My father is 83yo and has eaten anything he wants his whole life and has been a functional alcoholic since he was 14yo. Literally drinks (what would be considered 'heavily' ) every single afternoon. He still gets out and walks every day and he plays golf once a week. I think the daily movement is what keeps him going because his diet and alcohol consumption is crazy.

I went to Thailand in the farming communities. We brought food and water to people isolated by floods. I never saw such happy people everywhere we went. Even in the larger cities everyone was happy, they might not have had much but they were happy and always smiled and were grateful. And then we came home to the states where people are so miserable and hateful over the most petty things 😢staying in my zen.

Good one! Sometimes, your videos drive me a bit crazy when they focus on technical minutiae and marginal effects that could be derived from food, supplements or training protocols. I like that this one hits the foundationals and has tangible takeaways. There are some us who, like you, have followed the longevity experts for a while and done our own self study so I love that these messages are geting more traction. From the comments, there are a bunch of us who have been applying these principles for decades now and it's paying off. Hopefully messages like this will be taken to heart and cause more meaningful action so the masters performance athletes among us will continue to have training partners through the ages.

Hi Thomas. Thanks for the efforts you put into your videos. You have several videos suggesting a moderate (as in this video) to high (4 or 5 per day, as in another video, if I am not wrong) egg intake. Could you please address the subject about the increased risk of cancer seen in some studies (meta-analysis) associated to egg intake? It also seems that there are other health professionals (e.g. M. Greger) with opposite interpretations in the subject. Perhaps, it could be an interesting discussion to make public. Moreover, what's your opinion about the maximum safe daily dose of total proteins (or of isolated Leucine) that resistance training athletes should adopt chronically for avoiding a hyper-activation of mTOR that could potentially associate a shorter lifespan (secondary to the pathology that has been linked to chronic mTOR activation, such as T2D, cancer etc...)?. 2 cents from a 60-year-old retired Health Teacher: First and foremost, genetics will trump lifestyle as far as longevity is concerned. Quality over quantity of life is our goal so obviously proven healthy habits will increase our odds to lengthen our lives and make it hopefully make it fulfill! Quality of life?! That's so ambiguous/subjective/personal...I focus on a balance of the mind/body/soul and how that balanced interaction brings true bliss. Most of us have an out of balance mind, which in turn, effects the body, and shuts down the soul.
There's simply too much thinking in our mind, and for many it's "stinkin thinkin"! That little crackpipe we stare into for hours every day is the main culprit causing us to over compare, judge, and think too much. Its AI capabilities take us down algo rhythmic destruction supporting our cognitive biases and dogmatism! And we actually think we know we're right! You can do all the good healthy habits for your body: movement, food, sleep, sunlight etc. but if you have an overactive mind, and being soulless, you aren't living in fulfillment. A healthy body is only 1 of 3 components that bring us bliss. So, what's the answer?! The answer is within each individual. Your truth is found in you not me, Thomas, or the over information in your crackpipe. Awareness of the difference between your egoic action(mind) and your soulful actions is a start. We need our mind(ego) to function in life, but let's keep it in balance. Focus more on soulful being: helping, loving, nature. Summary: Fulfillment, Joy, Bliss (whatever you want to call it) comes from a balance of your mind (the necessary egoic actions or "doings" to preserve our individual self), the good habits of caring for your body, and soulful actions. The bottom line for most of us: overactive mind from too much stimulation causing too much anxiety causing too much cortisol (hormonal imbalance!) causing imbalance of mind/body/soul. Solution in a nutshell: Less mind, healthy body habits, more soulful being=more balance=more fulfilling life!

I think increasing delta G shortens life span based on my understanding of cellular biology. Your cells have a finite number of cell divisions. upping G flux accelerates cell growth and divisions even in a slight caloric deficit. Unless we can significantly lengthen telomeres this will be the case. This is why caloric restriction extends life because it slows BMR and slows the cell cycle of division. I agree with most everything else.
