I saw the play wed night. Do you people realize Neil Diamond was part of the making of this Musical. He said he always kept his life private, until he got Parkinson’s Disease . He couldn’t tour anymore and decided to tell the story of his life. It was awesome . It was not a disservice as another comment said . Will Swenson was awesome , and the cast got standing ovations .

Yes, we people, know he was consulted. It doesn’t change my opinion that the story was shallow.

@@kathyb1276 i still feel that if neil wasnt there would the fans be think about it would you rather see neil or a fake neil diamond me i prefer the real neil diamond also you would never spend 449.00 to see neil himself but now you are paying that for a fake give me the real neil diamond also did you forget that neil once has said that his music tells the story of his life he never needed to do this 🙂

Jersey Boys was really lightning in a bottle and all of its imitators have simply been jukebox musicals with hardly a story to sustain it.

This show is a disservice to Neil Diamond. More than sixty years of work has been reduced to a “story” about a man who divorced his wives an spent too much time touring. It’s cheap and demeaning. If you are looking for a tribute to this talented man, you won’t find it here.

Lillie, I know he was involved. You are defending the play. I am defending the man. In my opinion, the play was well done, but it was shallow. I believe that there is more to Neil Diamond than the play depicted. I had hoped to learn something new about him. Peace.

When are these producers going to actually TRY? These dumb jukebox musicals are getting as tired as the musicals based on some dumb 80's movie. What a shame that theatre has become what it has become.
