me through my very dark days after my Mom's sudden passing. PS: Hugo thanks for stopping by❤
I love these little side tables. Gorgeous for a cottage look and the different shades of wood added to their character. Great job Jay as usual. Thank you for sharing loved watching ❤
I always laugh at the “2000 years later” I love the voice. These pieces r so delightful. They will give a room an elegant look. Beautiful job as always. Thank you for teaching us.
People used to cover shelves and insides of drawers in paper to protect the wood - it was easy to replace when necessary without costly renovation. The pattern may not fit your aesthetics but someone liked it.
For anyone watching this video... this is a restoration! A restoration is not changing the use of the piece, it is not painting the piece to cover up damage. A restoration is returning the piece to its original functionality, to its original appearance, as much as possible. Absolutely wonderful work done here! Beautiful and high quality crafts!
Being from Alberta Canada I’m amazed and horrified by all the wood worm damage on vintage furniture. I don’t think we encounter it too much in the prairies. Love the little tables, thanks.
Thank you for a wonderful video. The wood colour: There is a word: If you can not hide something, highlight is as if it was meant to be. There for, I would leave it as it is; this way it's a truly unique piece of furniture. I, at least, like it very much the way it is with its different wood colours.
Beautiful! Their color variations make them more 'real' - perfectly, all one tone has it's place - but these tables have such a warm character and charm. Would look lovely in my 1850 Colonial!
This was a beautiful restoration. Your sense of humor is so adorable, it makes the videos more enjoyable. I miss all the kitties also. At least there's one around.
I know your pain. We haven’t heard from our son for seven years. As you said these videos help keep our minds occupied. Jay’s videos are my favorite. He is so thorough and does a wonderful job restoring furniture. I love his cats and how they wander in for some attention. Thank you Jay!
Those turned out amazingly well :) I knew you were in for a rough ride when you said @2:18 "seems like everything is going great, right? This should be easy...." lol.
These were maybe made after WW2, wood was in very short supply for a few years after the war, furniture makers used what they could get, and then used a dark stain to hide the fact that pieces were made from a combination of woods.
The. "two thousand years later" was a whimsical touch which really made me laugh. You do lovely, artistic work. Your comment that sanding is such "fun" also added to enjoyment of your program, while you created something beautiful. Thank you!

☹️ I’m really sorry 😔 glad my videos help to keep your spirit up 💛
So sorry 🙏🏻
I totally agree with you that letting the wood grain show through is just beautiful. Well done.
I love these little bedside tables! I like that you left them natural instead of staining them. Thanks!
You are so welcome!
AMAZING work Jay! They turned out so nice
Thanks Jason ;-) I love them
I live with chronic pain. Watching these videos make me happy.
I am glad I can help a little 😊

I kinda liked the retro wallpaper ‘thingy’! My grandma lined all the drawers of her furniture, even from new. She said it protected them! 😂
And she wasn't wrong! With only a little bit of mineral spirit to remove the traces of glue, it looks brand new!
“I think this keeps you humble.” I love this channel!
Thank you 🤩
Gorgeous! Natural was the way to go!!
I think so too! thank you
Great as always, Jay! They'll have a second long life now.
People put liner in the drawers to protect them... my liners are never ever glued in because I change them if something gets on them... you are a wonderful artist!!! I cry when people paint solid wood or antiques...
I appreciate sympathetic restoration and admire people who have the patience for it. Well done!

Absolutely beautiful! It is so satisfying watching vintage furniture come back to life!
These are the most beautiful bedside tables EVER. I am in love with them!!!! And the different wood colours only make them even better!!!
🤩
I love these before and after
These are absolutely radiant now! Very nice!😺
I'm so happy for you that you got to do tons of sanding this time since it's your favorite! 😹
Glad you decided to keep them natural - the results are beautiful! And worthwhile all the sanding 😂😉❤
Thanks so much 😊
I love them already!!
Stunning! Beautiful job 👏
Thank you! 😊
It is so good that you keep a sense of humor and humility. These tables turned out beautifully

Yes they do🙂 sometimes I send them links or pictures
That turned out to be quite lovely! Good choice!

Sweet beautiful pair of side tables 💕🐞🦋

So delicately made, unlike other wood dressers and cabinets.
Such beautiful little tables. Again, so glad they landed with you. They look like they've just got a big dose of love and now they look happy. Great job Jay. Always in admiration of your work. You know this buddy.
I do ☺️ thank you Emer 💛
In a word, beautiful! 👏👍✨😍❤
Thank you so much 😀
my mother used to line drawers, she thought it looked nice, was relatively quick to replace, and made it easier to find what she was looking for.
Amazing transformation. You brought out a movement and flow in those pieces that wasn't there before. Absolutely stunning! Great work!!
Thank you 🙏
Such a beautiful wood color and grain! Awesome matching color on the drawers! Adorable nightstands! Thanks so much for sharing
Thank you! Cheers!
WOWOWOWOW!

They turned out quite beautiful. Well done!
Hey hey there's King 👑 Midas. Everything you touch turns to gold!❤😊
Lovely makeover and beautiful wood grain!
I always laugh at the “2000 years later” I love the voice. These pieces r so delightful. They will give a room an elegant look. Beautiful job as always. Thank you for teaching us.
Simply gorgeous! Wishing I lived "across the pond" because I have a few antiques that need your tender loving care😊
Jay: a wonderful restoration job. They are so sweet and functional. Those night tables should sell very fast. Kudos to you. Carol from California
Glad you like them!
The best way to match the color is...... don't. Let the piece do what it wants. They are gorgeous!!!
What lovely pieces!
These are such pretty little tables. Your perseverance with some (most😂) of your projects is really inspiring.
Obviously, someone put the wallpaper in the drawers because they were trying to be "fancy AF" 😂
I sure enjoy your content!!
Gorgeous! Well done!
So beautiful
Elegant pieces! Well done! Much more beautiful afterwards.
Thank you so much 😀
The transformation of these two bedside tables is wonderful! The wood is glowing. Excellent work, as always.
The wood grain is quite striking. That lighter strip in the front of one is unusual. Glad that Hugo comes and gives you a sanding break.
Such elegant lines in these little tables. Good for you spotting their potential.
Beautiful to see them like they would originally look. Thank you
You’re welcome 😊
4:58 it's the giggle for me 🥰

While I'm not sure if I like the paper I did think it fit the style of the little tables, I love that style it's beautiful
@@teariana1 I agree - it's a nice antique pattern.
“Every time I think I have a simple project”. 😂. I’ve accepted that every project will take twice as long as I think it will.
You have magical hands to be able to do it so well!! What a blessing!
Thank you! Cheers!
They are beautiful
Great job on those end tables!!!
Some wood will bleed on your fine fanrics. Maybe thats why the paper was on. Thanks for your videos.
You do such great work. ❤
Beautiful elegant bedside tables, my goodness they have a completely new life ahead of them!
Haven’t seen you for a while. Beautiful restoration.

Awesome! Thank you!
It looks so much better now
Awesome job! I actually like the slight color variance. I think it gives it character. Very well done.
BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤🇺🇸

Oh my gosh! I think those tables are so cute. It's so hard to find unique pieces.
They are so elegant! I really love them. Well done!❤️🤗🐝
I don't know, I kind of miss that wallpaper liner……..😂 Wonderful job!
Gorgeous, thank you for letting them just be!❤🎉
Beautiful outcome!

I am glad you restored the pieces to be natural.
Beautiful work, as always! Thank you from Canada!
BEAUTIFUL 😮
You never disappoint

Wow, you did it again! Beautiful!
They turned out beautifully. As for me, I love a dark cherry color. But they truly are beautiful!
Those turned out amazingly well :) I knew you were in for a rough ride when you said @2:18 "seems like everything is going great, right? This should be easy...." lol.
Jay, They look lovely. Thank you for the video.
It's relaxing and you have a calm way about you.❤
These look so nice! I LOVE seeing what you do with pieces of furniture to restore them and make them shine again! ❤🎉❤
Love the natural look. Good job!
They turned out beautifully, Jay. Bravo!

These tirned out gorgeous❤. Such a pretty wood under that dark color, i never understand why older furniture is so very dark
Very cute, little tables! The finish was the best!
This is an astounding transformation. Great job!
Beautiful now that you have revived them.
